  • Summer tyre recommendation

    Hello everyone, as soon as the tyre change time is again, I wanted to listen to your summer tyre recommendation. Problem with my Phaeton is the only approved tyre dimension with 255/45 R18 103 Y with a V6 TDI. There are not so many tires… So if someone has experiences with tires in the same size and load I would be happy to read them here.   • VW Phaeton does not sporadically start (starter spins)

    Hello everyone, I have a very annoying problem with my thick! It’s a VW Phaeton 3D year 06/2005 with the 3.0 TDI engine and automatic transmission. The problem is as follows, sporadically it doesn’t jump on. If the error is there there are no error messages or similar the starter turns off quite normally for about 2-3 seconds but then turns off on its own, even if I hold keys in starting position. I can’t reproduce the error myself, sometimes it’s not at all a few days. It was also for example already when I drove 30km then briefly refuel and see it doesn’t jump on. Sometimes it goes after the 10 times try sometimes but also after 1-2 hours again. I already tried it with both keys and a new power supply battery installed unfortunately without success. Can it be if the engine rotates normally at the roadblock lie? Has someone already had such a case? I hope you can help me with every help position.

    Hello together, my first post in the Phaeton Forum….. So, I’m playing with the thought of my current 5 BMW into a Phaton (with a low payment). It’s thought of a 3.0 tdi with just over or under 100,000 km. Yesterday I looked at the Phaeton at the VW dealership and I’m… I didn’t expect the car to be so beautiful. Great, noble, luxurious and PERFECT. The dealer would also buy my 5er… Now I don’t know; the new price of the Phaetond (is a 2005 model) was 75,000 EURO. Now the good piece only costs a little more than 20,000 EURO?!? How can the with the great car such a high value loss arise within 5 years of 55,000 EURO? Is the Phaeton after my possible purchase then sellable again, or no one intersted for it anymore. Again: I can’t understand how such a beautiful car (at least from inside) can have such an enormous value loss… What should I have for you next Friday?

    Hello, I had a warning or warning symbol on my dashboard display this weekend. Since I did not find this symbol in my manual and I (and my wife) could not interpret the sign, I would like to contact the forum. A round, grey sign with a green dot and three vertical “spirals”. What should I fill up or observe? The symbol has disappeared again. The picture should only indicate the place and the approximate appearance. The vertical strokes are (heating) spiral-shaped.   • Brake path on snow – influence factor vehicle weight

    Hello everyone, recently we had the discussion whether the vehicle weight plays a role in dry road. It was said that this is not the case if you are travelling with maximum possible braking force and sufficiently dimensioned brakes. But how is that on snow? On snow I do not get a maximum braking force. For me as a layman the picture shows that a much higher mass and thus also fly mass must be braked at high vehicle weight. Thus, a heavy vehicle on snow would have a significantly longer braking distance. Can anyone confirm this by the experts or refute it or examine it more physically? Gruss capdoc

Since parts of the electrical system are still jammed, i can not let it pump up again with VCDS without greater effort. I have tried, at the moment VCDS does not recognize any control unit. This worked before the repair. Who can give me tips? Can I use a direct control of the compressor, which causes high pumping, or is there the control unit against it, even if the whole electrical system is jammed at the moment.     Hello Good morning dear Phaeton Forum, I have a little time today before I have to go to the late shift, and thought about making a few settings on my Phaeton. As described in the title, I wanted to assign my radio key to a memory key. Have driver seat, steering wheel and mirror set and set the setup to Memory key 1. After that, however, as described in the picture, tries to assign the key without success? I see the correct key recognized in the infotainment, but nothing changes in the vehicle settings when I unlock as described and open the door?
