Hi guys, I bought a Calibra Bj. 91 yesterday. To the car: Well it looks like NEW! Very well maintained, and the previous owner was from BJ 1934… 1st hand. The car is checkbook maintained..and I have a folder receipts … the grandpa even had everything done nice at Opel like e.g.: brake system, coupling, cooler and new tires lol everything always nice at Opel…. So I thought I could not do anything wrong to buy it… engine is also dry, now I only have a problem… m…It starts with rusting fortunately only in one place. Back at the wheel running on one side… Not much you can see it hardly just to prevent what should I do? I once heard the spatling and that does nothing!? Where should I have it eliminated? In a free or Opel direct? How high are the costs in about?? Ohso for the Cali I paid 1.990€ for it but with one year guarantee!!! Thank you very much for many answers!

Opel Calibra x20xev goes out and doesn’t start anymore
Moin all together, have now since a year the problem that my Calibra bj. 1996(97?) has the following problems. It started with a rutting engine which after several exchanged parts has laid down. After that it started, that the car during the drive (just at the stand at the traffic light) as well as while the drive simply went out and then did not jump any more. Sometimes the car starts again when I take off the relays in the footroom passenger side and again plug in or give full gas during the start attempt. Up to now the petrol pumps relays, petrol filters, oil filters, gasoline pump, air mass meter, coolant temperature sensor, crankshaft sensor, ignition cable, spark plugs, ignition coil, oil change, air filter. In addition, the consumption is increased at about 13 liters, but what could lie on leaky exhaust manifolds?. Am with the nerves really at the end, was already in several workshops and no one wants to find what. Does anyone possibly have an idea what the whole could be?

Motor conversion
Moin is just looking for a “project car”, and I came across the Calibra a few days ago. What my problem is, in Austria there are no 2.0 16v turbos but one of the already felt rusty. Before that I have to say I would like to get the already somehow on 230-260ps without which the engine after felt 1year has a damage. Is this possible? Have seen me several nice 2.0 8v with approx. 130tkm – 160tkm even a fl 2.0 16v with 65tkm. Etc etc What should I do best? Which engine would be best suited to reach the ps number. If in the eyes of the 2.5i v6 (in terms of space the eig should also go) 2.0 16v Turbo 2.0 16v have no experience with a motor conversion, would let such a thing be done by a professional. I am very grateful for every answer I get, always like to learn about it.

Cars don’t start
Moin Moin . My Calibra with engine C20ne sometimes just goes off and then doesn’t start. Only after several attempts he comes. I have no idea what that can be. Maybe someone knows about it.

N2O injection ineffective?
Moin! A well-known one of me drives calibra, 2L 8v 115ps, believe 92 or 93 year of construction, knows net exactly. Has a N20/Nos system been installed a few days ago, which according to Tuner should bring ~50ps. But nothing there, the plant does not bring anything at all. Something can not be right. He noticed that it smells quite nice after the gas, if it is used, whether the line is not completely dense? Well, at least it did not suffice in 1on1 against a 300kg heavier 25ps stronger car, that says already everything. my theories: -Leck in the line: There is no or only hardly any nitrous oxide in the intake tract. -Lambdasonde broken: would then not know that there is more acid, with which one can burn more sprite… -Einspritznoses too weakly would be great if you could help there perhaps! btw. what diagnosis has the calibra randomly from this year?

I have to convert my manta to the 3,0i 24V machine from omega a. does any of you have an exact list of what to change so that the tuv also approves? or is there perhaps a page on the web? is it even possible to register the car on oldtimer? for tips I would be very grateful. mfg Roland

Cooler defective + liquid?
Hello together, The Opel of my Opas….a Opel Calibra A ~ 115 hp, 85 kW (automatic) had a cooler damage, would replace it now. Therefore my question.. which coolant should I use here? Don’t really know me there, is therefore also the “1. project” in this kind of car. Is also rather an emotional action 🙂 It just hangs on it and with almost 270,000 km the really first major mechanical problem. On the Internet the spirits argue which color and mixture the coolant must have. The current or that what ended was red / rather dark violet. Therefore my question is what makes sense? G12+? G13?
