I’ve been driving my Phaeton for 5 years now and since then have had all inspections made at the VW dealer, where I had bought the car at the time with 70,000 km. Up to problems with the exhaust side (including turbocharger) there was nothing to complain about the car. I have in the meanwhile almost 55 years, in which I drive cars never had a better car. Now to my problem: For a few weeks I notice that the engine before traffic lights sometimes threatens to “swallow “. ( I’m not sure, but I mean that this phenomenon especially occurs when it is very hot). Now stands the 240,000 he inspection and I have checked times. During the pre-last inspection the transmission oil was checked. I also can’t discover that the air conditioning would have been checked times – should you not fill those at regular intervals again? I myself actually have no idea of cars, I just like to drive this Phaeton and want to make sure that he has accompanied me as long as possible. But I don’t know how to put into this forum, but I don’t have to put into this kind of technical questions in my workshop anymore. I have quite a bit of technical questions I’s

VW Phaeton Secure-Car Warranty
Hello dear forum, about a year ago I bought my Phaeton V8. I am very satisfied with it, but with increasing age the probability of defects on the vehicle grows. Therefore I looked for a guarantee that I can make for the Phaeton. Unfortunately I had to find with regret that there is no guarantee insurance (anyhow on the net) that would insure my loyal glider. Here a link: https://www.secure-car.de I find the conditions very good, for the sake of security I would opt for the most extensive variant. Does anyone have experience with this insurer? Does this page make a trustworthy impression on you? Greetings

Damage to the rear apron
Unfortunately I made a driving mistake yesterday, which has torn the rear apron on the right exhaust. On the picture you can see it well. The upper part of the bumper got nothing 🙂 What do the specialists mean, should and can one repair it, or buy it again? Allen a cozy 1. Advent greeting Thomas

Conversion headlights to facelift headlights with daytime driving LED
Since September 08 I have the facelift headlights with daytime running LEDs to lie at my tuning workshop. Unfortunately, you have not managed to build them fully functional to this day (3 or 4 runs). My Phaeton has 10 pole plugs and the headlights 14 pole plugs. All control units of the new headlights are also available.

Paint the caliper
when I look like this through the “wheel holes”, it doesn’t look so nice behind it. I’m thinking about having the brake calipers painted. First of all, what color is there?Painting Phaeton is beryllium grey (this always dirty color) In summer I drive silver rims (serres), in winter black shiny Keskin) red separates for me – black shiny would be an option or silver – or ??? has someone another idea ?? Does anyone still know how long it takes to dry the brake caliper painting? Greeting Wolfgang

Heating defective / delayed interior late warm
Hello, since it has become colder, I notice the following problem, the interior is getting warm very late. More precisely, it comes after the start in the morning, at the moment it is in the garage 10 degrees, always cold air out, until after about 15 minutes drive and/or engine temperature about 85-90 degrees, it becomes “beat-like” warm. As if a valve opens, and then “right” warm air flows into the interior from all ventilation openings below/middle/above. If anyone has a tip what that might be. Thanks for the help, in advance.

special questions about VW Phaeton
This was an extensive novel at first, but maybe someone reads it through and can possibly answer one or the other question. Wouldn’t it be too bad if a BMW 5/7, an S-Class or an A6/A8 were to come to the focus after all.

A new one from Bavaria
As a Jaguar fan in search of a well-preserved S Type R I have now landed at the Phaeton. There I sit with my Speci together – an equally car-crazy like me – and talk about my upcoming wish-purchase. Somehow we came to the topic Phaeton and did not let go of it. So I made a few days here in the forum and became more and more interested in this vehicle. By the way, thank you at this point for all the background knowledge that was collected here. Besides my search for the Jaguar then suddenly stood the Phaeton in the search list at Mobile – as that only slipped in there – funny : ) After several review appointments in VW car houses of course with the checklist available here I got to the present in Mainburg fun. A TDI Premium equipment – Braun Mocca – Anthrazit with sun-beige interior BJ 2014 with 83000 km check booklet to buy me again. One of them was a car house at the Reibbeton was not driven to the Reibbeholt 8000.

Oil and calmness
Hello forum, as from the user @A346 in the thread “Mayday-Mayday, super lead-free instead of diesel fueled?? Well note now a new thread which fits more to the topic. In the old thread I mentioned that I am not satisfied with the running quietness of the V6-TDI at all. Some users had expressed the suspicion that because of the high mileage the engine bearings may have passed. Since my vehicle was recently in the workshop the workshop could get an overview. Conclusion: The bearings are not necessarily in mint condition, but need change they are also not at all. Perhaps the previous owner had already had something done. No idea… I have experimented with an oil additive in the last few weeks and can already record a small success (Xado Test) The additive has developed after about 2000 km the full performance according to the manufacturer and can hardly feel any idleness in the course of an oil change again. This oil change is now and I wonder if I can reach something with a special oil? So the background is still the outside temperature.
