  • PDC spins after washing system use

    Hi Leutz, for good reason I have allowed my fat guy a washing machine run with a full pampering program. Since then my PDC doesn’t do what it is supposed to do anymore… At the front it is completely paralyzed and at the back I get either two red lamps round with a permanent tone or nothing at all. I put it back in its dwelling earlier and everything remained silent and dark. Otherwise I get red lights round with permanent tone at normal entrance, but must be like this, have only about 20 cm The search function here did not really help me, there was from “everything up” to “just wait” almost every tip there. Is this a case for the screwdriver of my trust or just has to dry the thickness properly…? thanks for the help already Ralf PS: But the camera does what it should…

  • Spare parts supply Phaeton?

    Hello, first a short introduction: In mid-May I bought a Phaeton 4.2 V8 long with about 38,000 km from the VW dealer as a “world car” incl. warranty. So BJ autumn 2015 a little more than 5 years old. Unfortunately after the purchase a few smaller and bigger problems occurred. Because of ruts and switching noises the transmission was replaced on guarantee. The sun visor on the left was exchanged already before the purchase by the selling VW dealer because it bagged off during the test drive. Unfortunately does It still does, my workshop has changed the recording in which it snaps. Unfortunately also without success. It has the sun visor with two mirrors (normal and magnification). However, it also has the right, and there it holds. According to the workshop nothing can be set there. Maybe someone from you has an idea? But really worried me the answer to the parking brake. The parking brake sometimes does not solve properly and I have to pull it to me with the foot. VW was supposed to replace the pedal for the parking brake, the workshop said. However, this is in a backward position and is currently not available. Yesterday I received an e-mail from the workshop that the pedal for the parking brake is no longer available via the VW original parts logistics. Do I now have an almost new car, for which there are no more spare parts? How are your experiences with the spare parts supply? Thank you and many regards Markus

  • Bad radio reception

    The radio reception of my Phaeti ́s leaves a lot to be desired. Even with the big stations it crawls and scrapes sometimes that it really hurts in the ears. Not to talk about the small private stations at all. I was already in the workshop where I got the latest software, but it didn ́t really improve. Does someone have similar problems? Are there even possible solutions?

  • Vehicle coding for control unit of the hands-free device Premium/ Bluetooth wanted

    Good morning dear Phaetonians (and inside), maybe someone from the board can help me ? Problem: My Diva has an installed WLAN module ex factory, in which service checkbook glues the “letter stamp” front with all data (Wi-Fi SSID, password, IMEI, etc. pp ) but : in my AI the menu item does not exist despite rSAP phone coupling and working Google Earth. My friendly VW dealer has already replaced the ECU, but : the WLAN entry is missing (i I suspect that there is a bit to be set here somewhere in the depths of the ECUs that this fails. If someone could send a (anonymized) VCDS scan of his vehicle (if WLAN is installed) or one of the knowledgeers could possibly give a hint to the bit to be set, this would help me extremely well. My friendly VW dealer has already tried the problem for three days and doesn’t know any more … Thanks in advance & nice weekend e wishes Arndt

  • Water on side windows during raining

    Dear Phaeton municipality, I noticed that in my GP2 the front side windows are heavily polluted during rain rides. The water is swirled in the area of the mirror foot and lands on the disc. On the driver’s side it is more pronounced than on the passenger side, which may also have been due to the wind conditions. I find this very unusual for a car of this class. Is this also so with you?

  • Gear oil change for 1000 EUR at the friendly

    Today I brought my fat (V6) after 30,000 kilometers driven for inspection. So far there are no major problems, only with fast acceleration there is a squeak noise during the gear change, which takes about half a second. The workshop manager was well known this problem: “Change gear oil, then it is over.” After a few hours a call came: “…costs inclusive labor fee about 1000 EUR”. How serious is the noise to take? Can something go wrong n? If so, is there an alternative to the EUR 1000 investment? PHAETONPHIL

  • Air suspension defective?

    Hello, my Phaeton GP1 EZ 04/2008 is very worried at the moment. After about 2 weeks of service life, I fell on the front left side of the car. No error message on the next ride, chassis back up normally. Then after 3 days of service time, the fault memory was empty on both sides, when reading out in the workshop, nothing was found. According to the workshop, the residual pressure holding valves could be defective, but there is no need to check. ln and I would have to have both spring legs replaced, but that would be like an economic total damage. Basic adjustment of the chassis was carried out. I now left it for a week on flat surface and measured every day, after a week sinking in front left by 2 cm, front right 1 cm, rear right constant, rear left 0,6 cm. Up to 3rd day the height was constant, then again starting sinking in the front axle, at the same time climbing the rear axle, from the 4th day onwards. Day decrease front and back, front left most, front right also, back left also something, back right constant. But even directly after setting down the height values differ by up to 0.5 cm, strongest between front left and front right, about 1 cm. Does anyone have an explanation for this strange behavior? Bzw. how much tolerance of the height between the sides/axes are normal? The following questions burn me under the nails: About a month before the whole started before Is the most obvious reason really a defect of the residual pressure retention valve or could it be something more profane? Since the pressure seems to last 3 days, what could happen if I just continue driving like this? When searching for faults, the chassis was also re-set, since I get an error message with the ACC and Front Assist, could this be related? Thanks already for your ideas and help. V Greetings

  • Vehicle level too low

    My problem is the following, I had a broken level sensor and just changed it, before expanding the P the spring legs at the front had completely ventilated and the message suspension error has appeared. As far as the 2 front are now new and the car is standing again, only the error message “stop vehicle too deep” has appeared and I don’t know what I can do with it. Does only the error in the error memory have to be deleted or does something else have to be set? Greetings

  • ODIS vs. VCDS

    Hi Leutz, today a question about diagnostic software. Time and again you come across the term ODIS as a VCDS alternative in various forums, also here. Since I also have access to various software sources because of my interests, I am about to land the current ODIS as of April 2021. With 17 GB this is already a different house number than the VCDS, so should also be more “drin”. So what leads me now to the actual core of the question. What can you do with ODIS? or are there complete repair guides for all types of VAGs, or spare parts catalogs, or, or, or, or…? Does it need special hardware… etc. etc. etc. Would be nice if you could help me a little bit. Manny thx 4 hlp Ralle
