  • Clips for front turn signal do not snap in, is there a remedy?

    Hello, can someone tell me how the VW Lupo flasher hood is fixed sideways between front bumper and bonnet? There are clips, see photos, which supposedly only have to be pressed on and then snapped. But they don’t. Nothing rests, it doesn’t hold anything. Even with the greatest effort they are not locked in, just a bracket for the clips on the aperture has already broken away. (How can you construct such thin bridges where a force effect is necessary?) How should the clips work at all? Do the transparant sleeves remain on the white pins or do they have to be pulled off beforehand and inserted into the holes of the fenders? I have already tried to understand the function, to press the pins into the sleeves with the pliers, but nothing moves at all. I also tried to pull out. Also, zero movement. How should this hold, I can easily push the clips into the fender holes and pull them out again. If the pen is in the sleeve, I should never ask for a solution.

    Hello members, I have a problem with my 3l. year 2000. Sometimes and more and more often I turn the ignition key and the starter moves out and turns on the engine only one tenth of a second.     Hello together, I tried the search, but found nothing suitable. I bought my wife yesterday a lupo 1,4l bj 2001 with manual climate. Unfortunately the compressor does not start. Safety box on battery is already cleaned and it also gets voltage through! Fans also does not work. Vcds says climate requirement is there. Normally I have always discovered the pressure switch. At lupo unfortunately not. I wanted to have bridges now to see if compressor starts. Where does it sit exactly? I only found a 3 popligen. Mhh. If it is that, which bridges should be? Seat in the mudguard behind the wheelhouse shell on the right. Before I have coolant filled up, I wanted to see if everything works and only too little coolant is on it. Still what: if there is no pressure there, and the clutch does not pull, then the fan would have to turn on anyway? I hope you can help me.

  • Knocking noises in all corridors

    My Lupo 3 L is built in 2000 and has 185000 km I shut down the car 3 years ago because I needed something with trailer coupling and I didn’t want to continue with the knocking noises. I always wanted to tackle the problem, but I never had the time to do it. Now my daughter is at the forelight and it’s time that I started to do it. But I wanted to listen before if the problem is known. So it’s a quite loud, speed-dependent knocking in all gears and it suddenly occurred. The car got a new engine at 41000 km and according to the previous owner already 2 gears. At 51000 km the complete clutch unit including gears and control unit was replaced again. Since then I had no problems with the gearbox and clutch, except that it basically switches rough for my terms. Does someone have similar experiences with the knocking noises? Before I start screwing, I would like to resort to the experiences of others.

  • lupo 3l with manual connection – coupling problems

    hi. with one of my 3l lupos, converted to a manual circuit, the clutch doesn’t separate. moreover, the clutch pedal is very heavy. the whole thing is unchanged after inserting a new (automatic) clutch train. I can’t make a rhyme out of the combination of symptoms. if the clutch doesn’t separate, I would think that something is not taken away, so maybe something is broken or torn inside the gearbox. however, this seems to contradict itself with the fact that the clutch operation is so heavy. the actualization of the clutch is equally constant and does not make any noise. who can make a rhyme on it? the gearbox dismantling is a bit slow, since I would like to knock off all other (diagnosis) possibilities before. thank you for reading.

  • Tandem pump defective – Lupo goes out suddenly – fuel deficiency

    Hello, wanted to report about a problem with my Lupo 3L. After approx. 1500 m drive the engine starts during the ride. Several start attempts futile. Engine turns on but no signs. Tow off and off to the workshop. For information: The Lupo 3l has no fuel pump in the tank but at the front of the engine a tandem pump (vacuum pump and diesel pump in one) In the workshop the return run from the pump to the tank has been clamped and see, the engine is running. So the error lies somewhere between the pump’s front and back run. First the suspicion was that the injectors are leaking. The seals were somewhat rubbed but probably not the cause. Nevertheless, the seals were switched. (approx. 30 Euro per injector) Next the pump was removed. With the help of a hose and funnel diesel was connected to the feed and turned by hand the pump. The diesel came to the largest part from the return run instead of the pressure side to the injectors. Unfortunately I still wait for the new pump. Did someone already have such a case?

  • Question about the Lupo 1.4 FSi coupling

    Hello together, as it looks like I need a new clutch set for our Lupo 1.4 FSI. The problem is, there is probably no more than a new part at VW. Now my question, does the clutch set from the 3L Lupo fit? Here is the data VW Lupo 1.4 FSI, built in 2001. Engine code ARR. Transmission code FFT. The Lupo already has an engine from 2002, of course also ARR. The engine ran, or runs. The gearbox basic setting broke down however. Since then the Lupo no longer starts. After that we have replaced the hydraulic unit and the clutch sensor cylinder. Problem still exists. Therefore now coupling replacement. Thanks for your help. Greeting Sebastian FSI

  • Windscreen wiper broken on one side

    Hello, unfortunately I have no idea and wanted to ask before the passage into the workshop if someone with the problem has experiences. So my windscreen wiper at the front only goes on one side. So driver side still works, passenger side is defect. The problem is that the rail that drives the right wiper has solved itself from the holder of the wiper. I can’t see if there is something broken. I can now, if I open the bonnet, push this track again from below to the windscreen wiper, but nothing rests there and the track replaces itself after 5 minutes drive again. Does one maybe have a tip on how I can fix this, or does a part have to be replaced, since broken? I know it is difficult to say by remote diagnosis, but I would hate that there is completely changed for xxx Euro, if it would also be easy.

  • VW Lupo 3l goes out in N position and D position after a few seconds

    Hello Together, I have a Lupo 3L year of construction 2003 with approx. 180,000km. He jumped at first without any problems after the winter break and after approx. 15 km travel distance and start again he always went out after a short time when switching to D. The clutch was made before approx. 5000km and the pressure storage and largely all seals (all were available according to the workshop). After the clutch change he only started to N. Otherwise he ran without any problems last season. I before I was towed off the battery already several times and the car then started, however, he went out immediately when switching to D or R. The workshop has now changed the basic setting and adjusted the clutch value. Now the car drives partly again, but in N or sporadically at the traffic light in D it goes out nevertheless. The free workshop now does not want to make any further. VW basically replaces the gearseller, coupler cylinder etc. and requires approx. 350€ I don’t know any specialist in the area of Munich. Do you know one? I type a defective clutch or wish to solve this problem?
