Well, there I was on the go, ..and I stayed at the Phaeton. The comfort and long-distance suitability were and are simply not to be surpassed. Besides, the best of all wives….not to be convinced! So I bought a GP3 01/2013 with 14,000km and let again at GAG in Herne. The experiences with the predecessor with 225,000 (!!) trouble-free kilometers ( and meanwhile without problems 255,000 (!!) kilometers with the game mobile 330i on LPG) left me with my mileage performances no other choice, moreover the service and the quality of Mrs Glane is fabulously good. Thanks for a perfect conversion!! Oh yes, I also with the predecessors on long-distance, so possible, far above 200km/h without problems can stop (see also discussion in other Thread). To the vehicle itself: clear further development! Clear, the well-known “disarmaments” are to be noticed, but actually I am satisfied with the rear. Equipment technically he has the “needest” for me, but I did not know how to light up the middle light up! – now – but have to keep quiet.

>60 entries in history – buy or leave
Hello dear community, this week I would like to decide whether to get a Phaeton or not. The equipment is bombastic (20″, ACC, 18 ways, Dynaudio, Rearseat Ent., Long wheelbase, 5 seats, trailer coupling, solar roof, accessories, etc….) RRP ca. 128.000€ I drove – all top the defective things will be fixed if I agreed (tore middle console, roof sky dirty, scratch painting, hit rim, etc.) The only thing that currently slows me down is say and write 60 entries in the history at VW. (to pull aid, corrosion several times, brakes, cross handlebars) The car is from 2012 and has 60.000km away… Can someone help me from the forum? Can I buy a sparbuse or is now everything repaired and you have the next 5-7 years of rest? I am very happy about every helpful contribution. Thank you in advance.

Motorway France Battery problem 🙁
Just stand at a resting place in the south of France and don’t know what to do. When I stopped, I noticed a strong smell. Open the trunk and find out that the battery (left) is boiling hot and hissing. I also think the liquid has run out. Unfortunately, I had a suitcase in front of the flap and suspect that the heat has stalled. Now I sit here with the whole family and don’t really know what to do. No error message and the voltage is also at 14,1 volts. Can you risk a further drive to the hotel after cooling down the battery about 200 km or better let the ADAC come. They drag me to the next workshop, however, which opens only on Monday. Does anyone have advice for me?

Serious defects after purchase of my Phaeton at VW-Vertragswerkstatt
My Phaeton (Bj 12/2008, 80,400km) had oil loss during the transmission which could not be prevented by brutal tightening of the gear cap screws. Finally, one litre was missing. But I feel worse that all four front crossbars had cracks and had to be changed. The tyres had already sawtooth profile. I wonder how this is possible, that although the brakes are renewed but not seen that the crossbars have cracks. Actually, I thought with the purchase of a dealer who is advertising with tested quality on the safe side. Your opinion would interest me very much…

Comfort opening and closing of the GP0?
Unfortunately, I didn’t find out with my question: Can you activate the comfort operation for the windscreen lifters (plus the sliding roof?) via the wireless car key (and also via the central transmission internal button as well as the 2007 Octavia II of my wife?) via VAGCOM? My car, a January 2007 GP0, “can’t” these features.

Snow chains on the Phaeton
Need some advice again. I’m going on a ski holiday soon and there is also a snow chain obligation, because you could not reach the hotel without snow chains. On my Phaeton 19 inch Champion rims are mounted. I bought winter tyres for this now, because these rims should become my winter bikes and I would like to buy a few other rims than summer bikes in the summer next year. Now I’ve been looking everywhere and asked, but it was only told me for this wheel size there are no snow chains because chains are not allowed with this wheel size because there is too little space in the wheel housing. Does anyone have any idea about the topic? Can’t buy extra smaller rims and new winter tires now just in order to be able to pull the snow chains on them for 1 holiday a year. In addition, there is still enough space in the bike box with me…. Besides, I still noticed that only 17 inch rims are registered in my vehicle license. But the 19 inch Champion were already standard as a special equipment. Will not necessarily get problems there if I am stopped. Thanks for all advice.

New ACC error???
Good evening, I have a 2008 V8 and I’m actually very satisfied (laughing after only my old V10). However, I have recently the problem that my ACC fails after 1 minute. In the display ACC error. Was already in the workshop to read out the error memory. Entry (similar wording): Electromagnetic interference. The employee at the friendly was also surprised and didn’t know what it was. Now I have an appointment soon, because the error occurs again and again. What still occurred to me, and he did not do that before. Every time I restart the car and leave as soon as I meet a vehicle, the display “ACC off” shows even though it is turned off. Does anyone have an idea what that can be? Greeting Markus

Stronger alternator for the Phaeton?
Hello, after I have forced my comfort battery into my knees again this week, I am looking for a better permanent solution in the form of a stronger alternator. Why? Because I like to listen to music and my extended system unfortunately also has extended power requirements. If I drive a longer distance with elevated volume, then I have to pamper my comfort battery again after that. If I do not do this, then all possible ECUs – as at present again – collapse. After I have had good experience with the construction of a stronger alternator at my golf times (at that time from 90A to 120A), I am now looking for a stronger alternator for my Phaeton. There is a 190A LM in there from the factory. As far as I have seen this, there are also stronger variants with 220A and 230A at Touareg. Now the question to the specialists: Does one fit in the Phaeton? The motors are essentially the same. MfG

Realistic price for 19″ Helios with new tires?
Hy, tomorrow it’s time. My V8 is back from Dresden and is finally ready for my pick-up in Ettlingen. First official position will be to throw down the 19″er and enjoy the maximum driving comfort with 17″ impression as long as possible. Let’s see how long I can endure the look. Since I will change to 20″er when I can’t see it anymore (have never driven anything smaller on my S-Class so far), I want to sell the Helios. The GMD has “spended” new tyres and the rims should be in good condition, if not equally renewed. Which price would be appropriate for the complete wheel set? Would not want to charge moon prices, but not give them here either.

Phaeton reliability?!
Hello people, drive since 11.2011 with great enthusiasm Lancia Thesis 3.0 V6. This is my 4th Lancia in a row since 1993 (thema, Kappa Limo, Kappa SW, Thesis) and really a very comfortable glider (was also Italy’s state coach). Since it was year 2002 I will have to look over for a short or long time but after another car, even if it was optically and technically well cared for and becomes. The only annoying on my diva are frequently occurring error indicators, which in most cases turn turn out to be false messages and disappear after some time by itself. The car is just stunned with extremely many sensors, which occasionally sensitively react to weather influences etc. A real DIVA just!!! By the way, it never went so far that they would have let me down, but sometimes it is annoying and was especially frightening at the beginning. Since the phaeton is often seen as a particularly reliable and of special processing and material quality, I have never seen it as a follow-up. But now I have heard the forum of the sound of the electric time and often heard about problems.
