  • Navi/Radio Exchange/ Upgrade in GP1

Hello dear community, I bought a VW Phaeton V6 TDI with first registration in 2008. So the GP1. I have the following problem: The navigation system installed in the vehicle is the last shit, a reasonable interface for my iPhone is not available either. You can retrofit such a module from China apparently only with the GP2 and newer with the RNS 810. My question is, there is a possibility… 1. to install the RNS 810 from the successor model into my GP1 and this afterwards with 2. are there other compatible radios/Navis or even interfaces or additional modules to install? It would be an absolute dream to have this car Aplle CarPlay and to be able to use it fully… I hope someone can help me and thank you in advance.

  • Footroom lighting + rear window heating

According to my dealer/workshop, contrary to the operating instructions and the brochure, it should not be possible for the floor lighting to shine while driving. Is that true? I can’t really believe it. Every A6 or Touareg has this possibility and there you can also adjust the intensity of the brightness. Also, I am extremely disappointed by the performance of the rear window heating. Can it really work that it only manages to get the rear window free after 20-30 minutes ?? How is this supposed to become only in snow. Drive a V10 and am up to now (30,000 km) quite satisfied. I leased the car as a demonstration car and he had an LL of 15,000 km at the takeover. I only discovered this forum today and am now somewhat astounded by the problems you described. Especially with the control unit and the braking problem. My brakes also make strange noises during longer braking, e.g. from 180 to 120. Otherwise until now rather n It’s little things.

  • Phaeton 3.0 TDI – Charge battery(s)

The dark and battery intensive season makes for a lot more desire to strengthen the battery(s) of the Phaeton externally for short-haul or low-haul drivers. It is clear to me that you need a decent charging capacity, which also provides the charging voltage for the (AGM) comfort battery. But how and where do you connect the energy dispenser correctly? The car offers some possibilities for this (also danger and error sources?) and it would be nice to know how to do it right. – K omfortbattery (back left) directly at the plus and minus pole? or – ” at the plus pole and minus over a mass point? (allegedly the on-board electronics only recognize the refresher) – connection of the charger to the socket on the center console? (which is – with me – however switched off, if the ignition is off – and which battery(s) is charged or then, if at all)? – connection to the contacts in the engine compartment? (are both batteries charged, or only the starterbatts rie, and which loading setting, AGM or normal, is to be chosen?) For me as a layman questions about questions – do the experts have mercy on themselves?

Can one find the one with a v6 diesel that the even good sound would have. ? Or are the two possible kites really only possible if one invests a lot of money? Mfg..

  • Error in leveling, use my daughter as a remedy

Hello, for some time now my level control shows me an error: “Error level control workshop” was able to solve the problem at the beginning, in which I once let the car up and then down again. After that didn’t work anymore, I had already agreed with the error message, until the time I chauffed my daughter with your girlfriend. Daughter ́s girlfriend got in the back seat behind the driver and see… the error message was gone or came short but did not show any warning in the display. So since then I always take my daughter on the ride, which then always has to sit behind the driving seat. And there it is always ” teenager make only problems”. Gruss sulu_1

  • Charging mode

If I switch on the jack mode, must the ignition remain on all the time to maintain the setting or is the setting automatically reset when the ignition is detected?

  • Remove plastic door strip

Hello guys, would like to change the plastic strip on the passenger door at my Phaeton GP1 3.0 V6. I found no instructions on the internet for this. But if I look at this, the complete door panel should be removed before, so that you can get to this bar. Maybe someone has changed the bar here in the forum? LG

  • Vw Phaeton trunk does not open and shows in bc that the flap is open what to do?

Vw Phaeton boot doesn’t open and shows in bc that the flap is on what to do? Does not react on pushbutton, not on remote control, does not open with key, keys can not even be turned to the right, no milimeter!!! According to VW workshop you can only open the trunk if you expand the complete back bench and then unlock the lock from inside and cost at least 2 working days….For me actually incredible, there must be a possibility to open the BC and reset the wrong message??? Who knows this problem and what solutions there are, and prefers solutions that do not cost 2 days… Thank you in advance

  • Oil sensor defective after oil change?

Hello together, I have the following problem: Yesterday at a large chain was to perform a due oil change for my 3.0TDI. Car parked, the mechanic explained the car lift mode again (What is this? Oh the vehicle has an air suspension?) and then was asked to the office, as I was not allowed to stay in the workshop. Office had large windows, so I had my car in view all the time. After the workshop was finished, I should drive the vehicle out again. n. First problem here: vehicle didn’t jump. Looked after an empty battery, the master got a starter, it went without problems. Has still read out the error memory, allegedly no errors. Here came the first time after the start the error “Oil Pressure Sensor: Find Workshop”. I drove out first, then addressed the master to it. Statement: Yes, the ECUs may not work so properly after the battery was empty. e times, if the error still exists tomorrow we look further, but the sensor is here (shows at the top left) and I was here (shows at the bottom right). There can be nothing broken by us. I was satisfied with it (must continue working). And what was today? Of course, still the same error. My question to the more technically experienced among us: Can the sensor somehow have been damaged when changing oil? I read that the sensor from below Also accessible, there can have been something broken when the mechanic unscrewed the underguard to get to the oil outlet opening? There he (feeled) rather roughy went and stood at first without a clue what he had to do (looked like that for me at least). Would be very grateful for your help, maybe one or the other has some advice for me. In the future I will consider perhaps doing the oil change myself… Only trouble with incapacitated workshops Greetings Chris
