In almost all reports about the “new” 997 it can be read that the engine sound leaves hard to be desired. In the AUTO newspaper it says: “Only with the sound rating the boxer – big surprise – can not keep up completely. In the idle run dominates the hard combustion noise of the direct injection, only at higher speeds and full speed the attentive listeners hear an idea of the old boxer howling.” That doesn’t sound euphoric. If that’s the case with the Boxster, then I like to skip the new engine generation and order the current Boxster again. Markus

Hello, I have a question. I bought a 997 S Cabrio FL 3 weeks ago. The vehicle has PASM + Sport Chrono. Today I had a rental balance from the car dealership. Actually almost the same as mine only as Coupe and in the not S version (also PASM + Sport Chrono). Of course this with 305 instead of the 295 at the Cabrio. Now I have (for my actually few driving runs with Porsche) determined that driving behavior is very different from the chassis. rio is more unstable and you can’t drive so aggressively in the curves. I find a understeer in the curves, so read the stability would be missing. Now the question arises me if with my convertible ex factory what is wrong, or if this is generally true. Is there possibly someone here who with more driving experience already had the opportunity to test on vehicles? Thank you for your help. Sevvi

I don’t know what to do!!!! 1 1/2 months ago I ordered a 997 S Coupe. Was so far convertible driver, but actually no more convertible, because a) the Coupe is optically more beautiful b) I have actually driven less and less open in the last years. Now my wife has been annoying me for a few days (the weather is getting better) if we can not take a convertible after all. After questioning with PZ would be possible in change of the order, however, the delivery date postpones my wife didn’t want a Porsche. Now I have to listen to every day the whims about convertible. Should I really change the order? I know that I have to make a final decision. But maybe someone has had similar experiences.

Hi forum, this time I would like to know your opinions on chip tuning and other things like gas acceptance etc. that you can do with laptop. Does anyone have experience with it? Is it something nice to treat yourself to and also make sense in some cases or do you all grab your head at the thought of doing a Porsche in this way? Yesterday it caught me again: one centimetre too far to the right and it crunched. And of course it hit the glossy-turned front surface (see photos). Two questions to the experts: – Can you fix this? I got explained to one of my other cars that this is not possible with a glossy-turned surface. What do you think? The new turbo rim is not one of the cheapest – It is now the third time in five years that this is for me with a Porsche (currently 991.2 t) urbo, before 997.2 targa). Is that possible for you or am I just too stupid to deal with the much wider 911 rear? Hello Together My car stood now 2 months and my battery has unloaded. Unfortunately I can not get you up the trunk. Of course I have searched and found a lot of things including the manual. Or like e.g.http://www.motor-talk.de/…/empty-battery-996-t2623703.html?… Long speech short sense, unfortunately this does not work. It seems to arrive juice (default light ignites weakly), but the alarm does not work. The relay that switches when plugging the key into d he ignition also seems to react, but nothing else, just dead. Does anyone still have an idea? Or can someone, also by PN, tell me how to get to the note lock in the left wheel box? Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything where I could pull, but unfortunately can’t take off the wheel, because the special nut is also in the front trunk. Hello dear municipality, after very long abstinence a 996 convertible is available, the vehicles of the years 99-03 have meanwhile fallen below the 20TEUR (or are just above) and are therefore compatible with my budget. My question is this: is it worth it to invest 3 to 4k more and take a 02 or 03er 3.6 with 320hp? First times 200cc, 20Nm and 20hp more, at a little less speed. Sounds not bad, even the 5km/h more, the 0.2 less to 100 and the 0.7 Mene question to the experts: was only the engine reworked or other details, is it worth the extra charge of 3 to 4k? Hey, I was at the dealer’s with a friend this weekend, he bought a Cayman, and I saw the boxster and fell in love with him. BJ:2001 125,000 km, full leather, climate, navi 18″ turbo rim….. is really good. The dealer said he sweats at the KWS, which is normal with the engines. now I am strongly superior. Hello dears, I have a question and that is the brother of my grandmother passed away… He still has a Porsche 911, Bj 1976 in his garage… My grandmother wanted to sell this, unfortunately I no longer have to data… It means that the underbot is probably rusted through ?? His Porsche has still this year TÜV and He probably still has some original spare parts for his car… My question is how much such a Porsche is still about worth, because I don’t want my grandma there Maybe some people can help me here… MfG Laura
