  • Sound quality Dynaudio in the Phaeton GP2 from 2009

    Dear Phaeton driver, I bought a Phaeton 3.0 last year. I picked up the vehicle near Munich, because I found a used car with the Dynaudio system there. I like to listen to jazz and classical music, less pop. I had a Fiscon hands-free system installed with Bluetooth A2DP in the vehicle. The sound quality, no matter what source, is an absolute disaster. The middle far too loud, the bass not defined, the heights undifferentiated. I can only bear that very quietly, otherwise my ears hurt. And that’s what I mean as I write it. Before I had a BMW 5 GT with the Harman Kardon system, which was not perfect but light years better than the Dynaudio in Phaeton. Since the Dynaudio was and will be so much praised, I would like to turn to an expert who can help me find the problem. The problem is now that the typical VW operations of sound in the car understand very little. How would you do, maybe someone have a contact for me?

  • Oil test, oil check?

    My name is Tüte, Tüte on Tour. No, I don’t have a Phaeton. I don’t even own my own car. And that’s almost twenty years ago. However, I’m interested in the topic of car and especially the thickness of VW. After many readings here in the individual Fred ́s, I noticed that there is nowhere written about an oil test here. Is there any knowledge in the Phaetonist family? Has anyone ever had his oil tested here from engine, gear or axle drives? Are there any reference values? The reason for my question is this. Oil is similar to the blood in man a very good mirror about the already expired processes in a machine. Therefore, only an oil test can determine very well what runs or has expired in a machine. If you have certain reference values now, you can see very well what condition a machine is in, if it has achieved a corresponding running performance in a machine. If, for example, a workshop like that of the Zottel can perform an oil test after xxx- km and know how to get rid of an oil from a used product.

    Hello, wanted to ask if someone knows what it looks like with the 1% leasing of the New Phaeton model.Is that what Volkswagen is doing again or has the new model no longer needed this action?Because I didn’t necessarily see many of the new ones driving around now except from the car dealership.   • Washer/Retainer Water loss

    Yesterday evening, display for windscreen washing system displayed. After operation nothing at all. Frost protection natürlich inside. I filled about two liters after, then the stub was already full. But no function. Today after a ride and warm condition came the message water level washing system…… When I operated the washing function several times with switched on light came very briefly what from the nozzle on the right headlight, then nothing more and then I saw like the blue wet rechrs under the apron ze drained, I think the whole content. I suspect that either the container is frozen or rather a hose leaks or has been pulled off by the pressure. Does anyone have experience with this ??? Does the container sit in the fender, so that you only have to dismantle the inner fender ? Is the container not heated ? Or just the nozzles ? Execution with a premium vehicle ? Design lock and technique from the golf ???

  • The Phaeton is on strike…

    Hello, nothing went on this morning, ZV didn’t react anymore, I could only unlock it by hand. The engine didn’t jump on, the complete displays were dead It didn’t even work out, I couldn’t even pull the key anymore. So the ADAC called, which came already after half an hour, although the friendly lady on the phone assured me that no one could come to me about 3 hours ago. Diagnosis of the yellow angel: Probably the alternator. They want to charge the battery 24h and then check the alternator. Now my two questions to you: 1. Does someone have experience with VW Sessner in the Randersackerer Str. in WÜ? Can they handle a Phaeton well? 2. Does the V6 BJ 2003 have to get out of the engine to change the alternator? 3. What will all the fun be for me, just out of pure interest? Thanks already for your answers! Tobias

  • Accident experience with the Phaeton

    Which one of you had an accident with a Phaeton before? What was your impression of how the vehicle got along with the acute crash, what did you notice about it. Today a Renault was crossed into our column against the direction without any obvious reason (allegedly black out). Because of the large distance to the Vodermann I was able to start a full braking – nevertheless crash at about 10-15 kmh. My wife and I felt nothing, the Twingo made a set of about 50 cm, the right Ra daufaufhängung, fenders and door are safely in the bucket. Since the poor wailing then still frontal on a sideward standing car, his airbags triggered. The train was no longer able to move. My Phaeton has lost the number plate, the fog lamp and the lamp spray system are defective. Larger deformations are not recognizable, the rest of the sad end I will probably find out tomorrow from my dealer.

    Hello together In considering the fact that the Phaeton in Wolfsburg or Germany is very poorly supported, I thought that we as Phaeton owner (1st hand 2nd hand – however) should gather our experiences (consciously only the bad ones) and let them flow through direct Känale in the headroom of WB. I know from experience that such writings will have the desired effect if you get to the right person. I know here in the Switzerland a few AMAG business decision-makers (AMAG-Importeur VW-Group) which would certainly help me. In this forum there seems to be also people who should have direct wires to WB. With a small note, the information can be forwarded to the trade press, feedback is then guaranteed. Above all, I think here of such things as the Navi-CD, brakes, winter tyres and all other defects. Not to forget the complete incompetence of WB in the actual n Support of the premium buyers. I am very happy to take over the lead here as long as you would post your experiences again to some extent ready for printing.   • Comparison V6/V8 ?

    Hello dear Phaeton municipality, after long 8cylinder years (mainly A8) 2 years ago for the purpose of reducing stress and “compulsion” got me a Phaeton V6 (when it still really cost something ). Now again a bit boredom about the driving dynamics comes up and I think about changing, because the contract also slowly becomes due. I already had the 10 cylinder (good but diesel) and the W12 (knacky but greedy) also. Who of you had the comparison V6/V8 and is it worth the change in terms of driving performance?   • Are there any political Phaethon accountants ?

    Is there any political Phaeton customer manager ? Finally we know. Lt. SPIEGEL were the persons quadrilateral (mayor WOB) Mrs. Flach (FDP) and some other politicians (SPD) on the payroll of VW. Event. were the responsible for the care of Phaeton customers. No wonder at the stress these people have why the Phaeton drivers were so inadequately looked after. Supposedly, it is not yet clear what they did for the many coals at VW (according to Spiegel). Abandoned our concerns and problems with the Phaeton. I will never claim VW does not take care of the upper class (at least with the politicians)

  • The Phaeton error

    I think the biggest mistake the Volkswagen made is the huge VW coat of arms on the tailgate! For most it is still an image question. Toyota calls the LS 400, GS etc also not Toyota ! but LEXUS. VW simply must not stand on such an exclusive production on it. The Währe as if on a Rolex “ALDI Watch” would stand on it! And VW has the right to the name like “HORCH”, why not use this ! or bentley. Here you have the best example like a masterpiece of the automobile world . because of the false name became a flop
