  • Tesla Quarterly Report 1/2014 – Gigafactory Bau Start 2014?

“We are pressing forward on a variety of initiatives to continue our growth in 2014 and beyond. We are expanding our factory capacity to support increased Model S production later this year and the introduction of Model X next year. Extensive development work on Model X is underway and we expect to have production design prototypes ready in Q4. Meanwhile, we are opening new stores, service centers and Superchargers at a faster rate, and later this year we will kick off construction of the gig afactory. 2014 is already a very busy year.” “The Gigafactory project is on course to begin battery cell and pack production in 2017. We have not yet completed the ultimate location for the Gigafactory and we are going to start work on at least two locations in parallel in order to minimize In-Vehicle Paperless Lease Acceptance” http://files.shareholder.com/…/Q1&?…

  • Deleted posts from KaJu74`s Blog

Since I am not for censorship, but discussions in my blog will delete rigorously from now on, I pack all deleted posts in here. There can then be further discussion. @ SparAstra Well, at Subaru it is 69kWh heat energy of which about 1/3 are turned into motion (23 kWh) and the rest into heat. At Tesla it is exactly the other way around: use of 69kWh heat energy in the power plant with an efficiency of 45%. each 6% energy loss per 100km power transmission line (re With an average distance of 200km from the power plant, we still have 12% loss) Then 10% loss while charging and discharging. So (45 + 12 + 10) 67% loss. And so we land exactly at the 23kWh which are put into motion. Greetings SparAstra Of course I know that KaJu74 with “own solar power” charges his vehicle. >My Subaru needs 69 kWh / 100 km. Here you can see what a vintage car I drive and how to deal with energy. @emobilezukunft Besch Are you going to be using your oven, TV, fridge etc. about the poor efficiency of the power generation? If no ,why then with the car? @SparAstra Why I only complain to the car? Because the absolute numbers are highest here: My TV needs about 200kWh per year (for this, 600 kWh heat is required in the power plant) My refrigerator needs about 100kWh per year (for this, 300 kWh heat is required in the power plant) The Tesla needs approx. Year (that’s 13800 kWh heat is needed in the power plant, i.e. 1393 liters of diesel, that’s converted 6.96 L diesel / 100km). Don’t you think that you could move a Tesla with a ventilated diesel engine below 6.96 L diesel / 100km? Is another topic when the electricity really comes from renewables, like KaJu74. But all the others who just hang their electric car to the “normal power grid”. Just make it clear where the “big chunks” are, where you can save energy. ß SparAstra To my heating system: It already has about 99% efficiency (about 15000kWh per year of gas pure, about 149xx kWh of heat out). However, the biggest mess would be to heat with electricity (night storage ovens …) there for the approximately 15000kWh heat would have to be generated in my house in the power plant about 45000kWh heat. > Do you actually complain about the bad > efficiency of the power generation? > If no, why d ann by the car?

  • Charging at 230V house connection

I have a 5.5kWp solar system at home which is integrated into the house network. On a good sunny day – depending on the season – I produce with it between 25 and 35 kWh a day. If I now simply connect my Model S during the largest solar radiation (between 11 and 16h) to a house socket, I should be able to charge in these 5 hours approx. 15-20kWh directly from the solar system (as long as no other large consumers like washing machine are switched on). If this option – or age me The charge from the grid without PV energy is enough overnight – I don’t need an additional home charging station. Is that right – or do I make a mistake somewhere? Only if all this is too slow for me, I need e.g. a 11kW (400V, 16A) three-phase socket – then in the best case only half of the energy comes from my solar roof.

  • Tesla overtakes Mercedes in the brand perception ranking

The report is here and surprises in a few respects: http://www.consumerreports.org/…/index.htm Quote: The brand to watch is Tesla Motors, which jumped from 47 points last year, to fifth position and 88 points this year. Tesla had a strong, very public year, with soaring stock prices, magazines awards, sterling crash-test performance, and even claims the spot as the top-rated car by Consumer Reports. Innovation, performance, and sleep styling is clearly gaining attention and mak ing a positive impression. By accumulating points in several categories, Tesla was able to raise its overall score. This highlights the value of being good at multiple things, rare than relying on a single facet. Mercedes has slipped by two positions in reliability. Who would have thought that Jaguar, Mini and Jeep are among the losers. Overall brand perception Best # Brand Score 1. Toyota 145 2. Ford 120 3. Honda 109 4. Chevrolet 105 5. Tesla Motors 88 6. • Updated survey: How satisfied were you with your Tesla in 2014?

As in previous years, we would like to know how you came through the previous year with your mobile kit. Were you satisfied or were there worries and troubles with your vehicle or the service of the manufacturer?Even if you have voted in December: In some forums the survey was broken. Because all MOTOR-TALKers should have the same chance to express their opinion, we decided to close the survey in general and start over now. n News: How satisfied were you in 2014 with your Tesla? Voice in the survey and external praise or criticism as a comment. We have to many manufacturers a direct wire and they read with us on MOTOR-TALK. That’s why your opinion is exactly where it should end up: at Tesla.

  • Tesla-Giga-factory: Construction starts at the beginning of 2014, prices for electric cars are expected to fall significantly

Hello I did not find this as my own topic here, so here again:http://ecomento.tv/…/ Incl. recycling of the “old battery packs”. I call this exemplary and responsible. 6,500 new jobs. I call that visions have and implement.http://www.teslamotors.com/…/gigafactory.pdf PS: Found it in Greencars area. Delete if necessary if unnecessary.

  • 500+ g CO2/km – who else wants to drive Tesla?

Tesla Model S is sold as an eco-friendly e-car. Those who want to be green or environmentally friendly should perhaps still decide against Tesla. According to the American investigation, one kilometer with Tesla Model S causes 547 g CO 2/km there. It is of course dependent on power generation, but the order of magnitude should be correct. The power generation is also now, without nuclear power not cleaner, quite the contrary. Tesla is a 2100 kg heavy car and therefore much too much to s It is interesting to see how long it takes before politicians in different countries will understand it and the various promotions will end or be limited.http://www.uniteconomics.com/…/Tesla_Motors_Is_the_Model_S_Green.pdf LG Jukka

  • Toyota also separates itself from Tesla shares…

Toyota also separates itself from Tesla shares. TOKIO/PALO ALTO (dpa-AFX) – Like Daimler, the Japanese automaker Toyota has separated itself from shares in the US electric car pioneer Tesla. A Toyota spokesperson confirmed the move on Friday, but did not provide any information on the timing and scope of the share sale. At the end of March, Toyota had held 2.4 percent of Tesla shares. “We have a good relationship with Tesla and will examine which other joint projects we are planning to undertake. The time for the RAV4 off-road vehicle, which was jointly developed by Toyota and Tesla, expires after the partners sold around 2500 copies within two years. Now, the companies are starting to separate their models. On Tuesday, the German Daimler Group had already announced its departure as Tesla shareholder. Stuttgarters cut more than EUR 600 million for the approximately four percent stake. However, the cooperation with Tesla in vehicle projects is to be continued./stw/men/stbWith this valuation on the capital market… no wonder, all men on board. (before the quarterly figures)

  • Has Elon founded Musk Tesla?

If you can believe this article here: No.http://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-the-original-story-2014-10 According to this article, the two driving forces behind the idea of building an electric car with superior performance, equipped with commercial lithium batteries, are Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. The article describes the story that led to the idea of an electric supercar, the founding of Tesla Motors and the construction of the Tesla Roadster. And I find it. So the role of Elon Musk in the development of the decisive innovations is much smaller than often assumed here. Of course: Musk was the first major investor, he got in a year after the company was founded, and he managed to get more investors on board. Without Musk, Tesla would probably not exist anymore. But without Eberhardt and Tarpenning, Tesla would probably never have existed;-) If you could believe the article, Musk was at the start of the project. Tesla is far more concerned with his role in Space-X and the situation that he would soon be the father of twins. The article is really very exciting.
