  • FAP. Ratio of operating hours DME/Airbag vice versa as normal and no overdriver

Servus together Normally, the operating hours of the airbag control unit are about 10% higher than those of the engine control unit (DME). I now have data from a hand switch that has no ignitions in the ranges 1-6. Furthermore, the ratio of operating hours DME:Airbag is vice versa than usual. The DME shows an operating hours number, which is 50% above the airbag hours number, a new airbag control unit was not installed. The average speed of the vehicle was orientie rt on the DME = 45 km/h, oriented towards the airbag control unit = 65 km/h. Can anyone explain why the airbag control unit shows much less hours than the motor control unit? That the Porsche has no overdriver despite hand-operated operation can be natural, but there will not be so often. History makes manipulation very unlikely. Thank you and greetings from Wolf

  • 718 – future model change

Hello Porsche connoisseur, Since I am currently dealing with the 718, here is my question about the current model or the future model change. when can the model replacement of the current model (982) be expected? Is the type 982 a facelift of the 981? If so, then about 2020 a successor would be expected. Does anyone know more?

  • Too many fictitious Porsche owners

Dear Porsche fans, what I’ve noticed here recently and I’m getting on my feet is the fleet of many clerks in the various subject areas. That’s partly really ridiculous and unbelievable, which some people think “Porsche owners” have (not) everything here. If everyone here also has the car, which some have here, then Porsche would probably have sold 500 new 911 SC, instead of the strictly limited 250 pieces. is really no shame to write here, without being owner, I also own no one (which would be funny at the age of 18), but I am also very much interested in the mind, as some here indicate with their acquired piece, e.g. a Cayenne Turbo S. Congratulations, the one (well know some who I mean) bought a great car for a lot of money, but in my view this is rather one of the category appearances.(for that, the picture of the saphir blue turbo on a PZ between and other used models made xD) And how some people write here fundamentally wrong things…puh, googelt please before after what you want to spread, I really feel sorry for the people here, who live Porsche and write here really good contributions with a lot of knowledge of the models. I am happy to see with and anyway always a Porsche, this brand fascinated me since I can say cars. But seriously people, if you already drive a fictitious Porsche t, then not all a turbo or the most expensive models. If in reality, apart from this forum, you connect quite little with the brand, the myth and the history of this wonderful brand, then please change brands that are more mainstream. Porsche really doesn’t deserve that.

  • Boxster or SLK?

Hello together, in about a year I want to finally fulfill my dream of a sports car. At the moment I look around and compare pros and cons of the SLK 171 and the Boxster… one of the two should become it. I have already got a little information about the SLK here, but I don’t know about the Boxster so far. Well then, first a few infos about me and about my later car. I need it in wind and weather, say it will not be a second carriage n and when it rains I also have to come to work, because I worry a little about the roof of the boxster…? I have only 25,000 available and the car should last for a few years without huge repairs… Where are the weak points of the boxster? Do you get anything decent at all for 25,000 (better would of course be 22,000 or so)? As I said, I have 0 plan of it. For the price I get of course a SLK with much later BJ, which actually me more to optically, however, I find the boxster much better.

  • 944 Water pump

Hello guys, I have a question. With my Porsche 944 from 1984 there is a problem with the cooling. Since it was getting hot again and again (in the last “black” quarter of the display), I renewed the thermostat. When I wanted to test this however, my 944 started to cook unfortunately. Upper hose of the radiator was hot, lower hose but cold. I thought myself that the water pump is broken, because it is a much occurring problem (?). Now I wonder what I am I don’t know exactly what it’s called in German, but in the parts list of Porsche, the second belt is called a “balance belt”.

  • Macan GTS – Buy Air suspension? Help with purchase

Hello, I’m just about to buy a Macan GTS. Two models are available in Vulkangraumettalic. One is EZ 02/2016 (with air suspension and 360° camera and auxiliary heating) – Porsche Center The other is EZ 01/2018 (without air suspension and only rear-view camera, but with Connect Plus and DAB) There are no more differences. The car at the Porsche Center costs 63000,-, the other (younger) is with the free dealer still with factory warranty until 01/2020 and costs 65,500,-. Can you please tell me Give a valuable tip to the Macan GTS? Which take, which equipment is indispensable? Thank you very much for any information. Greetings Alex

  • How important is the manufacturer’s release for oil?

Hello, I would like to make an oil change with my 928 (model 1979). For this I bought 7 liters “Motul 15 W – 50” (Specification according to operating instructions / 6.5 liters incl. filters are required). When buying I also told the car parts dealer that it should be for a Porsche 928, model 1979. But now I have seen on the oil bottle that only manufacturer approvals of VW and Mercedes are given. Now I ask myself whether I can fill it in without hesitation? (I have g) What to do, then? Greetings, Thorsten

  • Porsche Panamera camshaft damage

As a new member I would like to leave a warm hello and also come right to my topic. In February this year I bought a Panamera 4S from Private. This vehicle had a warranty until June. A warranty extension was not possible since the car was bought by Private. Fact: Porsche Panamera 4S 970 Year of manufacture 2009 Current mileage slightly over 85000 service was always made with Porsche Yesterday the following happened: Yesterday night on the highway s I stopped from the sport mode in the Super Sport mode and accelerated from 100 km/h to 250 km/h. When I took gas away the system reported the following errors in the pure sequence: vehicle was by the way warm driven 😉 Sport mode failed engine control failed PSM failed four wheel failed car jumped into the emergency run and vibrated in front of it. To prevent worse I drove on the standing tire, the engine went off at approx. 30 km/h. Starting was not possible any more. My car was brought to the PZ on the trailer. Today the Hoops message, camshaft defective and that without guarantee. The employee of the PZ submitted a bulwark application in Stuttgart. Now my questions to you. What experiences did you have with the topic of culant at Porsche? How should I proceed further? Do you know a contact person in Stuttgart in such cases? How much will the costs be? It is shameful for a V8 engine that it stretches the feelers after 85000 kilometers. Since please so dear and give me adequate help and comments. Thank you and love Dirk

  • Boxster GTS 981 – my first Porsche

Hi together, after some time of MT abstinence I register now again… My daily driver is still the fabulous BMW M4, for me still the perfect combination of fun and transport device. However, I lacked the open drive pass a little and so I now got a 981 boxster GTS for it… BJ 2015, 24000 on the clock, good equipment and since it is the last 6-sower with Porsche (except the GT3, which runs out of competition), also with probably As a Porsche Novice, however, I don’t know much about the car so far and therefore I would be very happy about your experiences, dos and donts, tips and tricks, live hacks or whatever there is to say about the car, here are the most important equipment details: GTS (hence automatically 20″, Sport-Chrono, PASM, SAGA, sports seats and still a few rather unimportant gimmicks) PTV PCM GTS-Interior I think a lot of what you can say about the car, also applies to the normal and S – Variant or the corresponding Cayman. So grab the keys… Warm greetings from Benztown Selti
