  • Quality current Subaru models

Dear Subaru community, since I am increasingly dissatisfied with my Mokka, and an XV for me is quite an alternative, I wanted to ask you how the quality of the current models can be estimated. The classic Subaru until about 2007 (Impreza) until 2009 (Legacy) were of castle quality. Unfortunately today the prices on the used car market do not really fit the expected residual service life due to the status “last real Subaru”. I tried a Forester SH from 2013 in 2016, which I would have liked to take in principle. But the condition was horrible. Contaminating to advanced rust damage on the whole body, especially on cut edges and welds, dropped buttons on the radio, coatings in the interior that had already begun to loosen… I had read something similar here in the forum and was warned accordingly and could only confirm the reports. Be In the Impreza GR it was probably similar. Therefore the question, what it looks like with the models 2011-2018?https://www.autobild.de/artikel/subaru-xv-dauertest-5257749.html

  • Subaru Forester Good as the first car?

Moin to all Subaru friends out there ! To clarify in which starting position I am at the moment/in the near future: I start now soon with the car driver’s license and should drive with 17 then accompanied and later alone etc. Normally I would not have to worry about a car yet, however, my father is from the end of this year retired and therefore does not need his car anymore ( my parents then only use our newer forester of my mother). So it came to me that my father has offered that I can have his old Forester, now I wonder if it is wise to take the car because I could just get it around otherwise and a Forester as the first car is pretty much the best I can imagine xD However, the first car of course may not be all too expensive in the insurance and consumption. Experience shows however this is not the case since the Subbi would like to get approved times 9 liters in normal driving mode I sell the Forester and I would buy an old justy or impreza 1.6 which are probably classified lower in insurance because of vehicle class and engine. Here’s a couple of dates about the Forester : Year of construction : 2006 Motor : 2.0× 158 Ps Km. : Approx.140.000 Now my question : Which variant is permanently smarter / more economical

  • and an outback more on the road – but the consumption…

Hello together, after reading a lot here, my decision has matured to get me an outback. Since Wednesday last week he has now run my outback, MY06, 9000 km, automatic, 2.5ltr machine I am very satisfied so far, only the consumption makes me stunned. I drove very “sprite-saving”, nevertheless a verbracuh of over 11ltr/100 km – mostly highway with cruise control at 120km/h. I wanted the comparison between our Rover 75 (V6 – 2.0 ltr, best value 6,1 ltr /100km, Durshn. 8 ltr/100km) and I am dissected. Is this really normal or should the friendly one still set something? Otherwise super car, I drove almost 700 km, processing, handling, road position, bend behavior, rolling noises, just top – and the “handbook” first – never had such a waltz for a car 🙂 Gruss Torsten

  • General question on the cardan wave

Good afternoon, I have a Subaru SVX, where the cross joint was fixed in front of the differential. One noticed this because when starting (0-20 km/h) a rattling was heard. At this speed nothing could be felt anymore. Now I had this repaired. I had the shaft removed in the SUbaru car house and managed to get a joint shaft service. There the cross joint was built and the shaft was balanced with metal plates. After it was installed again, I was able to However, from 70 km/h a vibration began in the car, which was unbearable at 100 km/h (I thought it would blow out the windows). I had then called at the joint shaft service, which thought they had properly balanced the shaft but errors are not excluded. So I could come again and they balanced out the shaft again. They suspect however, that the tooth wreath on the gearbox would probably have worn off (so the shaft will be damaged). I couldn’t believe it, because it went without problems before the repair. I could drive quickly without feeling the slightest vibration. I suspected myself that this company made a mistake in balancing, so I went to a Do It Yourself workshop and screwed the shaft off at the rear differential and turned 180 degrees again fixed. t. Now the balance weights are also on the other side. Now you can only see a vibrating from 120 km/h, not before. But it didn’t go completely away anyway. Now my question: What do you think this could have? I still have a guarantee with the joint shaft service, however I would have to pay the installation and installation of the shaft again in the car house. Does not want to do this now for nothing. Hope you can help me! Greetings

  • Fuel consumption and deficiencies Impreza

Hello, since I have sold my WRX now and I already have a new car in mind, I wanted to ask you the following questions. It is an Impreza 2.0 with 125 hp with a first registration from 2005 What do you think this model consumes fuel? Does it also need super or? What can you tell me about the defects of this car? (was a little badly processed, there were recalls because of a part, ….. ) This Impreza now has no rear axle differential anymore or? He controls the 4×4 Üb he the wheels ( individually)? thank you for your answers

  • Head gasket in 2.5 engine, year 2000

Hello all, I have a question about the engine of Subaru which is or was installed in the Legacy. With the machines the cylinder head seal is often defective. Is this dependent on the year of construction, there were certain years of construction which were affected by the damage? I ask for the reason, because I was offered a Legacy Bj. 2000 with 100Tkm. I would like to know beforehand what such damage or defects could come to me. Thanks already for your answer.

  • Advice Legacy/Forester Bj. 00-01

Hello Subaru municipality, after a disappointing year with a MB vehicle (4x extra-scheduled workshop) we decided to switch again to good old Japanese quality work. Reason Subaru: Solid, reliable and durable vehicles. After a short thought our decision has fallen on the Legacy 2.5 / Forester 2.0 turbo with automatic transmission, now my question to you: is there any concern at this year of construction?? Is the consumption similar with both models? And still what very important for my wife who suffers from a hip displasia: how much is the vehicle height for both models. A “normal” car is quite deep from the sitting position and the Legacy has a level regulation or? And the Forester looks from the optical higher. I could not find anything about technical data yet. Many thanks in advance for your help greetings from Bayern Tim

  • Switching from Opel to Subaru, open questions

Hello dear Subaru community, because my signum, which I have been driving for 13 years slowly starts to become exhausting, needs a new kit here. I drive rather little (8 – 10,000 km a year) which means that all modern cars, which are designed for high mileage in little time (leasing vehicles) can enjoy my mistrust first. I therefore love the “classic” Subaru until 2009. (Impreza to 07, Forester to 08, legacy to 09) preferably with 2.0 gasoline and below r 100,000 km. But where to take and not steal? My feeling is that anyone who has a running Subaru doesn’t give it so fast. Do you have tips or hints for me? Best regards, Tristan PS: What do you think of the following offer? http://ww3.autoscout24.de/classified/279992346?asrc=st

  • Help! After the organ smoke from the engine compartment -> SG dead.

Dear everyone, I would need your spontaneous assessment. After I got my well-kept Forester SG in October (here my first thoughts on it http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…nken-zum-forester-sg-t5828457.html?…) and now shortly before the brake change (drums/covers) and timing belts/WP change I wanted to do after three days, on which he stood again today a few completions with my Forester. Strong organs (so the battery still did) but otherwise only widiwiwididi widividiwidi, perched by a few tired and stinking spotters. Suddenly considerable (!) after rubber/plastic smelling smoke from the engine compartment…he came from the back area under the big black plastic box. Then of course dead. Now my question: What could be broken (or I have broken by 4 minutes of organs) and what was the “pre-weakness”? Why didn’t he jump into se first place despite the battery? He actually ran quite well – only last week I was a very restless , immature feeling made during the gas acceptance during the ride stunned . The idling and gas in idling were impeccable , but especially in the third quite between 2000 and 3000 tours there was a heavy imbalance to feel . Can this have something to do with it ? How do you appreciate this ? Thank you for your ideas and your advice and a nice evening at the moment Benno
