  • Forester Sj from the dealer or private?

Good morning! I could get from private a Forester Sj from 2015 with another three years warranty (factory guarantee plus connection guarantee) for about 2500 euros below the usual market price, which is called at dealers. 147 hp diesel with CVT automatic, this would have an acceptable color and in addition to the exclusive equipment still 2 or 3 extras. At dealer, same vehicle, rather not so desired blue, otherwise also exclusive equipment, but directly 2500 euros more expensive, both are Now I wonder what I can do wrong if I buy the Forester from Private, or if I let myself be blinded by the 2500 Euro and should I rather buy from a dealer? Greetings Bassey

  • Engine damage or blablabla?

Hello together, with my beloved Subaru WRX STI spontaneously went out on Thursday on the AB of the engine and could not be started. I was not at the moment fooled, did not kick him before it and I also drove for about 15 minutes. likewise no signs of jerking, no bang, no temperature or anything else. just spontaneously went out. Now Subaru towed him away and as a next diagnosis said that the timing belt has torn and the engine This was already an exchange engine which had, however, “first” 100,000 km on the clock. Basically I trust my dealer, but can it be? Shouldn’t there be at least a bang or any signs? thank you and LG

  • Subaru Repair to Expensive? Is it time to split up now?

Hi, I think it’s time now. My beloved Subaru (Impreza 2.0d) has probably arrived at a point where the remaining value is probably not all too far from the repair costs. Probably the parking plate filter of my Subaru is already full again (after not even 80000km). I had had to renew this at the time 4 years ago when I had just bought it used. Had cost at that time almost 3500 euros. In addition comes a crack in the windshield of the momenta I think I’ve got to get out somewhere at 5000 euros and after that I still have an old diesel with 200,000 km. I think now would be the right time to separate from the car. Also my routes have changed since then. I’m driving mostly short distances to the train station wa I’m sure it’s not good for an old diesel. I really liked driving the car. I got it to my 17th gift from my parents almost exactly 5 years ago. *Sigh* At that time with something under 115,000 km. What do you think? Do you agree? Has the car reached its zenith. Do I get rid of it for a little bit of money? What would you do in my place?

  • Experiences Forester 2.0 XT (SJ)

Hello everyone, in search of a vehicle I came across the Subaru Froester (SJ). I find it very interesting as a 2.0 XT. Is there someone here in the forum who has this car and can write about his experiences with it? How long-lasting is the vehicle and what damage occurs in the car? What are the weak points. He is always good in the tests, but long-term experiences over a few years I can’t find or get too stupid about Me is the 5 year guarantee already known, but I keep my vehicles so always between 8-12 years and there I look for something reliable. Many greetings and thanks Matt

  • Subaru Legacy squeaking/whistle coupling

Hello! I’ve been the owner of a Subaru Legacy 2.0R 2006 Limo switch for 3 months! I’m super satisfied with the car but now it’s getting worse and wanted to ask what that could be: My Legacy squeaks very loudly when starting up, especially who you let out the clutch with little gas. In the stand it squeaks/fells only sometimes but only at revolutions below 1000. But then not so loud. If I drive away with a lot of gas and the clutch slowly leaves out I can also sometimes complete it. t without squeaking… Even when I am in a high gear and get into the gas, you hear a short whistle. It sucks a lot and I’m afraid that even more stuff can go on who I don’t care about! Looking forward to feedback! Thank you! Best regards Michael

  • Forester XT EyeSight

Hello dear SUBARU forum! My name is Michael, come from Bad Goisern in Austria and I am thinking about whether I should buy a Subaru again after 5 years. I already had two 1994er Legacy and a 2007er WRX. With the engines and the drive from Subaru I was always very satisfied, only the rust at Legacy was a problem and with the WRX I simply could not get along with the cheap interior and the gearbox. But since SUBARU have already made up in the interior powerfully u In terms of quality, I am sure that I can keep up with the German manufacturers, thinking about buying a current, but used FORESTER SJ XT with 241 hp and the Lineartronic transmission. I like the car all around very well and also works very well in terms of quality, since the at SUBARU have really done their homework well in the last 10 years. And the drive with the 2 liter turbo and the Lineartronic transmission seems also a very good compromise from Spor I thought about buying an X3 before, but I was rather terrified when I was looking for a petrol engine, four-wheel drive and automatic transmission. Really a cheekyness how expensive the cars are even after 3 years. So I somehow ended up at SUBARU again, because I have somehow had enough of the VOLKSWAGEN Group after 3 years Audi. I really always prefer to buy a vehicle with full equipment. I have a question about the EYESIGHT system. Is it possible that the XT is not available with this system in Germany and Austria, because I can’t find a used model with the 2 cameras in the sky even at the year of construction 2018. It would be very important to me and it would also be a separation for the car if it didn’t have a distance tempomat has, which keeps the distance to the front man itself and, if necessary, also slows down to the standstill in stop&go traffic. Does the Forester XT not have this cruise control from the house, or has nothing to do with the EyeSight and it has the distance tempomat anyway. If so, how can I recognize the system? Thank you in advance! Mfg Michael

  • Change Legacy landing gear?

Hello, I have a Subaru Legacy 2,2 Automatic Combi Built 1992 with air suspension. Unfortunately, a spring leg has given up your mind. I want to upgrade the vehicle to normal chassis. Found today a similar Legacy with 1.8 engine on a scrap yard. The price for the 4 spring legs 150 €. Is it ok. Do you only need the spring legs with springs or also dome bearings or something else? Ask for quick answer. Be afraid that someone else buys the parts. Thank you.

  • Subaru Outback 2.5i – BJ 2010-2013 – known problems?

Hello! We are interested in the Subaru 2.5i Lineartronic as a used car (possibly not older than 2010 and also as little as possible run, up to 60,000 km) and therefore I wanted to ask if this vehicle / engine problems are known. I have seen with Google more often something of head seals and engine damage, especially with 2.5 engines, but the cars were already older. Are there still problems with the engine, or do you have to worry about it? It would be great if someone could say something. Thank you very much!
