  • Preheating problems

Hello together, first of all congratulations to this great forum. Here you get really very helpful information about self-help, really great. Currently I have a problem, however, that I could not find here in this form in the search in the forum so yet: I recently got a VW Phaeton 3.0 TDI year 2011. It was important to me that he has a heater. With previous VWs of me I had problems with the preheating more often, since it was always the circulating pump the defe kt was with the clear symptoms that the heating starts and if the hot water can not circulate the heating switches off completely. Currently I have the problem that twice in the morning after I had activated the heating with remote control (first LED orange wg. Weak battery??? Then green), although the ventilation was on, the green symbol in the tachometer lit up but the heater itself did not give any muck and the air that was out of the ventilation Then I tried to activate the heater over the RNS 810 when the engine was not switched on, but nothing happened. Then I tried it by remote control, even here nothing happened at least after a few minutes, even the green symbol in the rev indicator did not work. Then I turned on the motor of the Phaeton, after that I could activate the heater over the menu in the RNS 810. I ran the vehicle for some time, it came warm e air from the ventilation and then I switched it off again. The heater further ventilated the interior, the green LED in the rev indicator lit and at the front of the left wheel box was occasionally a whirring sound and it smelled like diesel. The air that came out of the ventilation was then cold again. Then I switched off the heater again. I have read that the heater can also be dirty and therefore does not work, but also that the board de It seems to me as a layman that the heater does not ignite, can it also be a board error or do you have a different idea? It is clear that it is only possible to say this finally when a diagnostic device has been connected and experts have looked at it but if necessary someone from you had very similar problems with the heater. I would be very grateful for feedback from you. Many greetings Christian

  • Heating: How warm does it have to be? Why does it switch off randomly?

Moin moin I know that the topic of preheating has already come up a dozen times, but aich did not find an answer to my specific question in the search. My Phaeton TDI is built in 11/2011 and is moved every day to work and back just under 100km. I would like to have the following questions regarding the preheating: – If I activate it exactly what should they have achieved after the full run time of 45 min? Only warm the interior or also increase the engine temperature? And which values should we achieve? rden? How warm should it be inside and how warm should the engine be? – Can I influence the warmth of the interior if, for example, I set the heater to max on the eve and turn on the ventilation nozzles or does it have no influence? – I was on the road for a few days on business and the Phaeti was standing unmoved. The next morning the heater did not jump on and I had an indication because of low voltage or something. I then drove a lap and then it ran late it again, – this morning it was so that the preheating went through but when I wanted to turn on again after 45 minutes test time it was no longer possible. Does the preheating constantly need electricity from the battery? The voltage pointer stands with me on 14 thanks for tips 🙂

  • The steering column control unit of my Phaeton has interrupted the ignition.

Nothing works any more. But without “detonation” the reading of the ECUs does not work via the interface. There should be an emergency function that allows access to the ECUs without which the ignition is active. To do this, some conditions must be met. E.g. on warning indicators, turn ignition keys right-left or similar. Can anyone help me how this emergency function is activated? Greeting GT

  • DIY tailpipes on the Phaeton?

Hello forum, I really like the design of the Hofele rear apron (see appendix) with the tailpipes very well. Is it actually possible to insert suitable apertures into the closed rear apron of the Phaeton V6? So cut out rear apron to the desired tailpipes and possibly stick them in with body glue? Basically, the package with which you could equip the V6 also from factory with the tailpipes is also nothing else, isn’t it? Has someone ever done this before? Vg Thomas

  • Phaeton possible to convert to the convertible?

Hello, I had an A4 convertible B7 until last year which I really liked. But after 5 years I just wanted something different. I sold it. So now I went looking. But honestly, if you drive Phaeton, you get picky. The Bentley GTC is equal. But just too expensive for such an old car. Now come on, you can convert a Phaeton to the convertible. I know this is actually an absolute No Go. But 40000 € for a Bentley of 14 years al It’s… no, it’s serious.

  • Change brake blocks!

Hello, have a VW Phaeton, how to change front the brake pads or what is to be observed ? Love greetings

  • Tips for suitable baby seat / child seat

Hi, we have in our GP3 5-seater an Isofix base station + baby shell of Cybex. Stupidly, the back bench of the Phaeton is quite oblique, so that baby’s head tilts forward at the latest when falling asleep (front is in the fall back, the baby looks towards the back). Without base station it is a little better, but the result is the same. In my wife’s car there is no problem. If one of you has a tip for a better matching combination of base station and babysh Ale/child seat for the Phaeton? VG

  • Consumption indicator BC -vs- actual consumption V6TDI

Hello, I have now covered about 1250km with my grayed P, completely relaxed, quiet, left. I move the good piece daily simply 75km to the work, via highways, country roads and some local & city traffic. The main share of about 80% is however on the highway. I therefore have an extremely moderate average of 9.41L, where I have the first week vacation and since the share of the highway went to NULL. But: this value is calculated, according to daily kilometers and petrol stationquit The BC calculates on my last part calculation a cut of 7,8L / 100km – the calculator says: 43,16L at 501km = 8,61L / 100km Where are the 4,8 liters diesel? Where are they gone? Does my tank attendant fire me? I corrupt the calibration office? OR does the BC simply not consider the consumption of the heater? I have run since these 501km about 10 times the SH for 20 – 30 minutes. Thank you for your answers Greeting Oliver
