  • Phaeton lettering tailgate

    There are certainly a large number of members in the forum who have a Phaeton with lettering on the luggage compartment flap. I only had the sign delivered to me and have now come to the conviction to attach it. My request to you, inform me of the dimensions of the distances. In the middle is already clear, but e.g. from above so lights to the VW emblem or below to the edge tail flap. From images it can be assumed that the lower edge of the lights could also be lower edge lettering.

  • Blow engine – possibly suitable alternative?

    While browsing, I came across an offer on eBay for a blower fan, for an A8. I noticed that this one looks very similar to that of Phaeton. https://www.ebay.de/itm/283932152758 If someone just has an original at hand, would it be possible that they could sacrifice themselves and compare the fans? Perhaps would be a suitable alternative part. Or maybe someone even knows it.

  • Ignition no longer works after use of the spare key

    A nice evening together, today seems to have taken me a lot of bad luck. On the weekend I left my first key with a colleague in the car and thought to myself – nothing matter, you have the second key at home, can wait. Now I took my second key today and found that the battery is empty. Had to open the car with the physical key and also start by turning around in the ignition lock. So far so good, the car went on and showed in the instrument cluster only, a battery change would be due + key symbol. So I completed several rides and left it standing. Hours later I wanted to leave again, but the key turn did not cause anything. Entertainment etc. normally starts by itself. – I changed the key battery and convinced myself to be able to open and close the car again with this key. -The hope that the first key brought by later would be via ignition lock or ke yless can’t be ignited either. So it’s clearly not up to the keys themselves. Luckily I have access to VCDS… following error messages jumped out. The first will probably criticize the battery of the second key. The second one was written exactly at the moment when I turned the key “unsuccessfully” at 12:42 the first time. See screenshots. What can or should I do best? Thank you in advance.

    Hello dear people, I’ve recently been driving a Phaeton GP 3 Bj 2012 3.0 TDI Some things I’ve already repaired and fixed. Now I’ve come across a bug for access permission with VCDS. 00165 – Switch for gear position P/N 010 – Interruption/Short circuit after Plus – Sporadic Environment conditions: Error status: 00101010 Error priority: 3 Error frequency: 14 Error counter: 71 Time indication: 0 Date: 2064.00.00 Time: 00:00:14 It works but everything o I can delete the error, but I will come back after a short time. Where can I find this switch, where is it installed? Switching scenery or in the gearbox? Of course, I’m glad that I don’t have any problems with it, but somehow I would like to know why this error is in the memory and what it could mean. Thank you for helpful tips or hints.   • Error reading shows a few problems – who can help?

    Hello forum. I bought a GP3 with first registration 12/2010 as a long version a few days ago. I am actually quite happy so far and have only a small list of errors (knock on wood). With 4 screenshots of my error selection. By the way, all these errors can not be deleted, but are permanently present. “Releasing seat heating” – I don’t notice anything so far. The seat heating works on all four places. What could this error mean? “Stand motor f ΓΌr Umluftklappe” – Here the selection speaks of a defect. Is this error known and can the umluftklappe be repaired relatively easily or is a specialist workshop required for this? “Temperature sensor for seat backrest” – I can’t quite understand that either. What could that mean exactly? “Motor for child safety back right” – this is actually my biggest problem so far. The door can only be opened from the outside and the window lifter only works from the control panel v If you press the button to open the back door (as if you are sitting on the back seat) then you can hear a quiet click. No noises occur when you press the close function. Is there a control part installed in the door? If yes, does one know the name or possibly part number? If one is able to remove the door panel, then this should be a feasible task, right? I would be happy if one of you can help me VG Tom

  • “Glass Eye” Hidden Details

    Even lovely friends, from the beginning, now “already” over 3 months, repeatedly the cigarette lighter in the center console stabbed me in the eye… Maybe that some Phaeton drivers can use this as a “glass eye” to support during night trips, but since it is a flashlight, by turning on and off is switched on, this would even be a ‘lit (!) glass eye’ Maybe there are other amenities in the Phaeton, which are rather hidden “laure”, ‘of course’on Page 322 ff. of the user manual are to be found, but unfortunately remain undiscovered… Many greetings Jens

  • Separate me from Phaeton because of too many problems

    I had quite a lot of problems with the car a short time ago and I also put 3500 euros in reperatur costs. Well again something else so that the driver doesn’t get bored! The Navi or Zab doesn’t work anymore. But the clock goes! Music and so on I can also drive. The display is sporadic or better said it doesn’t work anymore… In a few weeks I get my new Touareg ” Thank God a modern car ” until then I’m on the shit I am grateful for every help.   • Upgrade Media-IN + Alternatives in GP2

  • What really bothers me after the first few weeks…

    … is the fact that I find the folding of the exterior mirror very impractical. At the beginning I just got a little upset about the really cheap turning knob. I still don’t think that it lasts for a long time. Still, however, when I start the car I forget to drive the mirrors again and again, because I was used to this before at BMW by the individual key coding. Maybe I have to get used to it first.   • Phaeton, a great car!

    Hello dear Phaeton driver, I have been reading for a while about all the problems (or problems) that some P-owners have with their vehicle. I am one of the, perhaps few, that are only satisfied with the car. I would be interested to know who has no (or almost no) problems with his Phaeton.
