  • Used car check Impreza?

Hey guys! I want to get a new car in the near future and I find various versions of Imprezas quite hammer unfortunately I don’t have too much idea of brand, don’t know where the weak points lie, which engines are so and which are the most durable. What prices you have to reckon with. I can use screws because I have learned car mechatronics, but have only limited possibilities to screw at my home because I don’t have a lift. a few of you tell me what I have to look for (engine, mileage other “diseases” and weak points) in the different models of Imprezas. It would be no matter if it were a left or even a right-hand steering. Oh, and it should be quiet about 200hp or so Thank you for your help!

  • Problems with BE H6

Moin, and that is when I drive the engine gets warm quickly, on the highway I can drive 180 and the engine remains at normal temperatures. If, for example, a traffic jam comes the temperature goes back into the red area. It then does not cool through the driving wind. AAAABER the radiator grille is completely cold, as is the cooling water. Overpressure is in the system, and exhaust gas smell in the cooling water. Oil not in the water and otherwise also does not. Fan also rotates. What can be broken there? Zkd, or Block /head. And water pump, and cooler to ? But what gives of then again for n sense for the purpose of the wind, can not cool eig? The cooling water is Danin in the time where you drive still full. If you leave it standing and let cool it is constantly less. In the workshop I would next time, but would ask me in advance n Bische Manu

  • Purchase advice Subarus Legacy

Hello municipality, An enthusiastic Subaru driver wants to make me a Subaru driver. I also see a lot of advantages. However, I’m not quite sure about the engine choice. I’ve already read a lot of control chains problems. I’m looking for a reliable family car (used and gasoline!!). In which I don’t have to expect engine problems when buying as much as possible. Or you can recommend another car brand for a family that has a reliable engine and d car built. My driver profile: More short distance 10000-15000 km in the year Budget:2000€ Thank you for your answers

  • Problems with the LPG gas system

Hello and good day, maybe there is someone here who has given me a tip, or similar experiences. With my Subaru Forester 2.0 Trend EZ 02/2007 a gas injection nozzle to the 3rd cylinder is defective at KM-Stand 102000. Thus a normal driving with gas is not possible. On petrol position everything is problem-free. Built in by Subaru is a system of type Teleflex GFI The guarantee for this system was 3 years or max 100 000 km. It is not possible to replace a single nozzle, so that the entire injection system has to be changed. Cost point approx. 900 – 1000 .- Euro. In the case of the newly installed system, the change of a single nozzle should be possible in the future. If someone has experience here, the information from the workshop is correct, or there is another possibility. I would like to thank you for an answer. Franz

  • Timing belt change with Forester petrol already with 56000km? 7 years old!

A year ago I got a Forester petrol. Built 2009. Now the workshop thinks that with regard to the age (only 56000km on it) the timing belt is to be changed, which surprises me, since I had a timing belt change so far with used vehicles of other manufacturers so about 100 – 120 000Km, with these vehicles usually around the 7 -10 years were timing belt destruction at the Subaru-Forester petrol 7 years and 56000km?

  • Electronics are very dangerous!

Three months ago, my daughter bought an auto dealer from a Forster Bj. 2006 , LPG system, automatic, because she is often on the road in no-way terrain as a veterinarian. A few weeks ago, the engine control lit up, but she went out again after 2 days and in the workshop one could find in the data storage and also no other faults. Yesterday she drove down a longer slope, had to slow down continuously and suddenly the whole light tableau lit up and Then the brake booster stopped! She was able to control the vehicle with muscle power and handbrake up to a holding bay, where she parked the engine immediately. After she had recovered from the shock, she started the engine, and – oh miracle – it was all normal again. She then slowly drove home and now wonders what to do with the vehicle, because a sudden failure of the braking force amplification is life-threatening. What to do? Precautionally a suitable steering gear t and replace the old one? Probably no error will be registered in the data storage again this time and it can therefore not claim the dealer guarantee, since it has no witnesses. If someone of the Subaru drivers had an identical or similar experience, it could be very helpful for us. Gruss Udogi

  • Change Legacy IV brake pads on the rear axle

Hello, soon my Legacy IV 2.0 R in the garage will have to change the brake pads on the rear axle. Have the SUFU used and like many others found nothing before (there it probably lacks the appropriate technical terms again). The question goes to the screwdrivers. It is only a point that I need to know: How do I bring the brake piston back to the starting position? You have to turn with “suitable” tool and press it at the same time, like for example from the V40 or the Nissan Primera k or can the pistons be pushed back like on the front axle with feeling and water pump pliers due to the brake structure? That and the rest I have already done several times with different cars in the family. After several 100,000 km we still live, so I know what I do. I don’t want to start a long thread here. Short answer or a link in a matching post is perfect. Thank you in advance Greeting Tilo

  • Purchase advice

Hello, Since my Bmw has come into the years and the transmission so slowly makes more and more problems I think about making a vehicle change. At a Subaru dealer have a 2008 impreza 2.0R Comfort with automatic and autogas in mind. Approx. 95000km, 2 years used car warranty, 8000 euro. Don’t know me with Subaru. But I’m excited about the four wheel and the automatic transmission and optically I like it too. I know that the car is not a rocket and goes much worse n will be my BMW, but it doesn’t matter to me anymore. I’m concerned about whether the car is reliable and I can still drive for a few years. My Bmw was already 7 at that time and I could drive it for 7 years without any problems. What do you think about the car?

  • New pictures … + small “sound video” …

Hi, for all Subaru-interested people – I just uploaded a few new pic`s from the Nürburgring to my site. Just at www.never2mu.ch – there on “pictures” and then on “Nürburgring Nordschleife Impressionen”. LG, harald-hans P.S. my son shot a short video (13 sec.) yesterday with his new camera/video/what-white-I-all-can mobile phone – actually more about the sound. Is in mp4 format – so the quicktime player plays it off easily – what else do I have? This is how the STi sounds when “He” is warm and the driver’s window is slightly open:http://www.never2mu.ch/movies/sti.mp4

  • Subaru Tribeca

What do you think of the new Tribeca? I personally find it unfortunately very unsuccessful. The new Subaru radiator grille looks kind of very funny and the rear has similarities with the new Ford models (S-Max and Galaxy). And the price is quite exaggerated. 49,900 EUR for a Subaru? Please?! Well it will offer a lot of equipment and also has a big engine. More but also not. Most will probably spend the money on a BMW, Mercedes or BMW. What still funny Subaru still has no diesel engine on offer.
