  • Tesla Infotainment – The right way?

With its large monitor and the vast absence of buttons and switches, Tesla has set accents and impressed many at first sight. Whether this was innovative may be answered by others. I wonder if Testa is on the right track here. I can still understand the operation via a large touch screen instead of switch, even if other manufacturers sometimes leave it again (e.g. Range Rover when controlling the seat heating). I see the infotain a bit more problematic. Some basic functions to implement and then rely exclusively on the browser in the large display I do not consider sufficient, especially since the browser does not allow audio output. Cars are not notebooks, the users are on the road, which not only demands concentration, but also cannot guarantee that there is a constant connection to the Internet. For this reason, I consider it better when working with apps, the data lok In addition to the car-friendly display and operation, this also includes voice output and input. You simply have to imagine that many Tesla drivers read Twitter posts during the journey and answer them via the keyboard. Should this be the right way?

  • Tesla and other electric cars – future?

Hello I don’t know if the thread is in the right place here, but the Tesla compartment here probably has the most readers who deal with electric cars, I would like to ask the following questions: Do electric cars have a future at all? And this is for the following reasons: For the first time it is clear that electric cars are more efficient in themselves, their efficiency is about 80% ? They do not emit exhaust gases, that is also nice. Anyway, they are only in direct wise energy efficiency Indirectly they would be a disaster. The electricity used to charge the electric cars is usually produced in a coal-fired power plant or oil-fired power plant (which itself is only 30% energy efficient). There are also heaps of exhaust gases. And yes, most of the electricity at least in Germany is produced from fossil power plants. And I don’t think we want to set up even more power plants in all of Germany. And not to forget the electricity supply. (Well, petrol also has to be transported to the petrol station = loss.) Absolutely in my opinion electric cars are less energy efficient. I think they will only exist in a small framework because there is a small market gap that can be filled exactly with Tesla or another brand. But I think that these companies will not be much bigger than they are. In the overall balance I think the small cars that consume about 3l / 100 km consume a Hybrid cars also have good chances, but only if batteries are developed, which consist of raw materials that are available in excess and are cheap in production and recycling. Electric cars would have chances, but only if power plants would exist, which energy would be generated from renewable energies. Solar panels are far too inefficient. And with wind power clouds, the wind doesn’t blow all the time. electric cars are a great thing from the technical point of view and deserve respect. But don’t prove themselves if everyone had one. Has this been discussed before, are there solutions to the problems raised?

  • 2024 Taycan II: Range and charging speed significantly improved

On autobild Online you can find some interesting values for Taycan Facelift. With the pre-production car the range was about 520 kilometers. Well, in California, but still in real life and not on the test bench. From 8 to 80% SOC the Taycan II was loaded in 16 minutes. If these values confirm themselves in reality and Porsche does not hit all too much at the Taycan prices, the Taycan II stands for the next new purchase with me on the note. Porsche not changed: The very successful design from my point of view.

  • 12V battery empty/caputt must be originals or does it go unoriginal?

Hello dear Porsche fans, I am new here and hope for help! I have recently been in possession of a Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo Bj. 2021 with slight front damage and unfortunately the airbags went up. The 12V battery is empty and cannot be charged according to the Porsche center, where I ask myself the question, if this is correct there is described in the operating instructions the possibility of a starting aid. Furthermore, PZ says that the battery can only be replaced with an ORIGINAL battery. , that car or tester can only recognize an original battery and only then further test or the activation of the HV battery can be performed. Since the car should be made ready to drive also the HV battery must be reactivated (due to the triggering of the airbags was deactivated). However, Porsche can not guarantee me if I buy an original new battery, which the Hv battery can be activated without airbags. Please answer if who like Erfa Thank you very much already.

  • 21 Inch mature

Does anyone have experience with 21 inch Michelin Pilot Sport on his Taycan ? I like these tires only there is no NO identification of Porsche.

  • If I have activated the Dynamic Light System Plus with the Taycan via FOD, don’t notice any function.

Hello, my Taycan EZ 12/2023 has released the Dynamic Light System Plus for three months for the FOD (function on demand). Have the serial lighting. The function is unlocked and the light symbol in the instrument cluster is also available with an A symbol. However, I do not notice any difference to the one before. In the dark nothing is hidden and not automatically hidden. Do I do something wrong? Or is the function not to be used?

  • E-Boxster

Hello, there is already new reliable information about the market launch of the E-Boxster. There are always new YT films – but without new information.

  • Are 5 months of workshop time acceptable?

My Taycan had 32,000 km on the clock when a battery cell gave up his mind.On 31.03.2024 (this is not a typographical error) he was taken to the workshop in Bamberg and there he is still 25.08.24! Lt. Information from a Porsche mechanic currently has only a few high-voltage workshops, because such a high number of battery problems were not expected. I therefore had to wait several months until in my case in Pforzheim an appointment became free. Atterie was repaired, a call-back action w/ brake hoses was added, which means that my car is still in the workshop. Reason: Brake hoses are not available at the moment. First ic h got a Macon as a replacement car, but because I did not want to have a burner, also because of the fuel costs, I got a Taycan as a replacement car on 23.05.24. This drive up to today. Setens Porsche I have received no excuse for the problem until today. As always, compensation was not offered to me at all. Is this a premium manufacturer’s appropriate behaviour towards a customer? 5 Montae is my car in the workshop!

  • Does Tesla permanently control the charging power for high-speed charging?

In the USA it has now become known that Tesla has installed in its models a “maximum number for unrestricted fast-adjustments”. As soon as a certain number of fast-adjustments is exceeded, the maximum charge current power that the vehicle is allowed to record is reduced DAUERHAFT. This is also true for superchargers for other fast-adjustment systems. A user of a one-year Tesla S 90 has now driven 30,000 miles (48,000 kilometers) reported that he has recently been a The reduction of the charging power or a noticeable extension of the charging time on the supercharger has found.https://teslamotorsclub.com/…/ A review by Tesla itself has shown that Tesla has installed a kind of “counter”. If a certain number of fast-adjustments are achieved, the maximum charging power is throttled DUERHAFT. This means that from this point on superchargers and other fast-adjustments can only be charged with reduced charging power. rquittung:https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/attachments/dcfc-ro-3-jpg.225738/ Quotation Original Tesla Quotation:”Concern: Customer states: speed of charging at Superchargers is topping out at lower speeds then previously observed. This has happened at multiple superchargers recently. Corrections: Supercharger General Diagnostics Conclusion: No Trouble Found Review vehicle logs and verify charging is topping out a lower rate than observed on early DC charging sessions. According Tesla engineers once vehicle has been DC fast charged over a specified amount, the battery management system restricts DC charging to prevent degradation of the battery pack. According Tesla engineers, this vehicle has seen significant DC fast charging and is now has permanently restricted DC charging speeds. ” This limitation by fast-adding counter is thus used to reduce degeneration (capacity loss) of the battery. In the further course of the discussion we will discuss whether and in what way durc h this limitation the promised characteristics of the car are no longer available and how acute the battery degeneration in Tesla is by fast-adjustments. Another topic is whether this exceeding the fast-ade number limit value will lead to a reduction of the used car prices for such models. Generally it is criticized that this “counter” for fast-adjustments or the upper limit has not been communicated by Tesla so far.

  • Cross versus Sport – how significant is the difference?

I’m thinking about buying a Cross Turismo or Sport Turismo. I tend to cross 4s with PASM. Question for those of you who have already driven – Do I have significant disadvantages with regard to the driving characteristics compared to the Sport Turismo? For me, the Cross has in addition to optical aspects also the advantage that you can cope better in rough terrain (e.g. all of Belgium haha). Another general question about the Porsche used cars. If I have a Porsche Approved Gebra If I want to buy a car from a distant PZ, can I then process it via my local PZ or are the used car stocks tied to the PZ that bought the car?
