Hello, dear taxers! I always ride taxis, especially from different airports to the inner cities and from the Munich city center home to the bacon belt. So sometimes 50-100 km. I ask myself the following: – why are most taxis limousines and no combos? A station wagon would have to be much more practical and more attractive in resale. In addition, it is hardly possible to use a taxi with four luggage together. – what does a Mer cost? cedes E Taxi new? Is it cost-effective to use such a car instead of an e.g. VW Passat or Skoda Superb? My personal experience is that a Mercedes E S210 320 CDI can be a catastrophic money grab, while an S211 270 CDI can run cheaper than a VW Golf. What does this generally look like? – Why is Mercedes apparently preferred to the BMW 5er? – The taxi rides always cost the same, no matter which model is used. I personally reject it for reasons of industrial policy and prefer to get into a Mercedes further in the row than in a Renault or even Lada. I know at least 4 people who drive taxis more often and keep this consistently the same. Is it still worth using such vehicles as taxis? Why does the driver do this to drive with such a cookie can 100,000 km a year or more? Thanks already and many greetings! M.

Self-employed as a taxi operator
Hello, I create this topic together with a friend who has been employed as a taxi driver in Mannheim since 3 years. He has been playing with thoughts for a few months to become self-employed in this industry, but does not know exactly what additional costs would be for him as a self-employed person. For this reason we would be very grateful if someone could give us answers to the following questions. 1. Fuel costs can already be calculated, just like the car tax (about 300€ depending on Hubrau 2. Car insurance??? How much % does one start as a new self-employed person? And can one take over the percentages from the private car? 3. Health insurance?? His wife works and is socially insured by her company. What about the private health insurance? Does he then only have to pay the private KV for himself or does he, despite the employment of his wife, have to take out a private KV for her and her son? Or can he avoid the costs of the private KV so that he is insured by his wife? What does private health insurance cost monthly? Are there any insurances added???? 4. Accounting??? Since he can not do the accounting himself, he has to order a tax consultant. What do they demand about a month??? 5. Head office in Mannheim requires about 400€/monthly for the placement of the orders. 6. For the beginning he would buy a used taxi in cash. Is that enough or do you have to expect more? 7. Are there any additional costs that we might have forgotten? We would like to thank you for your answers in advance. LG A&T

Unusual taxi – chance of registration?
Hello, I have a question that has been buzzing around my head for some time: Can you, for example, allow a duck (Citroen 2CV) as a taxi? What criteria are there regarding safety, emission standard or body shape, number of seats?

What engine oil?
Hello, I recently bought a London taxi BJ 1996 with 2.7 l Nissan diesel engine. The mileage is about 550,000 km. In the course of the exchange of all liquids there is of course also an oil change. Which oil would you recommend? Unfortunately I have no idea what London cabbies are driving for oil… or what is now in it. The manufacturer’s “minimum requirement” is: “MIL-1-46152 or BLS 22 OL.02 or A.P.I. SE/CC nor at the enormous mileage of the engine of course for the engine the best possible, but take no risk. Thank you in advance and greeting

Buying a taxi?
Hello dear Taxiforen, I have become aware of your forum/blog due to a search at google and please you. Jürgen I had already written to you and then decided to post it in public…I never find several opinions hurt… many thanks in advance. In advance to my person: I have been an entrepreneur for over 10 years and have 3 companies and 19 employees with my business partners. We are active in the areas of mobile communications, car rental and car rental. A business consultant called me and offered me a taxi company with 5 concessions in the area of Braunschweig, small town with 30,000 inhabitants. The figures sounded ok: Company profit is close to 80,000€ constant the last 3 years. Selling takes place because the owner is a 69 year old lady without follow-up regulation and so slowly wants to step a little shorter. My question: what is the taxi business like? What will happen to the taxi business in the future? Are the numbers ok or bad? Is The lady demands a purchase price of 110,000€ (from 150,000€). The cars are a Mercedes 211, a Viano, 2 Movano and a Touran of which only 2 are still in the financing. The lady currently drives a whole shift herself and also makes the headquarters while you drive and coordinates the drivers. Have read a lot in the forums and my first gut feeling tells me to let go of…and another it too dare…what to be an entrepreneur ;-). Since the lady wants to ride half a shift she remains a little bit with me or I have time to grow a ladder. I myself plan to take care of it. What do you think about it? I am grateful about your opinions

Driver alarm button available?
Hello, Is there actually something for taxi drivers like an alarm button like for example with money transporters, that in an emergency can be called uncomplicated help? Could I imagine that if I taxi drivers would be uncomfortable with some passengers more often and there would be such a button nevertheless a certain security. If yes, there is also this as a silent alarm and “loud” alarm where maybe the horn concerns or similar? To be honest, never dared a taxi driver directly to ask because otherwise they might think I want them evil. Thank you for your answers

Car rental companies, mandatory concession for passenger transport?
Hello, some will laugh, but my dream has always been to run their own transport service for the disabled. Unlike others, I have already worked in a “real hospital transport”, I have been intensively concerned with the subject and noticed the serious nature of my project, especially with regard to the concession. My question is whether you think it is possible for an already existing disabled transport, whose business as managing director at another location, i.e. a I would like to find someone or an already existing company who recognizes my motivation and I would work for them as managing directors and build a new location. Is this legally possible at all? So if the company BTWxy from Hamburg wants to open a branch in Dortmund, do they have to repeat the whole concession procedure again? Because the problem is that the rental car is back to the “base” after disguised work. I imagine that I can manage the branch as an employee. I imagine the structure as follows: – Finding an existing company, which owns all concessions – Open a branch for you in another city – I take care of all things as an Angsteller Manager This naturally includes a round concept, which I bring with me. Would I be pleased with your answers.

To all 212er with taxi package ex factory!
Hello colleagues, we had a failure of the taximeter yesterday. After a call to the taximeter specialist I found out, it is not the taximeter. The MSS needs an update. This can only be done with MB. Background: The MSS behaves errorfully and sends no more signals into the CAN, whereupon the taximeter complains (see photo) and the service stops. The update went quite fast, I have now looked at the 213er, partly not bad. By the way, the problem is known, but the entrepreneurs are not written to! So if you still have a guarantee, or have a good wire to MB, you should be prepared for the update. With collegial greetingsMiReu

Health insurance – Electronic billing – Taxi rate
Hello colleagues, has anyone ever dealt with the electronic billing and the legal consequences on the taxi tariff from you? Recently, more and more cash registers want to get their invoices “by electronic means”. If one sends a paper bill (which corresponds to the German standard to an invoice completely) the cash registers want to deduct “up to 5%” from the invoice amount in the future. I think that can be done to the dear friends of the health insurance already because of the tariff After all, the taximeter says, for example, “EUR 15.80” and not “EUR 15.80 minus x% due to the form of the invoicing”. Am I the only one who sees it like that? I find that a typical cheekiness of the health insurance companies. I can’t deduct 5% of my workshop bill either, just because Daimler doesn’t put a pre-caught bank transfer carrier into my bill and that would be quite right for me. MFG Sven
