Dear forum, I could have a “Sport Classic” – I just can’t decide and therefore look for further arguments in this way. The heart says yes and the mind says no. And I already know the answer of my wife, so I won’t ask her at all. I realize that nobody can take this decision from me, but a few Pro & Contras would be quite helpful. Please help me before I have nibbled off all the fingernails. mfg, Tom

Can you turn off the kickdown switch in manual mode?
The following refers to VDU from VW — but also to PDK from Porsche. I read a report about a Porsche with PDK, and the journalist was enthusiastic about the kick-down switch. When I heard about the VDU gearbox for the first time, I was thrilled. Finally no more switching errors — no more balancing. Then I tested a Golf GTI (in manual mode of course): In the first gear full throttle — turn up at 3000..4000 — which was ignored by the VDU — embarrassing — he went up to over 6000 — brand-new car. Then I later (in the 3rd or 4th gear) gave it full throttle again, as I wanted it from manual gearbox and he turned it down — and I shouted out: “He turns on self-sufficient!” I was told that this is not a fault but a feature — called kickdown switch. Naturally, this feature spoils one the whole driving fun. Is there any way to turn off the kickdown switch — of course only in the m anual mode?

Purchase advice 997 Carrera Cabrio or Carrera S Cabrio
Hello ! Have a question to the community and experienced ! Put me next week a 997 convertible too ! Have the choice between a Carrera with Tiptronic and a Carrera S 6 speed switch . How do you see that, is the difference regarding driving performance really serious or is not much difference here ? I heard the Tiptronic S should be slower than when I switch the 6 gear itself … .. Is there anything about it ? Interesting are also sprints from 100 to 200 km/h. A friend has a 335i limousine with software optimization (360 hp) I think I’ll be hard with the Carrera 325 hp or ? Be pleased about your help ! thank you

Who can help – different purchase criteria – 911er sound and smell – Thank you 🙂
Hello everyone, Sound: I am rather someone who likes it a little bit quieter in contrast to the usual Porsche fan. Can you tell me which Porsche 911 was equipped with a quieter sound from – to )? I would like to drive such a model sometimes …. And is it also switchable off with the new models of the additional sound ? Interior fragrance: I tested a new 911 Cabrio 4 S a few days ago. It was a completely new car. I am furled that the driving z Eug extremely after plastic / fragrance … smelled. An acquaintance told me that the odorous substances are in the meantime extra into the interior equipment – artificial materials and evaporate permanently? White jemadn of you more about it? Does this smell disappear sometime? After what time? Does the stench come from a specially applied spray, which disappears after a while or does it drain out of the artificial material of the interior decoration? From which year is this so? Thanks to all Gruss PB

Company vehicle concealed
Hello guys, a few days ago I bought a Porsche Cayenne on the Internet from a dealer in northern Germany. The advertisement was at autoscout24. When I got the vehicle papers after payment I had to find out that I bought a company car. The car dealer did not get out before. If in the advertisement “Company car or company car” had stood, then I would never have come up with the idea to buy this car, especially since the car was still expensive. I have withdrawn the purchase contract as a precautionary measure. The dealer has not said anything about it yet. I am looking for appropriate literature and judgements on this subject. It can’t be that the dealer does not have to inform the buyer about such an important thing before. Maybe someone from the round has already had similar or similar experiences. Please, nevertheless, would like to bring the matter to an end. Happiness on. MinisterRolf

Targa purchase recommendation?
Hello for now, I’m new to the Porsche Forum, but I’ve already been reading with you for some time. I’m looking for my first Porsche. I’m at my best age and I’m proud of 204 cm and you’re amazed, I really fit into my dream car in size. The choice was on a 997 FL Targa, which I’ve been testing today.http://suchen.mobile.de/…/18266039.html?original=PARK The test drive was gxxl or better said convincing. 8. The friendly said a low noise development is normal with the Targa. However, before the transfer, in the course of the inspection, one would check the mechanics of the roof and, if necessary, adjust them. The vehicle is first-hand and is sold with a 1 year warranty. The 111- points check is made. At the back he gets two new tires and the stone stroke is fixed by a painting. Now my questions: – Does the price, performance ratio fit? – With which further Do I have to calculate loss of value (with 3-year use and a driving performance of 10000KM/year)? – Do you have to pay attention to special problem areas at the Targa? I would be delighted about information and opinions about the vehicle.

Your assessment would be required
I would like to have your opinion on this offer. I actually come from the S-Class W220 group, but I am looking for something “newer” and possibly other. The question is, the car is 11 years old, but stands there like a 1, with only about 50,000km. The description in the ad is a bit poor, but there is BOSE, and air suspension and much more. Unfortunately you can’t look at anything or test driving at the moment. How do you see it? 11 years are not a cardboard handle. In principle, it’s all about getting an S-Class W222 from 2015 up for 42,000 €. Or would it be a real opportunity?

911ers in the city
Dear community, I would like to buy a fine car next spring (about 25-30k+-). Problem is, I don’t really need a car. My Saab has been driving me every morning and evening for 20-30 minutes through the city. Now I would like to have a Porsche for reasons of aesthetics and fun factor (I drove a 997 at the WE, think now of a 996 or Boxster). Question: does he take such a sad danger technically with or sulk it in 0,nothing? Bzw. even worse: does he deserve such a life? Greetings, Saabologist

Classic 356 or current 911?
Hello Porsche driver, let’s ask you a question. Imagine if you had the choice to get a classic Porsche 356 in top condition or a brand new 911er. What would you take? I’m interested in greeting, Andi

Purchase advice 996: Turbo, Turbo S or GT2?
Hello dear forum members and Porsche drivers, I would like to buy a Porsche 996 and need some expert opinions. For me there are two basic considerations when buying, the first is the everyday fitness, I would like to allow the Porsche with a season mark from May to October and use it as the sole vehicle (so certainly also for a Lake Garda holiday and an alpine pass tour, but also for shopping in the supermarket and the daily W eg into the work – about 10 km easy). The second important aspect to me is the maintenance of values, which is the highest in the case of vehicles with small quantities, which brings me to a 996 Turbo, Turbo S or GT2. There is between 50 and 70 TEUR, that would be worth it to me, whereby I would rather orient myself at the lower end. The small quantities of the Turbo S or GT2 seem to me to be a good argument for the maintenance of values, but are both also suitable for everyday use? on the one hand, with regard to the majority of short-haul journeys, on the other hand, also with regard to the maintenance costs such as inspection, spare parts etc. Who can give me an opinion or an assessment best from personal experience? Does someone use a Turbo S or GT2 as a everyday vehicle? Can someone like this recommend a car to me in good conscience or is the advice rather fingers off, prefer a normal turbo? Thank you for your opinion.
