  • Bosch test bench – Z18XE lacks performance (!??)

Hi, was on Friday in the Bosch workshop once due to track and they had there test bench there. After a short consideration I am over there.. Bad thing. Someone stole power from me.. Z18XE, F13CR, EDS Phase 1, E85 with Piggybox (but goes from the speed/acceleration like SP, if not better), 147 Tkm on the clock… Performance : 786 KW . It should be 92 in series and 103 According to EDS. Well, what’s going on there?? danger was something around E20. And Piggybox. However, the P was a little funny, not a blower, on the expression you can see not even the revolutions, but only km/h and kw, not even NM or pressure.. What do you think the result is useful or for the ton? If useful, who stole my performance? At the expression of the funny test bench. Still, that is a freeman with a Bosch test bench, not an original boot service.

  • Good 16V engines, what competition does the C20XE have?

Hello, after the question of the best 16V engine of all time has arisen in the Calibra forum, I would like to start a thread. The C20XE is always called one of the best 16V engines in the 2-litre class. I had a long time such an engine (with considerably more than 150hp) and was really enthusiastic. However, there are certainly other manufacturers that have put the good aggregates on their feet. For example, I think of the S14 engine (built in the E30) M3 and E30 320is). I would particularly like to address the 2.0 version of the 320is (192hp) because it has the same engine capacity as the C20XE. The 320is is even better from the basic data (specific power, specific torque, medium pressure) than the C20XE. However, the C20XE is at the forefront of the specific efficiency. One should perhaps also say that the engine of the 320is is quite at its development limit (single throttle is already standard). Here is a link to the test report of the 320is. I ask for a factual discussion without polemics and regular table holds ciao

  • Expert opinion on high oil consumption and piston numbers, engine Z16SE. Only new piston rings ?

Hello Motor Talk municipality. Now it’s time, the cylinder head is down and now the piston rings are replaced with it. Last time I renewed the valve shaft seals, but the oil consumption is still at 1 litre at approx. 800- 1000 km. The mileage is currently 65,000 km. What causes me to break my head are the numbers on the piston, I once put 4 pictures of the pistons in here. It stands here on the piston 2 times H08 H4 (pistons 2 and 4) and 2 times H09 H4 (pistons 1 and 3). So the number H08 for pistons with 79.08 mm diameter, H09 for 79.08 mm or am I wrong here? I will measure the cylinder diameter tomorrow, if I pulled the pistons and put them in here. In addition, I took pictures of the piston combustion chambers from the cylinder head. Oh yes, there are still mock marks on the cylinder treads, only the photos will not be so good, will take pictures tomorrow with my son’s camera. uch im vor out for numerous tips and opinions. Greeting Werner

  • 20XEV – still bluish after shaft sealing

Hello guys, I changed the shaft seals 3 weeks ago – so far so good.Blues at the start is almost gone. Only now I have a new problem – when I stand at the traffic light and then just play with the gas, he squirts out in the back as if I are in the high moor in England – complete fog. Were made: shaft seals changed oil 5W30 as well as filter changed intake tract cleaned hollow screw cleaned etc. What makes me wonder, that if I have the oil measurement sta b pull, the speed drops! The same happens with the oil filler cover – the speed drops. I have problems since the oil change also with dm idle, although the idle control seems quite clean. I get here slowly the Macke – are it now the piston rings??? Still to the info: mileage 185000 Km Thank you, if one has THE idea. Michael

  • Which Opel would you buy right now?

Meal, at the request of “45hp” now here a small survey, which Opel model you would buy at the moment. Please only realistic suggestions and not “clear – nen Speedster Turbo”. Multiple selections are allowed and desired, you do not have to set yourself on a model. Please do all this independently of the current crisis – here it is only about which models would enjoy strong popularity and the Forenusers would address. “No more Opel” is only intended for the case, The crisis should not be associated with it. If you comment a little more on why and why you would choose the model, the whole thing would be even more informative. Greetings, QPhalanx

  • My Story – Calibra

Hello first of all! Yes I’m new Something happened in my life, and it doesn’t give me any fucking rest … I’m driving a Tigra 1.4i with 90hp. Not exactly a rocket but it’s acceptable. Yesterday I was refueling, so I saw a Calibra 16V for sale (150hp). I didn’t want to buy it at all, since I’ve never driven Cali before I wanted to test it. So it came to me that I made a test drive. First the seller then I had the honor. yp was driving in the second gear up to 100 on a farmer’s way … my god I had wet pants Then I had the honor … shit … but the feeling was so awesome I can’t forget it anymore! The Cali was not lowered (my Tigra it’s not) but was in my opinion already like a board. It really knocked me over this driving feeling … I have to talk about this car … otherwise I’m going to go to hell Does anyone have a Cali here? Did it just come to me like that or did he fall I’m cool on the road? What’s with susceptibility to this 150hp engine?

  • Calibra good as a beginner?

Hi, since I quickly move on to my 18th year of age, and of course I do my driver’s license, I also need a car. Since I already have a training vehicle at opel for the next year as a car mechatronics technician, it should be an Opel. I had the Calibra in my eye. So I wanted to make out first of all, whether you can take it as a beginner car. I had to get the 115 ps version before me. I would also like to know how to get the insurance costs. n is. I probably let the insurance run over my father. He drives about 250000 km in 2 years because of his job, white though not if that’s good but well. So what can you tell me about the car in general? Reliability, performance, consumption,… mfg

  • Buying tip Facelift yes / no

Hello guys, I am playing with the idea of purchasing an Omega Built 98 – 00. It should be an automatic transmission, like with V6 (I think the four-cylinders have with automatic too little steam) I have read here about the problems of the 2.5 respectively 3.0 L engines with timing belts or crackers. Of the latent existing drunkenness of the 2.6 and 3.2 L engines also. I tend to actually a MV6 Built 98 / 99 with approx. 100T-120T Km. Shouldn’t cost more than 9000 Euros. Or rather model year ’00 for 2000 tacken more? My question to the (un-) biased forum participants: What would you recommend? Are the motors of the facelift models more stable or you just don’t know that yet? Thank you from the snowy north cometino

  • Just a question

It’s about my Omega B 2,5 V6 year of construction 97! If I have coolant residues under my cylinder head, you have to remove this cylinder head in order to be able to remove these residues… Do you also have to expand something on the timing belt or the various rollers?
