  • Automatic air conditioning/dehumidification

Moin, yesterday we had our first bigger exit with the “new” omi. Four people were on board. The temperatures moved around the 1-3 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, the windows ran on at the back again and again and despite the switched on car function of the climate control only to get free if I had pressed the button dehumidification and de-icing of the windows. With my old car the air was always dehumidified with the switched on automatic. Now I immediately in the Bed It says that when cooling (cooling compressor) is switched on, the air is cooled and dehumidified. Further, it says that the operation of the coolant is only possible at temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius and the cooling (cooling compressor) is shut down below this temperature. Does this mean that the air is no longer dehumidified with dehumidification from 5 degrees Celsius down despite the auto function? What are your experiences? Please give me a hint about the correct operation of the automatic air conditioning system. Furthermore, my wife complained violently that despite pressing the air distribution button to the front and rear footroom no warm air arrived at her feet behind. What did I do wrong? Are the openings for forced ventilation at the omi as with other cars also under the rear bumper, i.e. under the “corns” on the fender? Many questions! Thank you! 😉 Lanius

  • Türpin driver’s door doesn’t quite come with…

Hello, I have for 2 weeks the problem that the door pin of the driver’s door when unlocking the vehicle with the FB does not come all the way up and I can not open the door for you. If I open the FB over the lock in the door everything works as usual. Could it be on the winter cold that there are some plastic particles deformed and something is blocked. Or is there something stuck over time? Or has the actuator become tired? Did someone have the same pro Blem? I don’t think I’ll get away with taking off the disguise… I’d be grateful for clues.

  • 10W40 instead of 5W40

Hello guys, let me know again! I had my Omega on the WE for the oil change in a free workshop. Now the chief mechanic there instead of 5W40 (as it was before) filled in 10W40. I forgot to say and he looked in the specification for Omega. Actually he could also have looked into the service booklet, but that’s another topic…. Question is, what do in now with the 10W40 in the engine. Should I let it in, tear down my 7500km and afterwards again the 5W40? Or would you throw out the 10W40 and change it immediately? Annoying thing like that (if you don’t do everything yourself!). Thank you for your answers, greeting Markus

  • Windshields fogged at 4°C

So my problem is this, the outside temperature drops to approx. 4 degrees, then all the windows start to fog. Then a real water film is formed on the windows and I have no clue where it could come from and why it starts at approx. 4 degrees. I have tried everything already with the climate automatic, so with climate, without climate, completely out, maximum temperature etc… But it remained so far without success, maybe has ever Some of you have a tip on what it might be, it’s partially white so bad that I have a blower at level 9 and just set up on the windshield and then just get so much free that I can see the road reasonably.

  • I did it…

Hello together, yes, I did it, I bought an Omega B Caravan, a petrol 2,0 16V Built 97 with 86,000km. At the test drive everything was OK. He ran like butter, everything dry and only 290€ and he also took my old cart in payment. Allowed, signs to and from home, what should I say: At home the engine threw oil without end. Well, that’s what the dealer fixed again. Some seal on the oil filter flange had ve He gave me a rental car free of charge and even brought my car back home. Today he drove to work and at 120km/h in the 5th gear at once a slight jerking and in the dashboard a yellow warning lamp goes on with a motor and a flash on it. What is that again? Emergency running program??? Does that have something like that? It had started to rain. Water on the ignition cables or in the distributor? Or what is this supposed to be? ? Is that something bad? He actually went on normally. Sometimes I had the feeling of the engine swallowed up a little. But I’m new to Opel, and I can’t say it all like that. Never had an Opel before. Maybe an Opel has to run like this. I have now everything fogged in with Caramba and again an appointment with the dealer. What can be that, have no desire to let me tell one of the horse’s dealers. He said the engine wouldn’t be able to If you go under-tour, then it would swallow, over-grease and then the Lambda probe would send out an error message. Is that correct? But at 120 in the 5th gear you do not drive under-tour. At 50 in the 5th o.k. greeting omimatze

  • Opel upper class / Premium

***************************************** Despite previous announcements, Opel also has a look at the smallest car segment: “I don’t want to exclude that we offer a small car like the Trixx”, said the European boss. In addition, General Motors is planning to build a new top model, said Opel boss Hans Demant of the “Automobilwoche”: “The chances for a new flagship are better than 50 percent.” A decision will be made at the latest at the beginning of 2007. Opel brings the Antara off-road vehicle to the market. ***************************************** from the current mirror. My question: What kind of top class will this be ? Do you know more about it ? Are there any pictures ?

  • Is that worth it? Omega 2.5 TD

Hello Omegagemeinde, in winter it was very cheap to buy a 97 Omega 2.5 TD. Disadvantage of the car is that it loses oil somewhere and runs a little rough. Furthermore, it rusts down at the doors and at the rear wheel runs. Ever my question, since in any case the head has to go down, let’s check whether this is still worth the preparation, or rather sell in parts. Workshop with equipment would be available, as well as sound screwdriver knowledge. To my defective I think, I would also like to know where the Omi has its flaws with regard to the possible oil loss. It definitely comes from the driver’s side, but I can’t find anything, but it oils like sow. What I also noticed, it has an additional charge air cooler (since 172 hp) that the said charge air cooler is quite oily, or its supply lines. Are charge air coolers. norm. net operated without oil? Or does that come from somewhere. On the normal cooler I could find no oil traces on the front side. *Edit: Car has 305 tkm on it* THX for your help

  • Cooler problem

My car doesn’t cool properly. It’s just solved with the Bosch service (injection nozzle problem). But at higher speeds the engine gets too hot. The type of Bosch service says he reads the engine temperature with his diagnosis device. What the diagnostic device indicates is also indicated on the temperature indicator inside in the scales. But if the engine temperature is already over 100 degrees, the cooler remains at about 70 degrees. Thermostat valve (new part) and water pump (used part) have i The Bosch type says that the additional electric pump in the cooling circuit makes funny noises and is probably broken. But I thought it is only important for the heating. Furthermore, the Bosch type means that the visco coupling already has play and should be replaced. When I replaced the water pump I removed the fan with coupling and checked the partial-is-caputt criteria as indicated in the Etzhold. Therefore, it should be fine. I need advice : Can the cooler be clogged? Can I then clean it? If so how and what? Should I rather replace the cooler? New part / used part? Where in the Lüneburg/Hamburg area do I get a part like this at short notice and with what costs do I have to reckon with? How much time do I have to plan for a possible. cooler replacement? What should I do with my viscoco clutch? Does one have a good tip for me how to get the cooling system floated again. I know many questions at once, but I want to e still with the car on Friday on vacation. And now time runs away. Uli

  • Air conditioning and cooling water temperature

Hello Guy`s, I noticed today that my cooling water temperature at speeds up to 80 km/h and below and activated air conditioning (manual system, no automatic) rises up to 100 degrees and slightly above. At speeds beyond 80 km/h the temperature normalizes again (probably due to the wind). Cooling water level is also normal. However, it rises really only so extremely with switched on air conditioning. My questions: Can it be that the air conditioning the Cooler fan “turns off” the current? If I turn on the fuse and the cooling water has the above temperature, wouldn’t the fan have to start (doesn’t it)? Greeting Herbert

  • To the Omi-B caravans beyond the 150hp

Moin! Since I plan a change of vehicle in the near future, but I am not sure if it will stay with Opel (at the time 2000 Astra-G Caravan) I wanted to ask here a bit… either n A4/A6 Avant, n Avensis or halt Vectra-C or Omega b Caravn… but then what is strong with the Omega… so either the 2.6 V6 with 180hp or the 3.2V6 with 211 (was or) PS…what do you advise me more…? maintenance? repair? durability? I know about the larger audio motors… which are yes very robust…how is it with the opelz? Did the last Omegas (2001-2003 in about) still have childhood diseases?
