  • Peugeot 406 driver’s seat defective

Hello, After a long time I report again. This time the existence of my 406 is at stake. In May the TÜV is due and my driver’s seat is broken. I.e., a cross-section of the seat frame is broken, so that the seat now shakes quite strongly (swivel chair). My workshop man says that the part can not be welded so easily, because it does not allow the material. Furthermore, the seat must be completely disassembled (because of the airbag). In addition, the conversion of the seat. Together with further repairs, which are due before the TÜV (brakes, track rod heads, exhaust…) the costs exceed the residual value of the vehicle. But I found in a large online auction house used seats, which seem quite inexpensive. The problem is that these seats are not suitable for any kind of use. What do you think, can I install an electric driver’s seat in my Peugeot, which does not have any electric seats from the house? Do all cables already lie there, so that I only need to connect them, or are there other conditions missing? If this is not possible, the seats are all the same, so that I can possibly use the frame and the rest of my “old” seat from an electr. seat? And how expensive would a seat be? Is there a change?

  • 508 allure seat quality with comfort seats?

Hello can someone (long-term) experience with the Peogeot seats report. Best of a frequent driver. I am superior to buying a 508 sw as an annual car, of course with the versatile adjustable comfort seats. Since I drive more than 60,000 km/p.a., I would be interested in experience values of other frequent drivers. Thanks already /edit: should own into the 508 forum

  • Tacho, problems & seat of the signal converter?

Greetings, need your help.. With my 406 (see Sig.) the speedometer went on strike again. When I go, it jumps immediately to 30km/h & so it always shows 30km/h too much, showing run perfectly straight up. Yes ok, I thought to myself easy thing, build it out & solve the cold soldering again. Nevertheless, I have the same problem as before… Then I changed the speed sensor on the gearbox (…What costs the world ) Nevertheless, my test remains The ServiceBox shows that my vehicle is a speed converter or a “detector tempomat housing”, which is supposed to convert the signals of the transmitter. TN: 1929SJ I ordered the part, and I want to install it straight, but I just don’t find the shitty part. I already found out that it should be behind the manual drawer. Okay. Expansion, Zv control unit, fan unit, clamped air motor & still a box but not that I have here in front of me ^^ I am actually d he thinks that this part doesn’t have, because I don’t have a cruise control, but if that’s what the ServiceBox tells me about my VIN will be like that …. I need your help. Where does this thing sit, and if I don’t have what else the mistake can be greetings

  • Coming Home Module in the Coupé?! Mechatronician possibly there? 😛

Hallösen Leo friends, have already a coming home module lying around since I had never found time to install it or to deal with it. Now the fingers itch that finally there is something doing 😛 The laying of the cables is known to me because of the “instruction”, only my problem would again be to distinguish from the cable salad which cable belongs to where behind the fuse box… Since today just as never a switching sketch or plan gets printed out I wanted to mi CH inquire if there is still a Coupe Freak among us who could possibly help me further =) I know that it is probably the “most simple” with a test device, I would have put it in place just where exactly with the one side probably all cables go through until at the voltage indicator/resistance/current what does but where with the other end?! Somewhere at the ignition?! I think most bevellings I will find only that I could get problems with the laying of the central lock. .. Do you know about this or give me a few tips?! I added the “Guide” to simplify my problem ^^ Thank you in advance =)

  • Which winter tires do you use?

I haven’t found such a topic yet, so I’m opening it here. Is there still another 406 driver. Which winter tires are optimal for the 406? What are you driving like this? Currently we drive on the drive axle: Bridgestone Blizzak Lm-30(6mm) and at the HA Dunlop Winter Sports 3D(4mm) We drive a maximum of 10000km a year, of which 4000km in winter. What can you buy there? It doesn’t have to be a particularly expensive tire, right? Wants to get me 2 new ones at the end of November.

  • Change of coupling at 406 2.0 16V year 05/1999

Hello, After I have put a whole batch of money into my Peugeot to get TÜV again (which also worked out), he now obviously comes to the clutch death anyway and squeaks when the clutch is activated and the clutch pedal can only be penetrated with partially increased resistance. In the opinion of the workshop the clutch has to be changed. I do have someone who can help me with this, but I still have some questions here. I hope you can help me. My engine type is EW10J4, which transmission it is, I don’t know (in any case a manual transmission). What does everything have to be dismantled to be able to expand the transmission? Is it enough to jack up the car at the front to expand the transmission or is a stage essential? Where does the OT-Geber (which should have been removed before) sit? Are the drive shafts just plugged, or are they still screwed on somewhere? If they have to be removed, what else do you have to pay attention to?

  • only theoretical: old 405 TD Built 91 with 406 HDI engine?

I am long-time owner of a 405 TD Kombi Bj. 91, still without a cat. Unfortunately, there will soon be the green environmental badge in my city. Therefore my question to all experts: is it possible to install the 406 HDI diesel engine into my old sweetheart? I have read something like this in forums from England. Yes, of course it is completely uninteresting economically, but I hang on to the old box.

  • Electric seat adjustment 407 Coupe

Hello for now, I’ve been in this forum for a long time, but new with a “Peugeot” here. I’ve had the 2.7 Ltr. Coupé with 204 hp for a week and am so far really positively surprised by the comfort and driving characteristics. But here comes my first problem and I hope the community can help me. The electric seat adjustment of the passenger seat does not make any noise! Nothing at all! Dead! The passenger seat can only move forward with the hand to let one get in the back. On the driver side the adjustment goes, however, the seat does NOT fold forward with the hand to allow entry to the rear. Not to mention an automatic ancestor of the seat….there’s nothing going forward there, also the steering wheel does not work up if I want to get off. Please to know if someone has already had and what to do. At the Peugeot dealer/workshop I was already able to find out more about it….I’m supposed to bring the car after appointment and leave it there for 3 days.
