  • Phaeton V10 TDI vs. A8 4.2 TDI

    Hello together, I hope you don’t resent my double posting, just I’m looking for a comparison between the two cars above, and so I ask in both sub forums. As the title can already be guessed, my question revolves around the differences as well as advantages/disadvantages between Audi A8 4.2 TDI and a Phaeton V10 TDI. Both models are currently under discussion for me, both as an annual car or similar, mileage max. 30,000km. what A has you should also get in B. What interests me is the durability of both models, where there are weak points, which I should not leave out of my sight with a used one, and what might result in pros or cons for one of the two? When searching in the forums I found satisfied users for both models, so at the moment I can only fix the difference to one factor, and that is the EK. The Phaeton already exists with my introduction for around 45,000€, while the A8 moves more in the range +70,000€ with similar equipment. Are these differences purely image bound, or are there really hard facts in the technology or the susceptibility, which speak for it? I am happy about all tips and hints! Greetings, mars inhabitants

  • Braking systems Phaeton

    Since the control lights for the brake linings lit up for my vehicle, I have for the first time become aware of the braking system. Interested as I am, I try to find out what kind of brake linings is installed. There seem to be two different systems for which different linings are required accordingly. In my (V6 177kw front drive) is allegedly a “Lukas” system installed where on each side of the front axle 4 individual coverings are needed . If someone has any information (part number) about this. With the VW dealer a wrong article has appeared based on the key number of my car, in which on each side only 2 larger coverings are installed.     Hello Phaetonists! Now it’s finally time! After I have been trying since yesterday to type a Fred with my mobile phone because of a small problem, here finally officially the happy customer (tipped on a proper keyboard on a proper PC): HE IS DA! And I think it’s a boy! On Friday afternoon I finally got my Phaeton in reception. It’s a long version, 4 seats with 4.2 V8. Outside it is covered in Tarantella black. , inside fullheath in sun beige with expanded wood in chestnut. The good piece is (but really!) fully equipped, even snaps like a self-lit license plate or a leathered hat rack is on board Perfect for the game drive! So far I am fully satisfied, except for a few smaller zigzags (see separate Freds, I still need help!!!) there is nothing to complain about. Rather on the absolute opposite! Total of the socks ripped me off the engine! I would never have thought about that (and never felt that way on a poppy test drive). And the total ripper is the consumption! On the trip from Thuringia to Munich he was in spite of a healthy 104 speed cut with extremely moderate 11.2 liters, and the last 850km since the pick-up, he had to cycle with an average of only 12.2 liters per 100 km. Even if I usually hate to talk about the consumption of such cars, but I have to mention this with praise. n! Especially since I have hunted him in places quite nicely… So after 2 days and almost 1000km I draw an interim conclusion, with which we all agree: the thing convinces on the whole line!!!!
