  • Exchange of experience Phaeton rims, tyres, suspension, lowering. Here, in the collection thread.

Dear Phaetonists, in order to simplify the many back and forth in the many different threads, I have created here a collection thread on the topic: Exchange of experience Phaeton rims, Phaeton tires, Phaeton suspension and Phaeton depth laying in order to collect and bundle your questions and experiences here. I am also one of you for a short time! I, too, have recently been able to describe myself as proud 3.0 V6 TDI Phaetoncruzer. . I have already read a lot here, would abe As I could read, there are rims up to diameters of 22″ and over 10″ in width as accessories. – Which rim manufacturer, rim size and tyre width do you drive? – How has the driving behaviour changed? – Did you have to have bodywork done? – How low (mm) did you drop your diva? – Which lowering kit / manufacturer did you install? – What do you think of the shortening of the rods? etc? Best regards Freddy

  • 3.0 TDI from 2006, various problems

Hello have a few questions about the VW Phaeton. Got me a Phaeton bj.2006 v6 3.0 tdi. When buying already the electr. tailgate did not heist that it does not go up by itself or not too. If it is down and it tries to go it is at a point as if it is too difficult and it goes up again for safety reasons. Next problem is that after new installation of the windscreen it sounds at the start as if the servo pump does not have enough oil. Where I find myself What does the disc have to do with the servo??? Battery also empty car starts badly? Driving is topp but sounds so shy… don’t trust me to drive. Think are also piles of errors stored cruise control doesn’t work up and too much. Next problem navi doesn’t work. Sound sounds like all the heights are broken…. So many mistakes with such a super car. Are there perhaps some things solutions??? Before already Merry Christmas….

  • Who drives the oldest Phaeton

I’d like to know who drives the oldest Phaeton here and how much of it has been running. Do you really still drive Phaetons that were built in 2002?? peso

  • 3.2 V6 drop-outs when cold

Good morning, I’ve had the following problem for 3 weeks, my Phaeton spins when he’s cold. And that’s when I start him in the morning then he runs like a trekker, jumps directly to need but ten seconds before he takes gas. In the stand he claps and shakes as soon as I start and over 2000 turns he drives quietly and as soon as I stand again shakes and shakes again. The whole goes away after 5 minutes drive so I assume as soon as he gets warm, then he runs wi … car has 157000tsd km on the clock, throttle cap I cleaned, spark plugs have also been changed 5 months ago …. What could that be? Control chain? Ignition coil? …. With friendly greeting, the Phaeton driver PS: Display for thermostat spins too, sometimes it stays nice at 90 degrees but sometimes it goes down to “80” and goes only in city traffic if I do not constantly 100 drive again to the 90 degrees …???!!

  • Attached front right facing motor front – wheel box right – plastic wanted

Moin people, unfortunately my 2005 Phaeton set up on a dirt road in the front. Only at high speed a part of the engine undercover on the wheel box on the right front has now detached and ground … Is there an explosion drawing or similar for the engine undercover and attached connection to the wheel box (internal cover) – which is also with loose front. As new parts certainly really expensive, therefore I would like to try to search for these parts on the used market …

  • 18-way seat emergency adjustment

Hello dear Phaeton friends, I own a 2012 he Phaeton four-seater in the long version, unfortunately my driver’s seat has not been moving back or forward in a few days, does not move up and down and the tilt of the backrest is also not moving. For the forward and back movement I hear the relays click very quickly. The functions mentioned above do not drive via the memory buttons either, so it is probably not up to the keys. the seat, as I could notice at the passenger seat, in a high demanding position. Therefore, my question is whether the seat can be adjusted without electronics? Thank you for your help!

  • Stop! Vehicle too deep

After manual level adjustment with the switch in the middle console, this (switch) lights up at least half a day. Sometimes the corresponding symbol also appears in the display; when it disappears again, no recognizable systematics seem to follow. Both are annoying, but I have tacted under the label “Diva”. It was not funny, however, that suddenly the message “Stop! Ride” in the display was “Stop! Ride” The report was gone on the 3rd day and the car was back on the right level. “My” workshop found the error “level control not tight”. A check of the lines was negative. When the same error occurred again, I drove directly to the workshop. The master could see the error message “level too low”. n, but when driving into his hall, the front rose again, and the message had disappeared. A change of the level sensors at the front did not bring any improvement. It is to be mentioned that I perceive an unusual noise in the area below the left fund seat at approx. 1,800 to 1,900 rpm. In the forum the problem is addressed. However, I did not find a solution there. LG Thomas

  • Phaeton parking brake, remove hand brake

Hi to everyone. I’ve been looking everywhere for a while now and found nothing to my problem, therefore now the question. I pressed my beautiful Phaeton too strongly on the parking brake because it didn’t want to snap and then there was a crack and now the parking brake doesn’t work at all, it no longer snaps in and the lever to release the brake is also standing out. To see what could have been broken I want to extend the brake, I need to abe r a guide for this so that I don’t break anything. Can someone help me with this or just explain how to remove the parking brake. I would be very grateful. Thank you very much.

  • Phaeton forever or what about the resale value?

I hope that as a newcomer I won’t stoke into a wasp nest again, especially since I don’t even have a phaeton (can only be a few weeks), but as a friend of classic mobile, the Phaeton situation between the upcoming youngtimer (V10 from 2002) and the annual car makes me curious. No matter if I buy a car for 5, 8 or 12 tsd Euro – I don’t worry about the resale. I will drive it the next few years and hope that he will give me a It doesn’t matter if he has 150tsd or 250tsd (or more) kilometers on the clock – they won’t rip him out of my hands in the next 5-10 years (in 20 maybe, but then I’m a classic car myself). I know who’s driving the car with 1% or other leasing, it’s not an issue for him, but the proportion of vehicles that are less than 5 years old will disappear in the foreseeable future. Reports like yesterday on the G MX-Site, which from 5tsd Euro for good 10 years old copies faseln (I can’t say it nicer) in order to include the “known electrical problems” immediately, promote the skepticism of the usual used car buyer. What is your attitude? – Do you see your Phaeton at least in the younger future also as a long-term partner and thus as a pure lover vehicle or is this for you more an intermediate phase, which soon into another (sportier/larger etc.) young used And how do you see the chances for a resale, for example at the still quite young vintages 2008 – 2011?
