“When I press on the horn people have to think ‘The world goes under’ ” Quote Homer J. Simpson, automotive engineer After I am constantly taken the lead, or I fear in other dangerous situations around my life and can only make me feel quite quietly with the original electric horn I want to make something loud now. According to § 55 (2) StVZO my horn is allowed to “emittieren” at 7 meters distance 105 dB(A). I want to use that now fully. Now we have an air pressure tank in the rear, it would be the easiest thing if I put a magnetic valve on it as soon as the horn button is pressed. So I only pump the horn and the valve. If it’s too loud still a pressure reducer. Does anyone already have something in the direction? Does the air travel unit suck when you turn some compressed air out of the tank in the stern? Or does the compressor just pump again brav after that? There are 8 bar on it, not true? (I at least have read it) I know what I need to lower it more often after the humpe is silently after I have to say something

Outer mirrors opaque
At the turn of the year I drove 2×600 kilometers in this muddy weather. The track safety, the air conditioning, the minimum consumption despite full load and the use of the highest possible speed (8.9 liters, V6 TDI), the calm in the vehicle – the Phaeton is simply fantastic. What has disturbed me very much with snow, ice and salt scattering today is the considerable pollution of the left outside mirror and the front window triangle of the side window. An overtaking maneuver can no longer be planned safely after 50 kilometers. That’s not premium. That comes to the wish list. The quick cleaning with the speed handkerchief or something like that does not work: it only smears everything. It only goes with snow or water. Everything has to be dried thoroughly, otherwise new drops from the “Retro des Spiege-Off” fly to the area. That must be aerodynamic to be changed! – I thought to myself. The search on the Internet results a frrusting picture: The topic attracts since 2003 with the 5er BMW, Audi, Tiguan and another 10 of the stubble started the good time.

No feedback from the auxiliary heating remote control
Hello together, I hope again (at least for myself) new phenomenon discovered: Since March 2009 I drive a V8 (year of construction 2004, model year 2005) among other things with stationary heating. After the temperatures were already too pleasant in the spring, I come only now into the embarrassment to take the stationary heating by means of remote control into operation. And there is also the problem: The remote control works in principle, i.e. I can set the stationary heating in motion and also switch off again, BUT the optical feedbacks of the remote control (see below) described in the logbook on pages 3.1.2. 24 u. 25 remain out. Specifically, when pressing the ON button the LED briefly green, when pressing the OFF button briefly red, whether I stand near the car or at the other end of the city. More does not work there, the batteries in the hand transmitter I have already replaced the nice two times, but unfortunately without changing the described behavior… 🙁 According to the manual the feedbacks should look like this: Display => Meaning Light green = Heating was not switched on the stand # Did not receive the signal?

Phaeton and Iphone: can’t??!!
Hello, dear Phaeton fans, now I wanted to pick up my 3rd new fat on May 1st and had to find out that my iphone is not compatible with the Phaeton. Who once had an iphone, it will usually never want to leave again, because I have never had a better phone before (and I don’t follow the fashion). This could be an out-criterium for Phaeton. Why you can’t offer this possibility anymore is incomprehensible to me. With my 2nd fat it was easy, the connection Phaeton-Iphone. Is there a solution – or do I have to leave my iphone now? (I don’t want a new speaker of a freephone system for the iphone). DOES IT HAVE A SOLUTION??? Oh yes – what do people who want to pick up their car (with appointment), but they can’t take it with them? and what else: I saw the new model in the production. Really great. I find it super.

Seat burning
It smelled hard in the car, somehow after chemistry or burnt Pertinax … 200 km/h shows the Tacho on the way from Fulda to Cologne last Saturday night, I drive to a parking lot, but can find nothing in the engine room and at the tires, it does not come from outside. My wife and I continue, sometimes only 80 times over 200 km/h, somehow the smell is a little speed dependent, I drive down from the highway and stand at the edge of the road and tear up all the doors and windows, crawl the small LED flashlight out of the glove compartment and light through the car … my wife yells at me: “My seat burns !!!!!!!!!!” it squirts in the bright light of the flashlight well visible from the back cushion of the passenger seat … 4 years old car, so much to the planned obsolescence The search for the grip for the safety box had to stop again.

All-year tires…
Hello friends, the topic of “Phaeton full-year tires” has already been hit once, but ultimately does not give an exhaustive picture of it… How is the position of the “old Kempen” here, who do not drive their “thickness” as a first vehicle, but rather as a “self-reward”, after a strenuous, successful (?) day relaxation and a free head “experience” as soon as they throw themselves into the “dickship” … From my present point of view, a direct bike change summer/winter is in no real relation to a very low use of the car, so I play with the idea, as with my EOS, to have all-year tires also drawn to the Phaeton (as soon as I have decided for one). This should then also be a topic in the purchase negotiations… Of course, the best factories, nothing else (Vredestein, Michelin, Bridgestone) I will be “unsecured” now, after reading here and there that the characteristic of the Phaeton would be rather unsuitable for a full-year tire life, but I will not be happy with a weight and I will be able to ride!!!

Telephone recommendation for Phaeton 11/2007
Good evening together, now that I know that I can’t use my Samsung phone in Phaeton I would like to ask you which current mobile phone works. I would very much like to be able to access the phone contacts. So not the contacts on the SIM card. I would very much like to continue to use the other functions of the mobile phone (mail and calendar). So the phone should not be locked. Thank you very much for your answers.

Phaeton or Alltrac, or something else?
Hello, I’m new here. I’ve driven VW Passat so far. Since 2005 I’ve used up 3 pieces. Drive in the year 80-110 Tsd kilometers, as a self-employed person. I’m very satisfied with Passat. But now I need more trailer load, 2300 upwards. What would you take? Passat Alltrac? or Phaeton? or other factory? 100 000 a year, 15-20 000 with trailer. My requirement: economical, comfortable reliable.

Steering wheel heating at mild temperatures
Hello, I am a freshly baked owner of a Phaeton GP1 EZ 01/08. According to the purchase contract he has steering wheel heating. According to the manual, the steering wheel heating is activated via the button on the right side of the steering wheel. However, this does not take place, even if the seat heating is switched on. At Google I saw the MFD symbol for the steering wheel heating, this is also not shown (I would not have had a place in the MFD if the dead angle warning device, driving warning device and ACC were switched on). Today I was therefore with the VW dealer. This meant that the steering wheel heating is coupled to the outside temperature and can not be activated before reaching a certain limit value. He didn’t know the limit value “5 or 10 degrees”. Here in the forum, however, I read in a thread that the steering wheel heating is not temperature-dependent and also during the summer the steering wheel noticeably heats up. What statement is right now? Is this possibly also depending on the model, so that the statement “not temperature-dependent” is perhaps referring to the GP?
