  • 407 Automatic phenomenon

Hello there may have a “problem” with the 6 levels automatic with the peugeot 407 V6. with my automatics always a funny phenomenan occurs: if I have parked the car over night and then I drive to work the next day something is wrong with the switch points of the automatics. or is it true then no longer true?! I drive 30kmh switches the automatics into the 4 levels, 50kmh into the 5 levels etc, so far so good! I turn off the car at work, and after d he work I go then, then it is quite different. then he stays at 30kmh in the 3 level, at 50kmh in the 4 level. that’s funny, because the car sometimes stands at least as long as I have left it standing over night. 1. and that happens differently. the automatic switches as described at the beginning, I switch off the ono for 5,6,7,10min and then he switches again as after work. 2. I drive 30kmh and he is in the 4 level, when I think very briefly to the tip tronic and go back to D. then he just switches back to the 3 level and stays there even though he has always switched to the 4 level at 30. why is that so? what’s wrong? look forward to your answer.

  • Non-smoking set f. 406

Moin, recently discovered in the accessory catalogue for my 406 Coupe a use for the center console: is called “non-smoking set” & is (apparently) simply mounted over the ashtray. A large flap then closes the free space below the central armature panel (in front of the leather cuff of the gear lever). If I am actually quite chic, I don’t smoke either … 😉 Did one of you get this thing and know what it costs (original part)? Can you install it yourself? or does the Pug-man have to dismantle the old plastic parts (with the asher in) before? Greetings, seamur

  • 406 he dies while driving

Hello! I am (currently annoyed) driver of a Peugeot 406 Break ST, 2.0 l 16 V, 132 hp, EZ 08/97, mileage almost 130Tkm, at the time acquired by me as a new vehicle. The 406-series purred so far on the whole always quite uniformly, the engine shows in its running behavior no abnormalities. On the side about a year however, during the ride it comes to regular engine ossifications. which occur in all areas of use, from slow driving in the city At the same time, tachometers and speedometers show a continuous drop in their activities until the engine stops and dies. At high speed, it is sometimes, but not always, possible to restart the engine by turning it back into a lower gear (e.g. on d At a lower speed, the engine dies immediately and the passenger car remains lying down. Then the start of the engine always succeeds, but often only after several times activating the ignition key, i.e. several start attempts. Actually always (but not only then!) the problem occurs after the full fuelling of the vehicle, then regularly so after approx. 5-10 km drive. The problems, if they occur, are then mostly persistent for the duration of the journey. It can then happen that the r 406er “all a few meters” of this ride has the problems and stops. If you turn off the 406er then for some time (e.g. overnight), it may be that the problem does not occur for 14 days and more. But it is not always like that. And one more point: the described problems occur almost always only in the “operational warm” condition of the car, so only when it has run after a cold start some time. The fault memory of the vehicle shows no error! Who can here a Diagno and make recommendations? Thank you very much!

  • An old coupe, may I introduce?

Hi, I just had exactly 280,000 km on the clock. I took some pictures of the beautiful piece, unfortunately I only had the mobile phone available, so that the color doesn’t come over so nicely, because from the paint it is still perfect. I have to get up a total of over 400,000 km, so far it looks quite good. Had a wild accident a few weeks ago, but I hope this doesn’t happen anymore. I’m really completely satisfied with the Coupe, especially it’s really a rarity in German I’d rather have a car that you don’t see on every corner anyway.

  • 407 SW160 Platinum Seat heating and engine question

Is it normal that the seat heating in leather seats feels trots stage 3 is only noticeable late (about 5 min)? Is only the rear part of the seat heated or the backrest too? At the cold start my 2.2 petrol engine sounds like a diesel. It is so right. I have oil on it. The at Peugeot it meant it could be a cracked camshaft. As soon as the engine gets temperature the noise is gone. Oh yes, mine is from the end of 2004 and has nearly 160000 km long distance down. Thanks for your answers. Greetings Marco

  • Reviews 407 Coupé V6 HDI??

Servus! 😉 I’m currently interested in a Peugeot 407 Coupé V6 HDI. Do you have any reports, information… (everything there is)… for me??! At the moment, the following things scare me off: – vehicle weight (which weighs more than the 6Cyl-E-Class of my father). Can you still hunt with it over the country road? Sure, he’s not as agile as ‘n Seat Leon or something, but it’s supposed to be fun. – Load (how does it look if you use 3-4 Pe rsonen + full trunk is on the way…? – Can you really drive the car only with 235/45 R18 in winter? That’s an expensive fun or? – How is the newer RT4? I’ve already driven with the RT3, but the navigation is not so stupid. However, the RT4 offers a 30 GB hard drive (from the navigation software) and that sounds good. – Quite cheekily asked: how is the quality. In my circle of acquaintances everyone says: oooh je, buy you only no Peugeot, the last scrap boxes. However, I now drive Passat and it made me feel worse than the 407 in the interior e.g. since you satisfied? As I said, I am grateful for all the information! Greetings from the Eifel!

  • 406 Break does not attract both LPG and gasoline….Possible causes?

Hi guys, my 2-litre 406 break (Bj. 11/1997) with LPG system does not affect both LPG and petrol. I wanted to attribute the evil to the LPG system first (which often mucked already) until I could detect a worsening on petrol (the first time I switched it off so I didn’t notice it). Now it’s clear, however, that it doesn’t work well with both systems. Unfortunately, the break doesn’t have an OBD connection yet! Shit! what could be the causes? Lambdasonde? nsensor Can you check the ZÜndmodul somehow? The candles are quite new and not 3,000 KM old. Do you really need ideas? Buying such an ignition module for pure “test purposes” is also quite stupid, as the part costs well over EUR 100. And also the Lampdasonde hits with EUR 117. Who knows how to get on the track of the evil best? Thanks in advance! Gruss imo

  • 406 – 97 kw Bewnzin , year of construction 10/96 yellow engine control light – jerking

Hello guys, am already relatively desperate and turn to you , because I need the car every day urgently So for some time the yellow engine control light shines again and again with my 406er and he takes short time no more gas .. That happens again and again at irregular intervals, mostly in city traffic In idle times he goes up and down (which however does not bother me and he NEVER goes out) Me also comes before that he somehow does not his performance on the highway .145 goes just now So I was already in the workshop and the following was done : spark plugs, petrol filter, air filter, contact spray.. So 140 € away, did nothing I thought ok, I drive to Peugeot service : error memory was read out and it only came out “sporadic error mixture preparation” I asked what I should swap, he said that could be anything and the car would be old etc. (again 30 € away Yes OK, but I did not have the The car has made fresh TÜV, tires new, brakes first new…. Besides he has only 150,000 on the speedometer and runs otherwise really well, was serviced So my question: Did someone ever have this and know what it was ultimately about ?? Or what would you try next ?? I sprayed Liqui Moly throttle valves cleaner in the air pipe next to the air filter , 2 cans but that didn’t bring anything.. I also feel like he has to buy a new one. Performance doesn’t have either So I’m grateful for EVERY TIP !! LG

  • Cooler fan, strange behavior

Hey guys, my little one made me light problems yesterday. First again to the vehicle, It’s nn 406, built in 1998, 152tkm 2.0L gasoline RVY., switch. Now to my problem: Yesterday we went to a slightly larger city with a lot of stop & go. Of course, in city traffic the cooling water temperature rises to about 90-100degree C. Okay all good so far, but then the ****** fans just don’t start to run. I do the air conditioning because i have The fans are running as well. Mistakes Ok meanwhile the traffic lights turned on green & I have windows down and heating fully on! Off into a side street. Start the dock until the interior heating has cooled the vehicle to some extent to 100 degrees C down. Okay what do now? just thought to start the car anew! JAAA at once go on fan at level “zerhacker” & the car has driven backwards soon as much as the bubbles have D Well okay continues for the first time, because no loss of cooling liquid visible, we drive on again. At the finish Arrived Ersteinmal cool down. After the visit to the Greek & miserable food I once let the car warm up. Normal goes with the air conditioning the fans, at about 90 degrees C small level on, just before 90 degrees the middle & then nevertheless the very big level! Pfect as it should be! But what was that one time? Wanted soon on vacation in the mountains with Do you think that a relay has hung or something? Greetings

  • 406 Break 2,2 HDI provision anomaly fuel supply

My 406 Break, 2,2 HDI personally got the additive tank filled up by me 😉 In the friendly way much too expensive. Now the error message has to be put back, at the free workshop you can not get it. It would only go to Peugeot. Just there and has to take the car there on Monday morning and you take it in between. ZITAT: it would take a little longer at the 406………………………. THAT???????? Who can give me a qualified statement??? or has had it done before. I thought, diagnostic device on it, ECU tell and finished 🙁 What can the cost??? The friendly meant from 25–75 Euro.. THANK YOU FOR YOUR FARM REPLY Greeting Patrick
