After a week of service life, the start attempt only resulted in a short organ, then the starter didn’t turn any more. Batteries are full and good; car was parked after 600 km distance. Emergency start also did not cause any turning of the starter. Batteries disconnected (2 h) did not bring any change. Volt display does not move away from 13 V. VCDS-excerpt see appendix. The communication errors described there are all new. Errors delete did not cause any change. The short circuit in the relay for power supply. Where does this sit? Helpäää…

Specific procedure for adjusting the consumption indicator with VCDS
Hello, my Phaeton fantasizes in the on-board computer dream consumption – not only in winter (no consideration of heaters and heaters), but also now in summer. Regularly the consumption would have to be indicated between 12% and 15% higher, and that bothers me – I want to have at least half-accuracy as with all my previous cars here. Example last refuelling: 533 miles driven with 53.7 liters (same pump as with the previous beta) This is why I would like to have the ad adjusted up by 15%. Of course, I had already looked at the forum here, and there are some people who were just like me – and it always says in the posts: “Yes, that’s possible by VCDS.” My problem is that the workshop somehow couldn’t do that – it said that I could not do that. Not yet. Since I can’t imagine that some people can do it and some people can’t do it, here’s my question to those who know it:What has to be done specifically with VCDS settings to adjust consumption? Would be very grateful for your hints!

Ornamental mouldings “unbelievable/attached” to Waschstrasse ..
Hello everybody, I have been regularly at a modern car wash park for 4 years, the last time 3 weeks ago – no abnormalities. Phaetonne has been under Carport since then. Today again: program bronze with nano – and see there: all lower trims on the 4 doors and also trims windows above have turned, as if there had been a “chemical” reaction – (see pictures) – Corona for Phaetonne – it was the individual case today. Chrome grill front and other parts “unchanged”, like also after the laundry in the last years. Has one already had something similar ? Is there an antidote ? (except replacement when ordering) ->Washing street owner tried it with NEVR-DULL WADDING POLISH – did not go away ->I thought the surface protection of the bar would be gone (not yet 3 weeks ago) Ride Monday to the professional conditioner and VW – let’s see what they say What do you mean ? – hope pictures are meaningful – btw: what do the decorative mouldings cost roughly? Thermo Top C stand-alone heating
Hello, I bought an old Phaeton with which unfortunately the board of the auxiliary heating is defective. I tested the individual components of the auxiliary heating system successfully with a laboratory power supply. The part number of the old board is 901389A on the Internet I unfortunately did not find a board with identical part number afterwards I picked out a board for the auxiliary heating Thermo Top C (which is installed with me) contacted the seller and shielded him the situation This made sure that this circuit board was also suitable for this purpose. When the circuit board arrived, however, I connected it electrically to the vehicle and wanted to test the individual components by means of actuator diagnostics. The connection was immediately recognized, the test of the combustion air blower incandescent pin etc. was successful except for the control of the circulating pump of the stationary heater V55. Also at the slot of the pump there is no voltage and as said on the laboratory power supply the pump works For this reason I contacted the seller again and he told me that the circuit board is a circuit board for an additional heating not a stationary heating and therefore the pump is not controlled. However, he does not accept a withdrawal of the circuit board. Now the question can be reprogrammed the circuit board and practically care for the control of the pump V55, or I have to buy a new circuit board … If so how do you do it. Attached are a few pictures of the circuit board. Thank you for your help! Mfg Niklas

The Phaeton got hit – hail damage
Dear Pheatonists, actually you can only see or read this in the media. Hail damage to cars. Live I could experience this (unfortunately) on weekends – and do nothing about it: A strong hail shower destroyed the aerodynamics at our Phaeton within two minutes in front of your own front door. Jumping out and bringing the thickness to safety seemed life-threatening with the dense “stone rain” (my olive green steel helmet from then I should not have given up – I knew it) Luckily it wasn’t quite tennis ball-sized hail grains (slices are undamaged) but it was enough. Delle on the Phaeton surface where you can see. The damage is already reported to the insurance company and an expert will look at the horror at a future date. Has someone had similar experiences and how to proceed now (repair or decrease in value)? I just bulge the Phaeton casually at the Uncle Doctor’s place at what a If this is easier than I thought, I would know the “family favorite” with the friendly in better hands with regard to disassembly than with the student doctor. Rust during leasing, problems with return?
Hello, have my Phaeton for 1 year in 1%-leasing (BJ: 1/13). Now I noticed several rust spots on the doors, partly relatively spacious. But since I have heard of many, in which the removal has done more damage than it did well (incl. totally scratched interior). Therefore I would leave the rust simply. Now my question: Do I get a problem with the delivery of the car? Can they say that I have to pay the rust removal because it during me Is there any use in the leasing period?

Open the trunk
Moin. And again the problem with the trunk. I have the problem that I had a cable break. It would be repaired now. Now comes the problem. The trunk lid was slammed and the wire harness was clamped on the left side and now the lid is closed and no longer opens. Not about the electronics and also not with keys. What do you do now? Workshop means flex up and new lid with wire harness closed and and and. Does anyone else have any advice?

Phaeton inspection costs and axle measurement 120 000 km
Hi together, short info scattered in case someone is looking for it. 120 000 inspection with a 4.2 liter petrol without timing belt change and without oil – Almost 650 Euro gross track measurement – Good 170 Euro invoices in the annex. Feels the prices as really fair, right?

Tank indicator / reserve / tank content
Hello NG, how exact is the indication of the tank contents ? according to the manual should fit in 90L if I drive according to the on-board computer until no repainting distance is timed — km. I get in when refueling max 85l. how empty can you drive the tank (without stopping) ? are at the display — km actually still 5 L in the tank ? (or possibly even more ) so you would come in case of emergency without panik (depending on the engine and driving mode ) again 30-40 km.

Old and New Spritspartips for the Phaeton driver
Hello everyone, in view of the rising petrol and diesel prices, I would like to open a fuel sparthread and post my fuel spar experiences from my own experience. I ask everyone to post their own tips and tricks as well. 1. Window+Dach basically keep closed when driving – savings approx: 0.3-0.5 liters/100 km because less air resistance 2. Forward looking drive and let the Phaeton roll out for a long time. Because the Phaeton rolls with its weight k Ilometer-wide… 3. When rolling out always leave on level D! Do not switch back and forth hectic between N and D. On level D and unrolling the Phaeton consumes 0.00 liters thanks to automatic shut-off, on level N on the other hand 1.5 liters. Seeing on board PC under current consumption savings: approx. 1.0 – 1.5 liters /100 KM 4. Cruise as often as it can turn on 5. Climate, especially in winter put on Econ 6. use as little as possible consumer (often, for example, behind is forgotten the Re-issue seat heating) Gruss capdoc
