  • Motor remains cold – thermostat defective ?

Hello together, drive a Suzuki Swift 1.0 GLX (3 cylinder) Bj 98, mainly short distances (about 4 km) in the city traffic (unfortunately many traffic lights ). We have the car since August, the consumption is about 8 liters in the city traffic. Now in the winter it is noticeable that it takes extremely long to get warm, the pointer moves even in the city traffic only barely out of the cold field. Over the holidays I had a few longer distances (each 50 km country road) and noticed that the car also never came out of the “C”, sometimes with quiet drive in the 5th gear even colder again (the heating was also only lukewarm). The consumption was despite about 200 km of land road with over 8 liters. After some research here in the forum I am quite sure that the thermostat must be broken. In contrast to some other cars one seems to be able to change it at the Swift yes itself, since someone can give tips ? Or does someone have an idea whether there can also be another cause ?

  • Why a Vitara?

Hi guys, I’m going to introduce myself! My name is Mickey (was already occupied) and I would like to buy a Suzuki Vitara! It should be a JLX. I have about 2000 Euro available. Now my questions: Why should I choose a Vitara? What do I have to pay particular attention to when buying? Are 2000 Euro realistic? What are the most common vulnerabilities in the Vitara? I could get one, but BJ 89 and already 220000 KM down. I think that’s too much for 1.6l! I attached a picture of this car! That should be enough for now, I don’t want to get annoyed! πŸ˜‰

  • Swift (MZ/EC) 5th gear vibrating

Hello together, I have the problem vibrating in the 5th gear while speeding the turntable. The other gears behave calmly. The car has driven around 70,000 km down and a lot of highway (average 130 km/h). Gear oil has been changed recently. I removed the covers on the shift lever and found that the vibrating comes from the switch rope or this pole, which goes away to the rear right (I don’t know the name). If I pull the switch or put the hand on it the noise disappears. Can someone tell me if I can drive with it and it is just a bit annoying or something bigger is going wrong? Even better it would be if someone would tell me that I just have to tighten the and the screw again. ^^ Here’s a short video with sound: http://youtu.be/rhBNGBGsEk8 Thank you for your opinions Tom

  • Decision-making aid Swift (MAA) 1.0 or Justy 1.3?

Hello dear community, I am looking for a cheap car to get back and forth to work a few kilometers. I have come across a 99 Suzuki Swift and a 96er Justy. Both of them keep from the rust within limits (without there is certainly no one). In any case, both of them are fresh tufted and should keep the 2 years of the metal as well. Since both are identical from the price, I need decision help: Swift: 1.0 with 54 hp el. FH and mirror, as well as Servo 103.000km 2.HD Justy 1.3 with 68 hp el. mirror and servo, as well as of course four wheel 121.000km 2.HD Now I wonder which engine is the better of both and whether the 1.0L engine consumes noticeably less. All-wheel drive is not decisive. It is purely about the reliability of the engines, respectively of the drive.

  • Suzukie Ignis (2016) Reverse lock?

I have a question about the Ignis. Does this have a return lock? I noticed after the test drive that the Ignis has the return gear where the sixth gear is with many cars. Since I was on the road for the last 10 years in 6 gear cars I could imagine to switch off from time to time. Unfortunately I noticed in the stand that the Ignis has no lock here, or does the lock only go in when driving? With a slow drive over the yard you could already insert the return gear.
