  • 1% dealer experience

Good day from Northern Germany! As (hopefully) future new Phaeton driver and still Touareg7L driver I have a question for possible users of the 1% leasing: can you tell me your experiences with the big dealer from Bergkamen? I ordered a Phaeton from the VW used car pool there and have been waiting for the vehicle for 5 weeks now. First I was promised “beginning of March”, then send the papers to me in KW10 and car in KW11 (this week). Nothing happens however and the accessibility of the dealer leaves much to be desired. Mails are reacted extremely late and finally asked briefly and almost again for “some patience”. One gets the impression, leasing agreement signed and then is also good. Until I decided for this dealer, the accessibility and friendliness was hardly to be surpassed. Since the signing a disaster. What have you experienced? Ahoi!

  • Tire downgrading and steering comfort

Good evening dear Phaeton colleagues, for a few weeks I have had a V6 TDI from 2007, with Pirelli 255ers and about 6mm profile on 19 inch Omayt rims. After a few weeks of acclimatization I noticed a minimal but noticeable restlessness in the steering. He follows track grooves, “switches” in unevenness such as Gulli lids and generally in bad roadway etc. However, with a flat track and good surface the steering is quiet and the driving feeling as it should be, so precise and gliding. The steering has not and also no poltern oä., which would mean on failed joints. Now I have for three days new Nokian winter tires 235 /55 R 17V on 8.5 x 17 Ronal rims drawn. The wheel grooves and the offset have completely disappeared, even on rather bad roadways. The steering is easy, precise and the driving feeling overall subjectively far more comfortable than with the 19 customs. I know this track groove effect of various Porsche and Mercedes SL models, however, is only to look at the high precision wheels of course not something like the same as regards to the wheel length.

  • Maintenance of the A6

I’m just looking for a new (used) up to max. 25k. I originally wanted to buy an almost fully equipped A6 (Quattro, TipTronic, air suspension, Keyless, ACC, standing heater, etc.) Facelift from Bj 09 with 3.0 TFSI or 4.2FSI engine (much short distance, max. 12,000 Km a year). But the selection of such moves in the promille area (seemed throughout Germany). Then I happened to end up at Phaeton (from GP2). This one has already included most of the A6 as standard equipment and the selection is huge. Are probably real shopkeepers the parts. Yesterday I would have spent the whole night researching whether the one in the maintenance is really so much more expensive. Inspection costs were to my aston were hardly more expensive than with the Tiguan (300-800 EUR). Wear and repairs have occurred with each car, but then I would be so much cheaper with the A6, if this is almost the same equipment?

  • New map material for GP0 Bj 2006

Dear Phaetonisti, having recently relied on iPhone navigation in Croatia, I’m thinking about buying new CD cards for my car and tripping into the bay about the following offer:http://www.ebay.de/…/190586558552 for 129,00 Euronen Apparently, the maps of TomTom use what doesn’t have to be a disadvantage, right? Has anyone already had experiences? I’m interested in particular: -Are the streets actually more current than my CDs from 2004-5 and are ? – Does the cross-border route calculation in Eastern Europe finally work a little better if the CD has to be changed? -What happens with the help files for the operation of the Phaeton Info-tainment, which are on the original VW NaviCDs? -Did the TMC integration succeed? -Is the POI entries (in particular to parking garages, hotels and restaurants) something? -What alternatives might be better? Thank you for your experiences Moseltaler

  • Engine oil level message

Hello everyone, have recently had a funny problem with my Phaeton V10Tdi Bj 08/2003. The good has so far covered about 190TKm, without major problems. To the apron, before description of the problem, – the oil level is in the cold condition in the normal range, slightly below MAX. – the last service was at 177TKM at the VW friendly – engine running quiet, has full power Since recently, I have the following problem. If I drive longer distances from 100 / 120 KM, I get the message ( Engine oil was too low). I thought at the beginning it would be the oil level sensor, but the problem is this: If the message comes and I control the oil level, the measuring rod is completely dry, as if there was no drop oil in the engine. Even if I wait 1 or 2 min no oil is visible on the measuring rod. But if I open the oil influence lid at the top of the engine, then the oil is there again. Named on the measuring rod the oil level is visible again and the message “Motor oil was too low ” extinguishes. The game starts again after approx. 120 / 130 kilometers driven. The oil filter was replaced as a precaution, but also without success. The funny thing was that when the filter changed, the tank of the oil filter was almost 3/4 full with oil. My workshop is a bit perplexed, because you never had such a problem and there is no “normal” explanation for it. At the beginning it was said of the friendly that it is the oil pump, but the pump works otherwise the oil would not get to “up”. A In addition, the message “motor oil pressure” should appear. I may have typed on crankcase ventilation, false air, but I was told that this would probably be noticeable with an unround motor run or power loss, which is not the case here. I was told by an open workshop that the measuring rod and the oil level sensor are in a “separated” area in the oil tank with a filter sitting in front, which is possibly clogged or dirty and the return run i n negatively influenced this area, can that be so ? Does someone have an idea what it could be or what one could possibly look or try out ? Would be grateful for any tip Fotis

  • Waterguard for Kessy in the footroom

Again and again in the forum you come across the diagnosis: “the classic, water in the footroom, Kessy drunk off”. This is all the worse because you don’t notice it for a long time. Only when moisture has enough time to act, there is corrosion and the problem comes to light but then really massive and expensive. In the appendix three methods with which you can determine whether the “bath season” was opened. This is not a protection against water intrusion, but a reliable warning so that you dry immediately and K orrosion in the Kessy can not arise at all. I ask the professionals for indulgence for the detailed description, but lay people are grateful for an instruction at which each step is explained exactly. LG Günther

  • Presentation of the new one with a GP3 from 2011

Hello together, now it’s also about me. In the purchase consultation received top feedback and in the search also the one or other bad experience collected, it has now become a 2011 GP3 with just under 80tkm. The car is still top there. Only the ventilation hood on the passenger side spontaneously decide from day to day whether it wants to open or close … or even not. Since the car is still in the warranty + guarantee, therefore the friendli The car has received (fooled) a privacy glazing from one of the previous owners. It’s done quite well, but it’s already very dark. It’s always night in the rear-view mirror. The automatically blinding rear-view mirror is virtually without function On picture 2 you can see the difference between front and rear side pane well. In the next time he will probably have to stand under the lantern in the streets of Munich until the residence in a few months then back again Thank you for the support and valuable tips, Chris.

  • V8 with LPG goes from approx. 3000U/min into the emergency run, EPC and ESP lights

Hello, I have a problem with my VW Phaeton (V8 petrol/LPG). Recently I replaced the air mass meters due to an error and then had almost 150km no more problems. Now I have the problem that lights up at about 3000U/min the EPC and ESP lights up and the engine is then in the emergency run. If you evaluate the codes we display the code P0171 (Sytem to Lean Bank 1/2) as well as the code P0121 ( Throttle/ Pedal Position Sensor /Swicht A Circuit Range / Performance). If the scales are driven in the speed range below 3000 rpm, no errors occur. I checked the scales for an leak in the air system and replaced a hose. The pedal was also replaced which led to the scales driving almost 60km error-free until the errors reappeared. Many thanks in advance [From motor talk from the topic ‘EPC light + ESP light goes on at 3000 rpm’.]
