  • Alternator change or not????

Hello ! So make me my thoughts, what next could give up the mind and have come so on my alternator. Got the car now for 2 years. Did I happen at the cadet then and was not exactly pleasant to come to work in the morning because the battery is sucked empty. Well, my question, should one exchange such parts for new ones for precaution or is that not necessary and one waits until the first signs occur??? LG Nadine

  • Cali moth – for years….

Hello all, I have a 2.0 16V Last edition. 88TKM and everything original. The car should become a vintage car. The underbody and the cavities were preserved last year at the classic car specialist. The winter is over. From today (seasonal license plate) I can also drive again. Unfortunately the winter break did not do my Cali so well. In the garage was a large oil stain (actually a lake). As it looks at first glance the head seal. Actually I wanted this With proper oil loss and finished tires this will certainly be nothing with the TÜV. But it also makes no sense to put in a lot of money now and then put in the garage with new tires for a few years. I think I will moth it right away and start the repairs only in a few years – how do you see that? What should I take into account when mothing so that he will be well over the next years of course he is parked in a garage. I am grateful for all the tips. Thank you very much Andreas

  • Calibra Turbo – value of the car?

Hello, I have a Calibra Turbo from 1993 with 215 tkm from 1st hand on the watch stand with me, completely original (no lowering, with all letterings, without phase etc.). Car is check book maintained and has no technical defects (all-wheel, climate, Turbo everything possible). From the outside there is no rust (wheel runs etc.), I still have to look under floor. Except on leather and sliding roof he has everything important on board (airbag, climate etc.). ssiker pick up (have already my Vectra Turbo) , or is it more for the end consumer in the kilometers? What could the car realistically still be worth to a lover ? Thanks and greeting

  • The Uglyest Calibras – Photo Collection

In agreement with the moderator, I will open a thread in which only pictures and comments about the shadow side of the beautiful Calis are posted, namely the brutal and ugly verbathe. I have recently encountered many Calis, which are absolutely terribly unsightly fashioned, with monster faces and such DEATH-HISSE tuning attempts, which actually achieve exactly the opposite. The Calibrans of such vehicles do not fear any such terrible spoiler. urück, in some people I have the feeling that they deliberately cover up the Cali, because you can’t be so blind at all. An example: http://seker-tuning.de/B_monster_opel_calibra.JPG Be happy about your examples. Note: Please stay peaceful! Provocations from other forums etc. will be reported immediately.

  • Oil tub Question what’s up there?

Hello, I’m new here. I inherited the Calibra (2.0l 1992 136tkm) from my father and of course he loses oil slightly. But I want to keep it (drive 518Touring). I am pleasantly surprised by the consumption (7,3l fully loaded at 130km/h)!!! I once got the seal for the round part that is installed in the front of the oil tank, because I thought it would come out there. There’s also a cable on it. Is that the Ól pump? Can I change the seal without taking off the oil tank, so just the three screws. Since I got 2 seals from Opel (outside/inside?) I think that the oil tank has to be removed as the inner part falls inwards, right? I found nothing in the search!

  • How many Calibra Cliff Motorsport Editions have been built?

Hello together, think about getting me a Calibra (136 HP, Cliff Edition). Is this model recommended and what should I pay attention to when buying it? As with all cars, there are certainly certain weak points with this model, which you know very well. Had already been an Astra convertible years ago, but I’m not familiar with the Opel yet. How many “Cliff” have been built at all, or were they not limited? If I better go to another variant of the Ca libra should grab, so please give me a few tips. Running speed is about 155.000km, year 12/1996. Are 2850 EURO reasonable, or too much? Thanks for your answers. MfG paterman

  • Machine boils off…wackler or defect at the thermoswitch???

Hello, I had to have an unusual experience a few days ago. And that was the temperature of my 3.0 V6 shot up into the red area – and that at -12°C outside temperature. Of course, I’m interested in how it came to this. First I suspected the fan motors along with fuses, because they didn’t start when the climate was switched on, which is usually the case… Furthermore, I found that the terminal 4 in the central fuse box (according to the manual there must be a 15 Ampère fuse) is not occupied – no contacts in it, which could take a fuse – very mysterious…. Since I did not know any further and the car had cooked, I had to leave it standing….. The next day I had to make a ride (outside temperature -1°C) and tried to put the climate back into operation – and look, both fan motors were running – impeccable. But it is inexplicable to me why the fan motors mi t climate sometimes work and sometimes not; and without climate not at all?!?? My suspicion now applies primarily to the thermoswitch (if the omega has something like that). In my Corsa A it was once broken and then the fan motor didn’t jump on either….. How can I check/replace/bridge it if that’s what it is? Or is it electronically otherwise regulated by the omega? And where is the cooling water thermostat (suspecting moment Numero 2) and is this perhaps electronic I know that’s a lot of questions, but maybe someone can help me… Thank you so much, Vince.

  • Oil leak on turbocharger

Moin, drive an Omega 2.5 DTI year 03.2002 and had to have the turbocharger replaced at 110,000km due to oil loss. After now 3000km in 8 weeks it drips again. Is this a general weak point of this engine. Have with the predecessor BMW engine (130 hp) had no problems at all with the turbo at 270.000km. Or can the workshop have made a mistake when installing it? Did anyone ever have similar problems with the 2.5 DTI engine?

  • Extend or disconnect immobilizer ?

Hello together … I hope that one of you can help me. And I have a later built-in immobilizer from Bosch in my Cali inside. Now I lit up the battery lamp once during the ride and it went out to me. Then I wanted to start again, but there was no ignition on the station wagon. But the starter didn’t work. After about 5 minutes waiting everything went great again. Now I recently put in a new Lima and battery, because the Lima only 11Volt load 3 weeks ago the same thing happened to me again. I wanted to go to work in the morning and after it was a bit cold I turned on the seat heating. There also the battery lamp lit immediately and it went out again to me. The same again, no ignition on the station wagon, but the starter goes… Now I want to ask if someone can tell me how to disconnect the immobilizer or what kind of cables I have to cut. . Would be very happy if someone could help me!!! Thanks already in advance…

  • Calibra winter tire 205/55? not registered?

Hello, I have a question about the winter tires. I have a Calibra 2.0 ’94 built year. I have normal 195/60 gullis and then I have to rim the original Opel calibra 205/55. The “problem” is: the 195/60 ‘ger are registered but the 205/55 are not registered. May I drive with them now or not? I mean they are original from nem Opel Calibra. and how much would the cost of having them registered? (you don’t need a credit card or? is it all original?!) greetings July to
