My V6 GP0 is not driven much. With my typical long distance I drive about half an hour through the city until I then come to the highway and can drive for the first time 100. Then he starts to vibrate properly, that you hardly dare to continue driving. I then speed up to 120 and the vibrations slow down a little. In the next 5-10 minutes they disappear completely. I can then also drive 100 again and the car remains calm. It feels as if the vibrations fix the problem themselves, as if something would be centered around it. On the return journey 2 days later the problem does not occur. In the city it also drives quietly. I had already suspected the road, because it always happens in the same place. But sometimes it happens somewhere else.

Oil change – not draining, but suctioning
Good evening, I wanted to report here briefly about my oil change yesterday. I always let the oil change be done at McOil, because this is a simple and fast thing for me. Yesterday it was time again and I was at McOil in Dortmund. To my surprise I was told that the oil there (according to the “Masters” there) did not drain, but only suck off, because VW allegedly announced at the beginning of the week that the oil drain screws would tear off or . can no longer be screwed in. As a result, they only suck the oil there for VW as well as for Audi. Also at my express request, I was refused to let go and only offered the service (no additional costs) of suction. Did you hear about it? What do you think about it? Friendly greetings

Two questions about the personalized log and the trunk flap with Keyless Access
Hello, for a understandable reason (for this reason I will soon be more detailed) I am now in possession of a logbook, which has become currently my preferred reading reading. I already knew that it is personalized on the vehicle identification number, also on the individual equipment. But also on the first owner’s first name? In my new vehicle letter only the second holder is registered, the first one who took it over in Balingen in 2006 at the local VW dealer Zollernalb, is mi r not known by name, but in the schematic drawings the first name “Udo” appears several times in the schematic drawings, also the first key assignment is registered on “Udo”. The second key to my previous owner, who did not change the first name for reasons unknown to me. Was a name personalization usual or is this only randomly selected exemplary? Another question about the Keyless Access that my car does not have. How does it work with the trunk flap. r (only a few days old) rule I open this first, because I usually have something in my hand (case, bag, etc.) – a great thing. Does this also work automatically with the KA or do I always need the remote control for it? I know, no particularly illuminating questions, but I’m concerned about that right now, Greeting Manfred

Luggage compartment lid “manual” possible unlock?
Dear Phaeton fan community, although I have not been driving a Phaeton since 2014, but I miss “him” already very much… The 5er Touring is also awesome (have now 2 toddlers – that’s why…), but if you have driven the “Diva” once, unique… An acquaintance recently bought a used Phaeton from 2004, 4.2 l (8 cyl.) and has the following problem: His wife has her handbag in the trunk,. Rear flap closed and somehow the handle, in the lock or rear flaps Since then, the rear flap has been closed, with keys, pressing on the VW emblem, switch inside – nothing is happening anymore. There is a message in the display (somehow, trunk open) but the boot lid can no longer be opened. Question to the fan community: Is there a way to open the lid manually or is the only way out to pierce the lock to open the flap? What could be broken – someone knows a workshop that has the problem cost-effectively? Stig could fix, especially since the car is yes BJ 2004? Thank you in advance and all the time a good ride! VG Kevin

Ignition cannot be switched on VW Phaeton 3D 3.0 V6 TDI 4Motion lang BJ 2012 KM 198,000
I know that there are some threats about this topic here, but I have some questions. First the situation: car parked yesterday evening, no problems with the ride. This morning I wanted to go off, keys in the lock, but nothing goes so briefly Googled. the posts read through here, but found no real solution. In the display KM stand is displayed etc., as well open trunk, open door etc. facts: The door lock / unlock works with remote service from the key. I tried it with both keys. Batteries are both full, trunk is electrically opened, both batteries have over 12.2 V voltage. After some attempts came the message with the steering wheel lock / workshop. But that does not always come, however, the steering wheel cannot be unlocked. Sometimes the whole display remains dark, the next attempt it works as described above. I exposed the Kessy, all bone dry. In the Questions: How do I build the ignition lock (how do I get the lining around it?) Can you check the function of the ignition lock with simple measuring devices? If so, what value on which pins? Or do you think it is excluded that it is on the ignition lock? How can I check the ELV? In what order do I proceed to this? I thank you already in advance for your answers. Greetings Idefix

Loss of voltage during driving
The first time with the Phaeton on vacation and the Super-GAU immediately… I drive back after a problem-free holiday on Lake Garda and notice already after a short time that the voltage indicator varies dangerously. Air conditioning is switched off, consumer electronics also. Nice message in the infotainment display. Shortly afterwards directly before the splügenpass in the tunnel fails me the dipped light, all displays dark. After all: Analog ads continue to work, in a Phaeton you can still no At the top of the pass I look through all the fuses, measure the voltage of the comfort battery (12,8V), with twitching shoulders I turn on the ignition, everything seems to work, no error messages. I run the car in the stand gas, after at least 30min still everything is fine. Decide to continue driving and come another 200km to home but with several messages from consumer shutdowns. Strangely, vary the battery display sometimes as with a mass problem, then it rises again to the usual 14V and stands there sometimes 20min constant, the climate also switches on again by itself. At home I charge all batteries fully and make a test drive. After 15min the game starts again. Home to the test run the car on P, indicator jumps back immediately to 14V. Then I switch off the engine, leave the ignition on and test all consumers, everything works. What do I do? battery seems to be fine, but maybe a mass problem with a consumer who only runs while driving? Or the charge controller has a shot? Did anyone ever have a similar problem?

Breaking Last Night – Beware of Keyless Go !!!
Servus Last night I got an uninvited visit. There were no signs of burglary. The police told me if I had installed Keyless Go. That would probably be extremely easy to crack. After some research I went to this report:http://www.spiegel.de/…/…omfortabel-auch-for-diebe-a-1072851.html It’s really scary how easy that is. I have now wrapped the keys in aluminum and tried it out. The doors don’t open anymore. That’s already I have now also checked with VW if you can deactivate the keyless. As further measures I have a self-sufficient second alarm system installed. Autark means that it has nothing to do with the frequencies of the Phaeton and is also not connected with the engine control or the main battery. In addition I have already ordered special radiation protection cases for the keys as well as a baby phone. Yes correctly heard !!! That comes under the seat and the receiving part next to my bed. Then I ordered a fat flap-spat at Ebay. He is then placed at the front door. Why a flap-spat? According to the police, it is so very deliberate to knock the burglars with a baseball bat to porridge. Such a flap-spat is rather plausible because one does not assume intention 😉 The fact is that I am now on the list of these idiots and therefore it is very likely that they will come back in a few months. That same night they have In the same road 2 BMWs were made clear. Six months ago there were already 8 BMWs. Just as a tip: Do you have Keyless then please pay attention.

Various little quirks on Italy’s mountain road
Hello together, for a long time my fat guy has been mucking. And that’s what I have here in Italy often the error “find the chassis workshop error” in the display. Have my chassis set up here on the bad roads extra high. And if I drive up the narrow mountain road here and in some curves fully hit I have the error in the display stand. Shortly afterwards it is gone again. Can this be normal, because the phantom has not been built for such conditions? I noticed that when I go uphill for 15 minutes he jerks at a certain curve just before the finish. But there is no warning light on. He does not do a bit of smoke either. This error is then also gone shortly afterwards. Can there be air bubbles in the diesel supply due to the many curves? Oil temperature also rises to 100-110 degrees. Generally, the Phaeton is already very tormented at 30 degrees under extreme conditions. Next year we drive again with our good a lten e39. Can these things be normal? Because a towing service could have problems up here. I attached a photo of the curves. I drive about 30 of them uphill until I am at our house.

“The best car in the world!” – Curiosity from everyday life. 🙂
Hello, my story is not technical, but I hope for one or the other of you maybe still a bit entertaining. Last Saturday night we were briefly washing the diva and filling it up. Right after that I hold next to the parking bays to air pressure check to write down something. Driver’s window is open. Suddenly a man comes running towards us – I had not seen where and holds in each hand a microfiber cloth. When he arrived next to me, say he: “You have the best car in the world.” My first, a little annoying answer to my wife: “Oh, now something’s coming!” I thought he wanted to sell me microfiber cloths because the steamer was still wet. The man succumbs. “I just wanted to tell you what a great car they have. I also had one.” Then he just takes a quick look into the interior, sees the RNA and says, “… oh that’s already one with model care. Mine was still one before, from which he took a short look into the interior, sees the RNA and says, “… oh that’s already one with model care. first generation. Yours is a diesel, right?” I, totally puzzled, didn’t know what to say, especially since I was a bit unfriendly at first: “Eh, yes – a 3.0 diesel.” I must have looked at it as sparingly as a VW bus. Man: “Yes, I had one of those times. A great car. Now I’m looking for one again, but this time a V8. As I said, they have a great car, that I just wanted to tell you. Wish you a lot of fun with it and always a good ride.” I, still with a bad conscience: “Yes, thank you so much success in the search and then again have fun with it.” So after more than 30 years driving a car, meeting like-minded people of different cars in different places, collective washing orgies, various gasoline talks and other technical appeals … I have never experienced something so nice crazy before. I would say, a real connoisseur and lover. Maybe I will meet him again – then I wouldn’t be so reservie Rt. Promised. Greetings Andreas

It’s never too late; “representation”
Hello everyone, after a good year as a happy Phaeton driver I would like to introduce myself now finally. Finally I read here in the forum diligently. Come from the area Regensburg, am the 60 already much closer than I really like, and drive since July 2017 also a Phaeton. V6 TDI 3.0 BJ: 2011 239 PS 92000 km ( meantime 111500 km ) short, 4-seater, pictures in profile, It is the best car I have ever had. The driving comfort is incredible. In the year I am still looking forward to every still so short ride with the Diva. Problems and defects there have been so far only two. Seat heights adjustment back right and pull-in aid right front. Both taken over by Volkswagen insurance. And then would be the ACC, which only works if I do not pull the steering wheel to me completely. I read about it here in the forum, that can lie on the wire harness in the steering column. Speaking of forum; really great as one is helped here, if there are problems, auc h if very rarely the sound is a bit rough but warm. Be happy to be there now, and wish all Phaeton drivers always a free ride. Uwe
