  • Why can’t I go faster?

    Hello municipality, I just found out on the highway that my Lupo is driving only 120 km/h and I can do what I want and the speedometer can’t get over the speed. I didn’t turn on a cruise control or something like that. Speed is 4000 rpm and it doesn’t light a lamp or the car gives me any feedback. What can that be?

  • Central locking problem

    Hello Lupo friends, I bought a used Lupo yesterday. When I tried the de/activation of the alarm system yesterday, I noticed that something was wrong with the ZV. The following happens: At the driver’s door only the driver’s door is opened. The alarm system remains active, even if the door is open. When the ignition is started, the other doors open and the alarm system is deactivated. When the driver’s door is locked, all doors are closed, even the driver’s door is opened immediately.   • Clutch cable changed since the extremely early pressure point

    I changed my clutch rope today. Orginal ate. Used and then removed white fuse. I now have the problem that I have to step through the clutch until completely to insert the gear. Bzw. sometimes it doesn’t go in. The clutch comes immediately when coupling in. What I noticed is that the first 50% when stepping is hardly resistance and only the typical resistance comes after that.

  • Oil control lamp and temperature variation

    Hello all, my LUPO 1.4 60PS BJ 2001 (AUD) causes problems that I can’t fix. If the engine is warm and only when driving, not in the stand, the oil control light goes on and beeps. It beeps a few times and lights up. At some point it starts by itself, but after a few minutes the whole thing repeats itself. The temperature in the engine varies between 90 and 80 degrees. So it always peels off and then the oil control light goes on. Oil is enough. Oil separator has already been changed. Oil is new. Does anyone know what it might be?

  • Oil separator defective 170km / 20 days after inspection

    Model: VW Lupo EU3-D 37 GAt5G Type: 6x10W4 Model year and approval: 1999 On 3.1.2017 the car was given for inspection. In addition to brake fluid, oil changes and oil filters some defects were noted. A defect on the oil separator was not noticed. This had now after 170km since the inspection a defective car remained. The maintenance on the 3.1 was initiated after warning about the amateur display, i.e. the maintenance dependent on the km stand. Therefore, it should have been a major maintenance. Today after the breakdown the car was towed away and brought to the workshop, which had also carried out the inspection. Since I had an important appointment, my friend had to handle the case at this time. Now we have a repair order before and a new oil separator was ordered. In addition to the repair order, the repair order should not have been sent to us now or can I insist on a used replacement part? The workshop has been quite aware that in July the Lupo only with large, too large, investments come by the TÜV.

  • Coupling change 1.4TDI

    It was just in a workshop because of my clutch. Conclusion. It is closed after 120000km. The wanted to have 250€ for the installation. I have already purchased a LUK rep set, and just need a mounting. Has someone from you changed the clutch on a 1.4TDI AMF engine before? If yes, can write me a short instruction with the problems that occur etc. Although I bought “so is done” and screw everything itself just the clutch makes me worry. Is it even from a layman to change? I would of course have support from a fellow student, who did a car training at VW. Just a training. But it is not too sure anymore…. Finding a suitable workshop is also no problem with us, here there are well equipped rental workshops at every corner. Thanks for every comment!

  • ZV – Unlocking not possible

    Hello, With our 6x 1l from 99 spins the ZV. Unlocking is possible, only do not lock. With the switch in the car it works perfectly, so I can exclude the engines. Only with the key from the outside it does not work. No matter whether driver door or passenger door. With the door open light there is also a problem. It works if I unlock but not from when closing the doors. If I lock the inside then it goes after a few seconds but no more at when opening the doors. I am now asked where to start looking. Do you have any idea?

  • Tank lid can no longer be closed

    With my tank cover the key can be turned, but it does not lock the lid. I already tried the search and apparently these lids are mechanically too weak against violent opening. Have already had relevant experience with gasoline thieves here in my area. And who does that, will quickly have out which vehicle types are there slight victims. Thus, it would be quite useful to have a reasonably solid lockable lid on the tank. Does anyone have experience with replacement tank covers from ebay etc? Can the lock be exchanged for the old lock with these spare parts, so that I don’t need two keys? Is there perhaps other better tank covers of more modern vehicle models that would fit on the Lupo tank?

  • AGR system: rule line below P3131

    Hello dear Lupo community, I have been having the problem for some time now that my Lupo 3L year 2003 runs out every now and then when I walk off the gas. It only works after several attempts to get it back. I had thought it was the LMM, because I was shown this error. After I had exchanged it, the error went away and the MKL went out. Now, after about 100 km, the error did not appear, but for another one. I wanted to ask if it is now at the AGR valve and if I should change it or if it would be enough if I would clean it. I honestly say that somewhere air is evaporating, but finding out that somehow doesn’t work as I want. I wanted to ask for help how I should proceed now. With kind regards, Ali
