Short distance with 997 Turbo – really a problem?
Are there really such extreme problems with the 997 Turbo with a lot of short distance? No matter who I have talked to so far (Porsche Zentrum or Freunde), it was advised not to use the 997 Turbo much on short distance. The statements were always similar: Problems with the loader would be preprogrammed, as they do not reach the necessary operating temperature and would thereby be damaged in the medium term. I ask, since I get a 997 Turbo Cabrio in June 2008 and towards the end The alternative is a second car for the way to work. But I only drive about 8,000 km a year and I would like to spend it mostly (as now) in the Porsche. I will certainly drive a bigger round to work, but will not be the rule. Of course I drive not only through the city to work with the turbo, but also country road and highway. I also realize that a turbo absolutely the fa Is the vehicle for the short distance, but my question is, how big would the damage really be for the engine? Has anyone had experience or already had problems? Perhaps the engine experts can give me some more information. Thank you and greetings Gregor

New Boxster S ( Julia )
Hello dear ones, yesterday my dream came true!!!!! My Julia is finally there. First amml to my name Popu is Pakistani and means -beautiful to look at. I have already worked a lot in Pakistan and India. Yesterday it was so far my black boxster S (295hp) was delivered. Clearly the best day of my life worked hard for it but it was worth it. who has already at 23 years a Boxster S. Outside – Black Interior – Black Equipment – Navi – Sporabgasanlage – Bose Surround Sound – circuit – I actually come from Alfa but the Spider did not overtake me. Just like the TT. The TT is good but it lacks the most important, the emotions.

Steering Cayenne S
Hello, drive a 2003 Cayenne S and I noticed now, after I got a new Cayenne S as an accident replacement car that the steering is so smooth compared to mine…..Is that normal? The difference is so brutal that you think you’re sitting in an Audi A6….Also the 40hp difference is noticeable….Consumption is also much less, almost 5 liters less consumption on 100km….Now I drive the thing a week, and then I get wi and my old bone again……harm that the repair no longer takes…… Thomas

Virtual racers at Bo(a)rd?
Hello together, a few days ago I installed a “new” car race:Live for Speed, in short LFS LFS is an author game – and very realistic. In the free version you can drive a track and three cars. Also multiplayer goes. Against money you can unlock the free version (called license), then much more routes and cars. And here a good, German-language manual as Wiki:http://de.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Main page It’s a lot of fun – the Driving physics is really impressively real. Are there other virtual racers here? We could organize a race – that works quite well (also already tried *g*). Greetings, Markus. PS: A steering wheel with force feedback is not mandatory, but increases the driving fun enormously *g*

Replace a 16V cylinder head 944S with an 8V ???
Hello, has anyone ever replaced a 16V cylinder head of a 944S with the 8V cylinder head of a normal 944? My father-in-law has been standing a 944S with a defective engine in his garage for 8 years and I am now seriously considering taking over the car. About 8-9 years ago he experienced the fate of many 944S drivers – timing belt tear. He then bought a new cylinder head with valves etc. for a lot of money and assembled everything again. When everything was finished and he He started the engine for a few minutes without any problems, but then the gas line jumped off, which was only badly plugged together. In the engine compartment it immediately started to burn. My father-in-law managed to extinguish the fire very quickly, but it has become much sickened and useless (dental belts, wire harness, head seal, numerous plastic covers, etc….) Since that time my father-in-law has left the car in the garage unnerved. I am interested now, to install the normal 8V head of a 944, for that one probably also needs a 944 wire harness with ECU. Is this technically feasible without too big problems?? I would be grateful if someone could give me some advice. How expensive could such a repair be?? Wolfgang

Hello Porschegemeinde, I would be interested to hear from you when the consideration starts to buy a luxurious vehicle.Does Super Plus have to be at 2.50 Euro and the taxes the double cost. Or has the time come yet?????Drive yourself a 997.A pure hobby vehicle. So without sense to board through the landscape and powder the super cheap fuel.Of course it is a nice vehicle but does it make sense????? look????? The envy is getting bigger. Please avoid stupid comments. Greetings

Porsche warranty extension after 2 years, makes sense ?
Hello together, I would like to hear your opinion about the new car warranty extension after 2 years. Mine will be in June 2 years and Porsche (my PZ) wrote to me a few days ago and the extension of the warranty recommended. What are your experiences with it?? I thought Porsche would be so kulant if something was broken?? Oh yes, I don’t know the price for the extension yet… yes the stress, just didn’t have time. It’s about the Carrera Cabri, by the way. olet. Thank you for your experiences and info’s greetings Reiner

997 Turbo: Interesting comparison video from CarMagazine
Hello together, at the British CarMagazine there is an interesting video for the race track test of the 997 Turbo (in yellow) and a competitor similarly configured by performance, comfort and drive concept (by the way a new car of a private buyer), which I did not want to deprive the technology interested among you.Rockingham Test Part I Rockingham Test Part II Note also the somewhat unorthodox method of “drying” a race track after rain with a BMW M3 in drift Fun watching.
