  • Farewell after 10 years

    Hello dear Phaetongemeinde, now the Phaeton driving time for my wife is over. She liked to drive the vehicle and was always enthusiastic about the quality of the workmanship, which also showed clearly in the indoor noise level. (Bj:09.2008 / 3.0 TDI 176KW) About 2.5 years ago we decided to order a new car to avoid the now safe high maintenance costs. Since the delivery was delayed, however, still further costs should arise, which I like to avoid In the end, the TÜV finally separated us. 9 fault points were found. Only the spare parts should cost more than 5,400 euros. The headlights (lens lens matt re/li) are no longer available. The FZ was bought at the end of 2013 and I have now, 10 years later, then deregistered it. During these 10 years repair/inspection costs of 16,600 were incurred. All works were carried out in VW workshops. I was of the opinion that here near v On Wolfsburg the VW Werkstätten are familiar with the FZ. We tried almost all of them. We were not really satisfied. The last thing you could see is that you would rather not have the Phaeton in the workshop. So he moved to a purchase page on the Internet and is now on the way to Syria. (Aussage of the taking over driver.) I always liked to read here in the forum. I could not contribute anything. The Phaeton is a very nice and noble ride.   • Phaeton W12 Volt display, mass or alternator?

    Hello dear forum community I’m really desperate…. I’ve read a lot of posts here now and I’m kind of not quite smart. I have the following problem. So bi n I marched off and bought a normal 100mha battery to test, before I buy again Ne Volkswagen battery for 600 euros. Does it have to be an AGM? can it be because of that? Furthermore I measured the voltages and got the right start battery their 14v and the left comfort 13… something… were not quite 14. I was already in many VW workshops and got advice but everyone told me something else… Is it the alternator ? or a mass problem or li Is it about the battery ? or still the freewheel ? what I noticed. So from 240 km/h the volt indicator also wanders back again. I had once before the error occurred here. When braking lighting failure of the speedometer and ZAB. that does not happen anymore… for that the pointer wanders back and forth… And with all luck this year also the display in the speedometer died me during filming.:/ I hope you can help me.   • Charging left battery

    Hello! Have a Phaeton now since Friday. I am very satisfied, only the left battery seems to weaken. Time, consumption and further settings are reset after each start. It also shows system errors, testing chassis, stopping brakes and checking level… The car cannot be locked by radio, the tailgate only goes on when the ignition is on. All control units have been read out, no error has been found. The batteries in the lock It sounds like a voltage problem, doesn’t it? Is this emergency start function? I only have to turn the key to the left so it starts… Sorry for the maybe doozy questions, I hope you can help me. I tried to charge the battery, but it shuts down after a short time through an audible “crack” and is not charged any further. How can I charge the left battery (AGM)? The right battery is fine. I am grateful for every hint!

  • V10 Oil pressure problem after fuel line change

    Hello all, My V10 started to lose diesel in larger quantities a few days ago on the line between the fuel filter housing and the fuel temperature sensor G81. Because unfortunately there is no space between the suction bridge and the filter housing, I dismantled the bridge and replaced the line. Unfortunately, a small cable is torn off, which I could not assign see marking on the picture. It works for me like a pilot line or a pipe from the front I have assembled everything again and the Phaeton runs again 1a, has power and sounds perfectly normal. But if you give gas in the LL or under load and the speed comes into the charging pressure range, it smears in the instrument cluster the message oil pressure, motor switch off immediately. The oil level is fine and the oil pump is mechanical, so it can’t really be. Before the repair there was nothing like that. To remove the suction bridge to remove the oil filter housing and twist about 60° to remove the loosened screws. The FS is empty. My guess is that the cable comes from the oil pressure sensor and now it doesn’t deliver a signal and I have the error. Can someone confirm that or tell me where the sensor is?   • Rust on a door and hole in the leather seat. V10 from 2005

    Good evening dear Phaeton community, I’m new here and I’m currently in the acquisition phase of a Phaeton. I’ve been fascinated by this wonderful vehicle for a long time… Now I’ve found a possible specimen. The only problem: there’s a rust spot (see pictures) at one of the doors. The paint blows up at the place and now the question to the experts here: Would this place still be repairable? The doors are to my knowledge made of aluminium. Or would it be e ine new door due?   • Soon farewell to Phaeton

    Hello to all Dickschiffer, try again to say goodbye to me here already slowly which the thickness must go. A service car has been standing since 01/20 in the garage and I now also use it private. Skoda Superb Allrad with very decent equipment and 190 Diesel PS. Thanks to all who helped me seemingly impossible problems easy and unconventional to solve. Hope I could also stand by one or the other with advice and action. I’m curious how asked our thickness r is or how long it takes to hand it over into loving hands. Of course, you’ll have to look past here from time to time so that it doesn’t get too boring for you, not that one or the other is happy to never see me here again too soon.
