  • Back to Subaru

Hello, after a couple of years of Subaru abstinence, I finally bought a 04er Impreza WRX sports combi. So actually the first one I can call my own. Unfortunately my father sold his, but now bollerts again in the area. Then a description of the Fzg’s follows quickly: It is a 04er model as a sports combi in Mica Blue. The roof, as well as mirrors, hats, tail spoiler and nebler cover are painted black. The windows are also tinted. In summer s ind chic 18″ OZ Prodive P1 mounted in black, in winter white 16″ by Brock or something like that. By the way, an Eibach Pro Street S coilover suspension is installed. To make it really nice, the original exhaust was replaced by an Invidia system and a Toyosports DP. In terms of equipment, the luxury with airbags, el. window lifters, climate and sliding roof is quite limited, but who needs the whole other frills already?! I already know my father’s, to eliminate, I still install retractable hood holders. I know that the hood flap belongs to Impreza as well as the boxer, but I prefer the eyes on the road, rather than on the hood… Furthermore I want to retrofit another front splitter, simply because of the optics. If the brakes are due then, I think that there are also more powerful parts installed, but wait until then. Mfg A new Impreza-Besit Zer

  • Survey: How satisfied were you with your Subaru in 2012?

One year is long, one year is turbulent. This applies to all areas of life, of course also to all experiences and events around your beloved motorized kit. But did you really love it all year round? Or did there be problems and annoyances with your vehicle or the manufacturer’s service in 2012? As in previous years, we would like to know from you how satisfied you were with your Subaru in 2012. Even though the year is still short, we would like to know from you how happy you were with your Subaru. As you certainly know, we have a direct connection to most vehicle manufacturers. That almost every manufacturer reads along on MOTOR-TALK is also no secret. That’s why this survey is also a great opportunity for you to give direct feedback to Subaru. They are happy about praise – and they are grateful for constructive criticism. Tell us in the survey and as a comment how your personal car year 2012 was with your Subaru!

  • 2×15 km daily – too short for diesel?

Hello together, I’m thinking about buying a new car in such 6-9 months, and the Forester 2014 with 2.0D is at the top of the list (followed by Outback, CX-5, CR-V and RAV-4). However, since I want to switch from petrol (1.6l Octavia from 2004) to diesel, I try to find out if this is a good idea. So – I drive 2 x 15 km daily (90% of which is road at such 80km/h) and at least every second weekend 100-300 km. Together about 20,000 km per year (+/-) question is – sin d the 15km rides too short for the diesel? Do the longer journeys perhaps help to compensate the short distances? Thank you

  • Questions about the current Legacy 2.5i Lineartronic motor

Hello, maybe you can help me there – I am looking for some information about the 2.5i petrol engine, which unfortunately is difficult to get on the internet. The engine is shown in the brochure as SOHC, i.e. single-over-head-cams, but the engine shown next to it definitely has 2 camshafts per cylinder bench, so DOHC dual-over-head-cams. Also visible on this picture is that the engine has one phaser per camshaft. Is there any information about valve control in this engine? According to the picture, the engine has a control chain, is it true or if not – how often does the timing belt have to be changed? I’m not sure about this picture if this is really the right engine. On the other hand, it’s really difficult to get information for these technical details. Unfortunately, the dealer has no 2.5r where the questions could easily be clarified on the living object… Thanks for Eur o Help! Greeting Flyerbo

  • How much gasoline does your Forester 2.0 consume on average?

Hello, in another Subaru forum it can be read that one of its Forester 2.0 latest models can easily drive with 6,8 – 7,4 l petrol at 100 km. Our My04 needs on average 9 – 9,5 l to 100 km (this is calculated from the gas consumption which is always just around 12 l). Our Forester needs in gas operation 30% more than with petrol. We drive on average 400 – 450 km per week short distance, country road, AB mixed. What do your so need? Gruss Uwe

  • Power drop 1800-2500 U/min EJ20 Restless motor run

My 98er Impreza 2.0 85KW, which I call my own for about a year, runs restless, and only between 1800 – 2500 rpm… He still does speed up, but the power falls in the range n whole piece and at 2500 rpm you think ez comes the turbo, because he suddenly starts widda! Above and under it runs and pulls it as normal as always! Since I have an LPG gas system in it, my first suspicion was the gas filters, but since only in the particular area the power is missing (no matter whether gasoline or gas), I take ma, irgedwas with the engine control, i.e. Lambdasonde is the reason… If someone has an idea what that could still be I would be grateful!! Oh yes, air filters and spark plugs can’t be… are still net long in there… !!! already thanks in advance

  • 1998 Subaru Legacy 2.0; only 93000km – Tips for purchase; 2nd tour tomorrow

I suddenly looked at this Subaru here. Actually I’m looking for a forester, but I also liked the Legacy quite well and can do anything I need a car for. I found it a bit hard, but when you come to Volvo sofa, it’s probably normal. The car is just through the TÜV, has new brakes all around, new shock absorbers back and a new wheel bearing back. All buttons work, but the car looks a bit older than it is, because small attachments It is also a little bit of rust evenly distributed over most parts in the engine. In addition, it smells so extremely like Wonderbaum in the cart that I couldn’t do the heating-full-turn-and-snow test. Now to the question: Are there particularly important points in the car and model year that I should control? I can’t test the alternator myself, but tomorrow I want ic h to introduce the Legacy to a mechanic. The price is good and the low mileage almost sensational – I live in Norway and large combos about 10-15 years old there is rarely under 200000km. Lieb Gruss Oli

  • Start problems Subaru Impreza

Hello, I have a huge problem with my Impreza sti n12. It doesn’t start anymore! when I turn the ignition key, the starter turns briefly, but the engine doesn’t start! But if you let it roll and let the clutch come with inserted gear, then it starts immediately! Battery and starter have already been changed, but this has not helped! I hope you can help me! MfG Mitch

  • Distorted brake discs

I know that it can happen that the discs can be forgiven but all half-years swapping is too expensive for me just because I get into the irons on the AB. These are original parts of Subaru and I only hear from the friendly (We never had any problems with that before). I also don’t have with my other kfz`s. Does anyone have a tip or good experience with other manufacturers? Thanks already.
