  • Battery lamp stays on after starting

If I don’t, the consumers will become weaker over time. I changed the voltage regulator on the alternator half a year ago. The V-belt on the alternator is also well tensed and the same is stuck. Does anyone have any idea what this can be about? Do the days still have to measure the alternator, but since they give after gas wall-mounted It doesn’t necessarily sound like it, does it? Thank you for your help. Greetings Bany

  • It only runs on three cylinders… but not always.

Hello guys, my Passat Bj 90 runs all at once only on three cylinders. I requested ADAC and he found that it was the valves. How can I understand that. Valves and ignition, what do the two things have to do with each other. The whole thing happened to me in Holland and I immediately went to a workshop and had all spark plugs changed. After that the problem was not gone. Then I immediately drove home (approx. 250km) and then heard after approx. 100km loud noise from the engine compartment, but only if I rolled slowly in the traffic jam. What happened there and how can I solve the problem or is everything already too late??? P.S. After another 100 km, however, the clapping stopped and I had the feeling of the car driving back to normal.

  • electrical mirror heating defective? Too low power (measured)

Hello Passat-Forum, for testing the heatable exterior mirrors I have waited until now to not break off any plastic clips during the expansion. In winter it seemed funny to me with the heatable mirrors, but this is my first car with electric mirrors. There is no infarction values. Anyway, it takes forever until the toads have passed and now I measured: at 13.8 volts a current flows at an altitude of about 18 mA. This is quite identical with both, but results in an H icy power of about 0.25 watts. That’s not okay, seems to me to be much too small value. Retrofit films at Conrad for example bring it to over 1 A, i.e. 12-15 watts. That seems to me more like a suitable power. Are my heatable mirrors now defective and can you get these individually? Nice greeting Erik

  • Water leaks! Different diagnoses

Hello guys, My Passat TDI 110 HP Bj.98 KM 135 Tsd. loses a lot of water last time. First diagnosis at ATU was that there was a leaking engine and a flange was not dense. It was replaced. About 2 months quiet had. Now it starts again, but sometimes no water tracks to see. After highway ride the whole content is consumed. On city trips very little. According to ATU after a pressure test a case for VW. Suspect on head seal. Was at the VW they have under the container (on the vessel Body lime drip traces discovered) VW was the first to diagnose water pump and if I had bad luck, the head seal could also be defective. It recommended me to start with the replacement of water pump. After driving home I looked again under the tank and discovered about 10 fresh drip traces. On this I looked with my hand on leaks. On the surface below of container was moisture. What do you mean it could be. I am m I’ll be very grateful if you can help me.

  • VR6 Built 06/95 Consumption???

Hi! I’m about to buy these cars. If any of you have such experiences about consumption, I’d be happy if you would post here so that I could get a plan of what’s coming to me? Would it be okay if you could tell me what else I have to pay attention to when buying? Greetings nova2003

  • micro-stones windshield

Hello! Since my car purchase about a year ago, my windshield has carried away numerous tiny and a larger rockfall. These small (diameter < 0.5 mm, but very many) deteriorate the view forward in counterlight extreme. Also on the sliding roof are 2, and on the rear window (!) a stonefall. Now I ask myself: Is this normal or does someone like to throw stones on my car from the window. Or can it be that my disc somehow nothing out of I'd like to know that before I let the disc be renewed. Lg Michi

  • Moisture in the interior

Hello, my Passat 35i Variant (Bj 1989) is unfortunately not quite dense 🙁 Under the floor mat in front of the back seat (passenger side) it is quite damp. Then I took up the carpet there and underneath it is really wet. Does anyone have an idea or there are well-known places where I should start looking? Door seals or something like that? Thank you J.

  • Passat G60 syncro

Hi, what experiences did you have with this vehicle? I don’t want to hear/read “let your fingers off the G-loaders” and something like that. If the G-loaders are cared for, too. I’m interested in your driving impressions. Would you recommend the G60 syncro? Unfortunately, the search function was not very productive.
