  • Used Espace – perplexed

Hello was already looking a lot. From new cars over Klitschen. I can’t get any further. I am now by chance pushed to an Espace. It doesn’t look bad at all! I don’t have any experience with it. Need an everyday car for the family urgently. Currently still a Golf 4 with 2 doors for 5 people. I tell you a funeral game. In addition, the golf has to be finished for TÜV. Small things, but also sometimes just 500€. Cross acceleration sensor, Lambdasonde, Wackelkontak t airbag cable. Last year’s new timing belts, because has broken. mileage 68000 km and from Bauj. 2000. Is a 1.4 16v Now to the Espace The car is supposed to have 88000 down and is from 2004. Condition tick better than my golf. Has climate, park sensors and other technical frills. Mainly we find it great because of its place offer and because the price is probably ok. Should cost around 500€. However, one would also take the golf with 1500€ in payment and I would need there a It’s a 2.0 T The fuel consumption is probably quite neat. But well, it is also a thick ship and we need space. What do you think of this espace, especially year of construction and type? Are other data needed for this? Are the realistic prices for purchase and sale?

  • JK 2004 Brake HA right grinds

Hello all, We have had an old Espace as a truck for two weeks. After a few days I noticed that the rear wheel brake on the right side grinds. At the tyre change I then noticed that the lever for the parking brake does not go back completely. I then tried to make it accessible with WD40. However, he always had a spot where he was stuck. But on the side it was not because this came from the back of the groove when the brake was released. Al the new saddle on it. With it the spring was three times stronger, that is no problem when solving the parking brake. :::But::: 1.) Also with the loop after the airing etc. the brake disc. ??? Normal? With my previous cars there was no such thing. 2.) It suddenly came up, and STOP as well as the Dreieick with P lighted up. 20m later just reached the edge strip, I stopped, because the parking brake has apparently not opened properly and the wheel with slow speed. rt blocked. > I then picked up the car, and hung out the hand brake rope, and could then drive the 5 km home. Does anyone have a tip? I don’t think the parking brake has to be adjusted or? VG Ulrich

  • Deficiencies espace 4 ,1,9dci Bj.2005

Hello , who had similar flaws?http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/aktion/StartThread.html# For the first time I am a trained car driver and get annoyed by Renault and their workshops. At 30000 km the rear Bremdisks came in so that I had to exchange them with wheel bearings.Material price 200€ , so everything new at the front as well as at the back that was already about 60€. Then went on the good lighting machine (850 € incl. installation????) ,good because despite Op in the knee and elbow I wanted to like how I finally found one after 16 hours on the PC, because all were sold out. For 300€ I then found one, but the installation was not of cardboard despite my knowledge, after 4 hours I finally had you in. At 56000km were then both track rods and a carrying joint broken, which is riveted, changed. Think, there is clear that the cart is built on wear and if you can not screw the thing is quite expensive in maintenance. But d a car (even if I hate it, it had to take over from my wife, since she now drives a Mini Cabrio) is very comfortable to drive, the diesel consumption is also hard in order. The insurance with all-inclusive is very cheap. But be careful, who does not make the vehicle at Abzocker Renaultwerkstatt customer service sold (e.g.in Lindau) , gets nothing from Kulanz, you are being fooled e.g. defective Lima check for 25€ plus tax??????? 2 minutes incl. setup time What is still very annoying me r Value loss, after 60000km ,NP 34000€ ,EZ 4/2005 still worth 600€ ,http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/aktion/StartThread.html#no Thanks then I drive to the bitter end!

  • Espace 2.2 dci Engine damage at 115,000km

Hello! Our Espace BJ 2004 has already suffered an engine damage at 115,000km. Our Espace has a soot particulate filter since the beginning of March. At the beginning of April there was a routine oil change. On the journey into the Easter holidays the penultimate week has then suddenly a clacker on the engine. We then continued with 80km/h and at the next exit down from the highway. At first the clacking was quite quiet then became increasingly louder. No warning people pointed to a problem! The man called to help from the next Renault dealer suspected a valve damage. He also noticed that on the engine oil snippet in the engine compartment the wrong engine oil was on it. So none of that is intended for cars with soot particulate filters. But I do not know if cars with which the filter is retrofitted then also need this other engine oil. Then the good man drove away again, because he no spare vehicle that could have stored our holiday luggage, for us and for the next week obviously already had too many orders – and moreover it was already Friday evening! Then we called our Renault dealer in our place of residence, who made the filter installation and the oil change. He offered to bring his Espace demonstration car by us for exchange. So he came the 250 km with the demonstration car on the trailer to the motorway exit I don’t think that many car dealers will deliver a car 250km to their customers on Friday evening. After all, I now know what the mobility guarantee is!;-) Today, the dealer then informed us that the engine is completely gone and costs a replacement engine with installation 10,000€. He suspects a crankshaft bearing damage. Supposedly, however, he did not “open” the engine at all. In addition, he gave us a I don’t know what to think of all this now. I find €10,000 a bit fierce. Why shouldn’t I ask the Renault customer service if it’s normal for their cars to rip up the huff after 115,000km? It’s something that’s unsavory. That’s our fourth and most impressive espace. We’ve always been very satisfied with it. What do you think about it?

  • Renault espace IV 150tkm 2.2 dcii 150 PS Initiale

Hello, I just wanted to hear your opinion. I have a Grand Espace 2,2 dci initiale with 150 Ps and 150tkm down. Must say, full workshop picking at the Renault dealer. Every year oil changes, customer service, just everything with cover even in the book (stamp). If the problem I got in the engine a clinking noise, you have heard for months, sounds a bit louder and defective, but my dealer said after a detailed examination, 2 days in the car dealer’s house I should leave it that way, It’s nothing bad, I’m just supposed to watch whether it gets louder or quieter. It’s been 4-5 months now and the noise hasn’t changed. I’m already driving 3 thousand kilometers at the time. It’s going through full and runs normal. What do you think of the statement. You think you can trust it. I’m not an experienced espace driver, I just switched to this car, which is a real wonder of space. I’d be happy about your opinion. Mfg and thank you Fire power

  • Espace 04 1.9dci doesn’t pull.

Hello, so I have a huge problem, and that’s what our >Espace doesn’t really want to pull. I’m already wondering what it can be about. So when I start everything completely normal. Then I drive on and if I just let go of the clutch and then want to give gas, then it doesn’t accelerate. So little bs. I drive on, 20kmh I step clutch switch into the 2nd gear, let clutch go and go on the gas. But then nothing comes. Only after 2 seconds after the completed coupler advance This is sometimes really annoying, because when you feed on the mountain, you switch and until the car pulls again, it has lost 10-15kmh of speed again. And then I can switch back again. Well then I was at the Wrkstatt and they made a date first. And then the car was with them all week long, and then the data controller read out, re-described, exchanged an air volume meter, a k abelbaum changed and filled them then also. Nice nice. Only now a week after this visit it was already again and I have to say, I find the workshop stupid. Now I have paid so much for something, what can it still be??? I have now heard from another workshop, I should learn to re-learn the ECU. How exactly is this procedure to be carried out? plus cable of the battery from and wait 10 minutes, and then start again and run 5 minutes la eat and then go through the speed range and drive 50km differently. ? That’s how I read it at a different car manufacturer? Do you have any tips for me??

  • Competent Renault workshop for 2.2l 150 hp diesel engine

Does anyone know a Renault workshop in the district of Mönchengladbach, Viersen Krefeld, Neuss, which understands itself on the 2.2l 150 hp engine of the Espace 4? After now three workshops have experimented at my expense without having solved the problem (black smoke), I hope to get a tip here where I can get competent help.

  • 3.0 l diesel pump Espace

Tach together, we have problems with our Grand Espace. (BJ 2008, 135000km) After the inspection, 2 weeks ago, the car jumped badly and at the beginning of every drive took the gas badly. At some point it went only with starter aid and hand pump. The car then ran perfectly and could also be restarted if it did not stand longer than approx. 1.5 hours. Three different ADAC angels have recognized the air is pulled, which of course have different reasons ka nn. The car is now standing at Renault and it is “presumed” that it is the diesel pump. Reperature costs approx. 5000 Euro. We do not really believe in a defective pump. What if it is only the pipes that pull air somewhere (not quite improbable after the inspection)? Can you not only replace the valves / clean and not immediately the whole pump. I know that the replacement would be connected with many working hours (engine out). Who has experience or knows a good factory for a second opinion somewhere in the Ruhr area? Last one of you listen!

  • Electrical problems GJK – (almost) nothing goes more: AI, indicator, taillight,… – Cause? Manual?

In the context of retrofitting AHK I “deleted” the GJK: Electrical is not sooo heavy (for this I also had a company letter). When determining the wires on the rear lights I noticed that the rear light is not working on the left side and no electricity is coming. Checking the –super achievable – fuses in the engine compartment resulted in a defective 7.5er, which I replaced. Previously in the engine compartment the small ones tested without defective. When pulling the dashboard fuses with pointed tongs there was once a short time a with the plastic gripper you can’t really pull the small fuses, because you have to squeeze them down (with other cars it wasn’t necessary) The problem is now: there’s almost nothing left. Motor starts, but AI doesn’t work – everything is dark (even no tacho); no blinker, interior light, tail light etc. The alarm light is shining – but turn signals don’t work. With the electric AHK I come so naturally nic I didn’t trust myself on the road either. I checked: again all the fuses in the engine compartment (also the big ones); almost all small ones in the dashboard; disconnecting battery (helped with the Zafira more often). Condition unchanged. Operating instructions unfortunately there was no one. Which relays or other/hidden fuses could it still be? Closing is not possible. LED lights on FB. Rear flap is then closed. Doors but not. Windscreen wiper works. Ignition does not work. 20th fuse between the front seats is intact. What is striking is that you try to turn on the ignition (do not leave it on), a LED lights up in the AI. Between kmh display and nav display; just above the center of the speed numbers. If you then let on, the LED lights up. If you start without starting the ignition beforehand, the LED does not light up. When trying to ignition, you can hear a noise from the engine compartment. Even longer battery disconnection does not change anything. If you pull the right small 30A fuse in the engine compartment, it goes off (in the direction of travel the left of the two 30A fuses). What is the fuse for? Isn’t the manual as pdf? At Renault, I find only that of the model V – with other functions in the fuse box. At times, a buzz in the engine compartment was detectable.

  • Renault Espace Built 2007 Diesel 2.0 Science(?) fap 173PS

Hello I have to separate myself from my Astra for family reasons and need a bigger car. I now have a Renault Espace 3(I believe) from ez.2007 with 2.0 dci Motor 173PS. With alcantara leather, a lot snap, climate automatic… the car drives well and it also works everything. It has 150tkm and is supposed to cost about 600€. Are there negative things that are known about the engine, or you can recommend the motor. Don’t really know me at Renault. and does not want to make any mispurchasing. Greetings Holger
