Impreza Turbo 211PS / 218PS
Hello together. Think about changing my Integra Type R for an Impreza Turbo. Now I found a very nice one at a good price and with 107’000km. However, a Jg. ’98. Now I would be interested in where the important difference between ’98 with 211hp and the ’99-’01 with 218hp is natural…apart from the PS?! How do they differ from the sprint from 0 to 100h? Does the ’98er have any weaknesses that might be found in the following corrigi Thank you very much.

Noise at start-up
My outback has annoyed me for a long time with chassis noises. Some with flaps, some with clapping when starting. The flap is now apparently switched off, the fault was broken shock absorbers. With the new ones is now calm. Now (about a week after the swap) the clapping appears again when starting. Every time you slow down a little more firmly, there is a dull clack when starting. If you let the car roll to a standstill (or slow down only with respect to the sea) this remains out. before the shock absorber exchange still a gun (suspension of the dampers) at the start, there is only this cracking left. Therefore, I suspect it must be a component that absorbs the thrust and pull forces while driving. Any ideas? Greetings, Zeph

Outback 2.5 suitable for long distance with 1.5t trailer?
Hi Together, I had 5 years a 3l outback from the previous series. Genuine vehicle however in trailer operation too thirsty compared to a 6-cylinder. Diesel I had until recently. (Total damage) Now I think about buying a 2.5i from 2006-8 with manual transmission and gearbox reduction. Advantage: Gas conversion with valve liquid possible Questionable is: Is the torque really enough for a 1.5t trailer for long distance on the highway? (France, Sweden etz) How is the verb target speed: 100 net Driving habits: 25-30tsd km/year, of which 5-10tsd with said trailer.

Subaru Legacy 4th generation- Pay attention to what?
Hello dear Subaru Community, Looking for a used combo for my mother we came across the Subaru Legacy of the fourth generation. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow we want to visit one: 2.0R Active (165 hp), EZ 10/2005 and 93 tkm. Now my questions: – Do you have to pay special attention to something with this model? – Does the engine have control chain or timing belt (change interval)? – Maintenance, as usual with Subaru, probably every 15,000 kilometers or once abruptly Rlich? – Does the engine take short distance operation (2x daily about 10 kilometers, sometimes longer tours) without complaint? – Do you hold the price of ~7,000 euros for justified (1st hand)? I hope that you can give me answers to my questions with your concentrated competence. With Subaru no one has had experiences in our environment yet, so I am also somewhat “uninformed”. MfG Mark

Fluctuating speed – motor off
Hello together, a problem that occurs occasionally with my Forester: One at idle times moderately fluctuating speed. I think it only occurs in gas operation (LPG). The variation of the speed indicator sometimes moves between approx. 1200 and the bottom line, whereby in the lowest position the battery usually lights up briefly before the engine catches again. Several times it even went out in such a situation, while the ride(!) Interestingly w ar that every time at the same place of my morning way to work: on a longer run-off track that leads to a crossing, whereby I first roll with gear and then when approaching to the intersection the clutch kick and brake – zack engine off. Was already twice in the workshop with it, where always something was “set” at the gas nozzles – but an improvement was not or only noticeable for a short time… What also stands out: Even if the fluctuation was just ni At the last workshop meeting I was told that this was “normal for cars with overhead camshafts” – is there anything about it or was I told crap here so that I could keep quiet? For tips on these problems I would be really grateful. Greetings N

Outback 2.5 i vs. Volvo XC 70 D5??
Dear Subaru friends, so far I am a passionate Volvo driver (V 70 2.4/140 hp) but wants to buy me a four-wheeler in private next year. The XC 70 lures me with a diesel engine (163 hp), 2nd commonrail generation, so overall very economical, which should also be contributed by the Haldex coupling. Unfortunately, at the moment there is no Euro 4. Subaru attracts me something if the cheaper pricing and 3 years full warranty. Unfortunately, only the petrol variant is available. This is probably due to the permanent all-wheel drive. Maybe the outback riders could tell me their average consumption, which naturally depends very much on individual aspects. I would also like to know something about susceptibility chassis, suspension (too hard?), body and engine. What about the kulanz behavior after the end of the 3 years? Had already been in contact with some dealers in the past. They wanted to offer me for my Volvo (first registration March 2002, 50,000 km, no accident) but no more than 20,000 euros. However, the resulting loss in value seems so high in view of the available top equipment, that I would finally be back at the Volvo new car price for an XC 70, compared to the Subaru Outback 2.4 i with all possible extras. Honest recommendation from you? When will Euro 4 come? Greeting from the “apostate” Olv
