  • Legacy How do I recognize timing belt change

Hello, I’ve been driving a legacy with 2.5L engine with 132000km and don’t know if the timing belt was made, you can see if the timing belt has already dropped 130000 or only 25000? Have the cover removed to look at but I know too little to determine if that was done or not. Does anyone have a tip? the straps and the timing belt disc was once marked with a pen is that a sign?

  • 4 wheel coupling Legacy spare part

Hello together, after a long search I got a used gearbox for my Legacy 2.2 automatic (92), but unfortunately the all-wheel coupling looks just as bad as my old one. Add to this a photo. Now the question, can you grind off the bars a bit? Does that bring something? Completely grind away is not possible, to that are too deep. A new part should cost 380, – Euro and that is too much for me. The outer basket and the slats still look good. Hope for quick answer, the car stands up the stage. Greetings Kay

  • No theft warning system at the current Subaru Forester (2018)?

Hello everybody! Is it really the case that the Subaru Forester has no anti-theft system? I only read something about an electronic immobilizer in the catalogue, but I would also like to have a anti-theft system. Or don’t you miss it?

  • Various questions about the Forester of a Subaru Interested

Dear Subaru community, despite the intensive use of the search function, I would still have a few open questions about the current Forester. My knowledge refers to a random half-hour test drive in a Forester 2.5XT with automatic. Accordingly, the Forester virus infected me also unprepared. My first impression: What a great part! Due to the current gasoline price development, however, it becomes for everyday life rather a Forester 2.0X with gas system. Unfortunately, the 2.5 XT is not officially available with this “money saving technology”. Here are the still open questions: · Is the 2.0 X with automatics suitable for swimming in traffic? · Are the indicated consumptions (also 2.5 XT) realistic? · Is the panoramic roof recommended (visibility, noise development,…)? · Is a model change in the forester coming soon? · Drum brakes on the rear axle are a problem in train operation? · On which equipment level is the special model Celebration based? · A utogas is possible in 2.5 XT (not Subaru)? Many thanks for your answers in advance. Should one of the questions be answered elsewhere, a link is enough for me. Wish you all a nice day. Greeting gonzo

  • Either you love him or hate the new Impreza

So in my opinion Subaru did not create a masterpiece with the new Impreza. The older (cult) Impreza was unique. Everyone you have seen with the WRX STI was envied immediately, but one thinks if it is the money value. Clearly apart from the appearance the Impreza WRX STI has fabulous values. From the makers he got a new more powerful engine (an increase to 299hp ). That was my personal opinion. Everyone sees it differently and you can me let’s share your points of view. Thanks for reading. Mfg Astares

  • Chassis noise Outback MJ 07

Hello together, since the beginning of June we drive an outback (active, AT, LPG), meanwhile with 2400 km. Was already enthusiastic about the car, makes every time fun. So far we had some small disappointments, but almost all have to do with subsequent installations at the dealer. Park distance control (perhaps sometimes no and never quite right, is checked) Installation gas system (the raising of the trunk floor was processed very unbelievably, is corrected) After 70 km The engine check lamp flashed continuously, unround idle, ESP and cruise control failed (car 1 day in the workshop, then solved these problems. Was a defective valve of the gas system) I have a problem. If you hit the steering to the left and drive over a slight obstacle (2-3 cm, level crossing e.g.) one hears a metallic hitting from the front axle. Like if a rubber metallayer had worn out or a joint has game. Interestingly almost only left. If you straight ahead s it is quieter, but it also happens. In July in the USA had an outback as a rental car (with 8000 km on the speedo and about 7000 km with it) with exactly the same problem. Does anyone know that? If we are already there, two questions: The windscreen wiper on the driver’s side squeaks slightly in the upper area (was also so with the rental car). Normal? After the reserve lamp from the gas tank we drove about 20 km and have been able to refuel 40 l. According to Subaru 50 to 53 l should go in. Is the reserve so large or what is it? Thank you for any information, Christian

  • All-wheel coupling

Hello, I have a two questions, maybe this one can answer me. 1. How much and which oil actually comes into the four-wheel coupling. (my last info was 75W90 Hybrid OIL) 2. Is an oil filler opening available? if yes where? This has the following reason: I was told that the oil has penetrated into the transmission housing, and thus there is too little oil in the four-wheel coupling housing. Due to the few oil the lamellae could not work properly. My theory is, I Just fill in oil and can delay the expensive repair a bit. The oil has penetrated into the gear box seems logical to me, because according to the measuring rod I had too much oil in the drive so let off about 0.5L, because too much oil can be as harmful as too little. But it is not tragic if the oil from the four-wheel coupling mixes with the gear oil. I thank you in advance for your support Walter

  • How long is the duration of a Subaru?

Hello, I would like to know how long you have had your Subaru and when the first bigger problems occurred. I would also like to know when and where you found rust on your vehicle. Also interesting would be what you could achieve during the sale! Thank you for your patience, I am looking forward to your information.
