    Hi there, I’m going with a crucial question right now. It’s about our 407 SW with 2 liter HDI. We’ve been driving the car for exactly 10 years (BJ2006) and amazing 208,000 kilometers. Overall we had some trouble with the car, but the last 1.5 years the car ran amazingly well. Somehow he seems to notice that our patience is coming to an end and he clings to life…and behaves relatively inconspicuously. Inspection at (210k) and after 10 years the timing belt should be changed – which probably will not be quite cheap. Perhaps the inspection costs are higher than the residual value of the vehicle – depending on what needs to be repaired. The decisive question: Should I take money again and bet that the good piece lasts another year (perhaps even two)? Which arguments speak from my point of view: – rusting does the 407 as well as Not at all. Body looks almost like new after washing – engine in itself still sounds very good. Jumps relatively well even in the cold (except for problems described below with the starter) – we have always had all inspections and (important) repairs carried out – so there is no maintenance jam What speaks against: – Coupling makes noises in idle mode (I suppose as a cause of the rear storage) and has to be changed if necessary – drive for almost 2 years with the error message “gas system defective”. Peugeot workshop finds no clear error in the corresponding memory and wants to gradually exchange the ECUs. I will not allow myself to do so. We ignore that as well as possible – tank indicator spins sometimes – starter sniper runs after when starting the engine – perhaps also has to be changed – And of course the continuous burner at 407: front wheel suspension makes again polter noises and the carrying joints are true ndlich over (for the certainly 5th time) – so I assume from a rather high invoice – 2000 Euro should be loose in it, maybe even more. And much more is unfortunately not worth the Peugeot. How do the opinions look about this? I am curious about it and maybe it helps me with the decision-making – thank you for it!

    Hello I have a 306 xrd wretch. because my agr (gas return valve) was defective and my engine did not have any power and I smoked nicely. But until now nobody could tell me for what I actually had the agr in my car. After the exchange I had the same effect zero power and the car smoked, so I plugged off the agr and the car goes back super full power and no longer smokes. what the reason is we I don’t eat but villeicht knows someone what but that’s not the real question. My question is why do I have an agr and what exactly does it do???

  • 93er 306 xt 101ps ticks and gets hot

    hi have only had a peugeot 306 xt of 93 for 2 days. he has 101 ps. he had the problem before that he starts well when he is cold and when he is warm no longer. I had to ask a friend if he is working on the causer while I pull on the underpressure hose. gets bad at the tank. since yesterday he also gets extremely foggy at the start and also the first 10 minutes of the ride. now he also gets hot all the time and that after 5 minutes. after 10 minutes I have to turn it off because it has 110 degrees and it concerns the little lamp “STOP”. then I have to let it cool down again because it does not start in the warm condition. that with the start my screwdriver interpreted as defective of the injection system as far as I can remember. the spare part however would have been sultry expensive and he could not say with 100% certainty if it is then too. what should I do? someone already had such a problem? so no man can drive, and i I’m afraid to stay there…. need urgent help because he still has to hold until my corrado is finished, which will definitely take another year…. thanks already!   • 306, 1,4ltr, 75hp timing belts slipped!!!

    HELP!! This morning the engine went out at the traffic light and did not jump any more. In the evening we towed the car and tried to put it on. That was probably wrong??? It was terribly clapping. At home in the garage we dismantled the valve cover and the cover of the timing belt. After turning the crankshaft on the camshaft nothing has happened, everything was clear and after turning the camshaft also visible: toothed belt teeth off!!! My questions: D the engine has 245000km. The engine should not be a freewheeler and therefore (see above “fearfully clapped” the valves and also the pistons have got something off. How should I proceed to decide whether a repair is worthwhile. Do it yourself would be conditionally possible. Head plan, new valves, valve shafts, ZKD, water pump, timing belts, tensioning roller. Costs, costs…. Please give me decision-experience aids!!
