  • Useful extras 997 CS

Hello friends, I’m about to order a 997 S. I’ve also put together the extras so far. What can’t be missed, what can’t be retrofitted? Of course, it’s best to bark everything, but there must be a break somewhere. The following extras I’ve got in mind: 997 CS, basalt black full-heeled black sports exhaust system Carrera Sport Rad Parkassitstent sliding roof dials black seat heating hub Navi phone module (the S has Xenon and PASM as standard) What recommend is the sound system indispensable? Does the sliding roof make sense or does it only take away interior height … I ask for critical remarks. From my other thread I understand that you can expect a discount of about 6-7%. Then Porsche seems to be doing much better at the moment than Mercedes in the sports car segment. They are currently giving significantly higher discounts. Thank you.

  • Boxster 987 long distances

Servus, short intro: currently driving Audi. Preferably TT 1.8T Coupe. I like to drive a car and commute on weekends usually about 300 km between Zuerich and Muenchen. This means highway and highway. The TT is chipped and has shorter springs, but no coilover suspension. I have deliberately left the 17 Zoellers on top, so that the disc incident doesn’t happen so fast. The TT is a lot of fun overall, but is not (in described configuration) b Now it’s time for a new little flicker. I find the 987S extremely appealing in terms of appearance and read (= not even experienced) data. Besides, I’d like to have a convertible. My question: Does one of you have such a heavy one on longer distances. And, ideally, can someone compare it with the TT in terms of comfort (funny with this car, I know) directly? Oh, and what else: If I change the back bench with the TT, I’ve got a good time. Can I transport a box in the boxster if I have to? Or is that completely excluded? The Cayman doesn’t feel like me and is therefore no alternative. Thank you for your feedback & nice evening Ah – another last point, with an empty motorway, not insignificant: Do you feel safe at high speed in the 987s? That’s how I aim for braking and drive (or lift) and steering. And above all: As a quattro-enhanced Audi driver he: What looks like with Naesse, or snow – here of course _not_ at high speed …

  • New Boxster old technology

Hello, after a lot of problems (including engine damage) my SLK 350 should be changed now. I am very interested in the new BoxsterS. Unfortunately I miss some things that other manufacturers already have long ago. As already posted, PCM with CD instead of DVD is really not the hit, at least not for Euro 2600,-. Especially old-fashioned however, I find the rear lights, which are not based on the meanwhile common LED technology. (except middle light) Maybe you can me further help with the following questions: Is there an alternative to the rear lights from the tuning range, or is Porsche planning, in the foreseeable future, new rear lights? Is there a recommendation for a foreign navigation system with monitor and DVD? Should the planned DSG transmission also be available in the boxster, or will it only be equipped with the 911er? Thank you in advance.

  • ebay-damaged Litronic owner

Hello Do you have any experience with the Litronic headlights offered at ebay for the Boxster models type 986? I bought before a longer set; but from the well-proclaimed Litronic function i.e. level control was unfortunately not much to see during the first brake or acceleration attempt.Instead of keeping the light cone on a level accordingly, the lens remained unimpressed rigid in its place;na great;so get out again with the lamps and again all and if I had already thought about it…there were still a plug on every lamp where there probably still a control unit wants to turn on; now my question; maybe someone from you knows how expensive and especially where I get something like that (with ebay I could not find one yet and Porsche probably also falls away because almost 500,00 Teuro);Maybe one of you also bought a set of Litronics and similar problems; How great what to hear from you

  • Experience with track broadening Boxter 986

Hello, on my Boxter S on the front axle 15 mm distance discs / wheel tire combi 7.5 x 18 with 225/40 mounted. Since then the front axle seems more nervous – have you made these experiences with corresponding conversions – my PZ Allgäu thought that this would be normal, since the front axle is sensitive to such conversions – the standard 5 mm widening did not make any “problems” Would I be happy if you told me about your experiences. Greeting, André

  • buy Cayman?

Hello, what do you think. Should I buy a Cayman or rather a young used 996?? For the Cayman speaks as I find the design and also that he is new. The 996 would be just used and just an old model. What do you think??

  • 997 – Problems

I’ve had a new 997 S – before 996 4S for 2 months. Two things that make me extremely angry and could not fix Porsche despite zewi several days of workshop stays: 1. The fan under the engine compartment cover runs almost non-stop in urban traffic, whether the engine is hot or lukewarm (nervy); 2. Above about 210 km/h the vehicle on the front axle is so nervous that it moves a partially 20-30 cm. At max. km/h it is not possible to think (life-threatening). At 996 4S ha I would not have these problems. If someone has similar experiences or problems, or if someone knows advice. Thank you

  • Insurance

So after looking in a way in the search engine if someone has already written to Porsche about the topic and I have found nothing: What is a good insurance company, which offers good insurance for the private man / woman good insurance for Porsche. Since 75% of all Porsche are still on the road, the premiums should not actually be too high and Porsche drivers are not necessarily Kamikaze drivers. I am at about 50% damage-free discount (will the car in D too for 911 Targa (glass roof!!/part kasko) BJ 2002 or 2003 so with 320 HP Tiptronic? MERCI

  • Experience of new boxers

Hello Porsche Freunde Bin resp. was looking for a roadster and hang now on the nine boxster :-)… I make it short, the original is not to be surpassed, really top processed and a great car. I still fluctuate between a boxster and a boxster S. The S I drove the without S is just not amusing. I would be interested in your experiences, that it is great, no question, but where are the weaknesses, Macken? Do the driving performance differ between S and and without S very big? I am disturbed by the somewhat lean 270NM torque. 320NM are ok… but below 300 for a Porsche…

  • Maintenance Porsche Boxster S

Hello, I bought a Porsche Boxster S two weeks ago (986, 7/2003). I now have some questions about care. I have already found a variety of tips, but would also like to ask your opinion. Deck: The cleaning was recommended here with a brush and clear water. For impregnation some take the BMW impregnation, other simple textile impregnations. Have you had experience with this? Rims: Which rim cleaning product do you use? Leather: I have Full leather finish (black) with raffled leather look. How do you like your leather? Last but not least, I want to throw out the spare wheel and add a tire spray. Can you recommend something to me? Ciao, Holger.
