After 8 months the first service is on. The Phaeton was taken over with 51.xxx km. Now he has 65.xxx km on the clock. About the (somewhat annoying) change from Long-Life to the fixed interval I had already written something. Regardless of this it will be his third service. Let’s see how it goes… The service ad came a bit late… But now it is there. Service in 71 days or 900km. Since the statements here in the forum and also at various dealers during my search are from Other things went, which includes “service”, I called at VW. The statement there: “The Phaeton can be serviced in any VW workshop or certified workshop. There is no replacement car during this time. Hol- and Bring-Service lies with the workshop.” So do not pick up anything with replacement phaseton or even Phaeton and bring it back. OK. Service in every 08/15 VW workshop (or see above) is now new. In order not to get any trouble with VW-Leasing, however, I prefer to take the VW-W For safety reasons I chose a VW workshop, which also waits or sells Phaetons (to stand or advertise on the yard). After a somewhat difficult “recording” (computer) came the question about the date and procedure. After consultation with another employee comes the statement: “Replacement vehicle costs extra. Hol- and Bringe-Service is free.” Replacement vehicle would not be Phaeton. Since the workshop is 30km away, I chose the service. Phaeton is fetched at 8 o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock o’clock nd returned at 5 p.m. Good that I still have a vacation in the new year. Alternatively to jet through the republic with a polo would be a bit stupid… I would stay tense. With my Skoda there was a replacement car for the service in addition to the hol and bring service. Replacement car (Octavia) was brought and Yeti was picked up. In the afternoon the same game only the other way around. No extra costs. Costs for the service were in the forum comparison rather in the lower area. Vehicle was also inside and outside next week I know more. LG Mi-go

Sudden high oil consumption in the V6 TDI?
Hello in the round, on 15.08. a service with oil change was made with my Diva. After I had picked up the car there, I checked at home whether the oil level is ok and it was probably also. Now I have the car because of another thing in the same workshop and this called me yesterday to tell me that about 3/4 liters of oil would be missing and whether they should fill this up. I was quite surprised and told them that they could do that, but not at my expense because the car was there for inspection a few days ago. They agreed with that. What I am surprised, however, is where the oil went? I did not drive 1000 km with the car in the meantime. Furthermore, it has never used oil before (it is regularly checked). Oil changes are always made every year. He has not excruciated or sunken unusually the last days (at least I or anyone else noticed) Can it vo n now come to immediately increased oil consumption and if so, what is the cause of it? Or am I worried for nothing? MfG MXPhaeton

Tiptronic paddles retrofitting steering wheel
Why do you come up with the idea of retrofitting the shifters???? Well, I have a V8 and am also very satisfied with the vehicle. I only find the automatic tuning on the motorway to be disturbing if I give a little more gas when I overtake and then is switched down to the 4th gear. Now I have found that by moving the lever into the Tiptronicgasse my problem is solved as much as possible and I can also switch up earlier in urban traffic (d What does the Phaeton driver do??? He goes to the workshop and presents his wish to simply spend money on a problem solution! But today there are still facilities that simply don’t want to make money: the VW workshop!!!! You have to ask the factory first, get the release (!!) and what all the control units (!??!!) have to be changed!!! Summary: So, don’t do anything!! But, thanks to Paneuropean (Michael), who has this P. Roblem had solved the hard way (a very readable great thread!! Retrofitting Paddle Shifters to a Phaeton in the VWvortex forums). Now I decided to upgrade my vehicle as well and clarify the questions that still existed after reading Michael’s guide. Is there interest in a guide with pictures? Estimated conversion time about 40 minutes. Greetings

Anybody drive the V8 yet?
Hello! I would like to lease a Phaeton soon. Now I was able to drive all motorizations up to the V8. The (pers.) impressions so far: V6 – for this vehicle too weak. V10 TDI – too loud, driving also only 17 tkm p.a. W12 – power without end, however disturbing howling noise with light gas. Extremely high consumption. In comparable equipment approx. 16 TEUR more expensive than V8. The V8, which my dealer had organized, was just before the test drive with open windows and S chiebedach sent through the washing machine… So can anyone tell me about your experiences with the V8? Realistic consumption and acceleration values? Noise level? Thanks and Gruss Torben

Cell phone holder brand own building
Hello municipality, I just got on it and made a magnet holder for the smartphone with local on-board equipment. I have not found a satisfactory alternative solution so far. I don’t want to drill anything in any way or clamp anything between what might leave behind after years of printing. Required material: – magnetic holder from the bay for 5€ – angle iron – countersunk screw (in my case a safety screw of a brake disc + nut M6 – 2 underlay disc en – Shrink tubing (can also be painted black, not visible area) – a new storage tray, also from the bay (15,90€ instead of just under 60€ at the friendly one) I think it looks semi elegant. I hope now that driving dynamic influences do not make sure that the shell jumps out. Can I unfortunately not test until tomorrow, then my new fatter will be approved. In any case it is residue-free retrofittable 🙂 I will report what the test drive has revealed tomorrow, then mac h i also still pictures with flanged mobile phone 😉

Starter broken – complete engine removal?
I drive a 2005 3.0 TDI and unfortunately now the starter seems to be defective. The friendly one claims to replace this part (costs for the part €290,- net allegedly) you have to expand the entire engine block in a 12 hour operation – and then of course install it again. Does any of you know if that’s true? Does this really have to be so expensive? The total cost would amount to a round €2,500,-, which I find pretty crazily… I’m for Thank you for any hint.

Oil change
Hello, next week my fat guy arrives in the rental workshop on the lift. An oil change is on. I want to do it myself, as with my previous vehicles. I already got the oil, the oil filter and a new sealing ring for the oil drain screw. Before I start – a few more questions: When lifting on the lift – do not forget the lifting mode for the air suspension. Where are the exact lifting points? In the VWVORTEX there is a nice guide, but sorry the W12 seems to be a little different at the lifting points than the V6 TDI. I would not like to clamp the air ducts of the chassis. Remove undersea protection under the engine – is the cracked, screwed or plugged? Is there a service flap in the undersea protection? How do I get the undersea protection? (I first spent half an hour with my Mercedes. Should have informed me better at that time.) Mercedes, which like the P. has a changeable filter insert, you had to be careful not to forget a small seal at the lower end and properly attach it. Is there such an important little thing at the Phaeton too?) Otherwise the same program as always: Drain screw on – drain out – close again with a new sealing ring – new oil filter – new oil – Finished. Forget something else, or consider? Thank you
