  • Purchase advice – which UP

Hello. I would like to buy a VW UP (or if necessary also Seat Mii or Skoda Citigo) as a commuter car for every day about 100km. At work we have an up of the first generation with 60hp, which drives also on long distances amazingly well. So far I have read that one should pay attention to rust around the tank covers and water break in the footroom passenger side. Otherwise there are still up – weaknesses, which one, apart from the usual checks at the used car purchase, special Auf The car should be as safe as possible. Were there head airbags as standard from a certain year of construction? (and also at Mii and Citigo?) How do you recognize whether the car has head airbags? Perhaps in pictures already? Airbag signs at the B pillar or at the seat? I currently use a hands-free device in Golf 4 as a simple retrofit solution from Alpine Radio. This works so moderately well from the language quality. Is it worth looking for an UP with FSE? the or can you get the original radio cheaply and retrofit or there are good retrofit solutions? Is there apart from the air conditioning still equipment details that you would not miss out on? I am relatively undemanding in itself – but if I now get a car for the next about 10 years, I wanted to ask at least before what else there are. 🙂 Is it generally advisable to look for a facelift – model? Pricewise the differences between a 3 year old with 30tkm and a 7 year old with 80tkm due to the new price is much lower than with high-class cars. Thanks and greetings Tunfaire

  • Composition Phone in Up Upgrade? Connection

Hello I have a Vw Up / Skoda Citigo and was proud owner of the Maps and More! Unfortunately this was stolen and I still have a Composition Phone lying around! However, I have no idea what this connection is?

  • Wireless key at the up

I need some help and suggestions. My wife drives a VW-up-built 12/2013 in which the only supplied radio key on the upper flipkey has a material crack (see photo). As a result, the pen holding the key beard has fallen out and thus the key beard no longer holds. Well, I thought and wanted to open the radio key. But how? The battery compartment can be opened easily and now where do I use the artificial key? ffteilen to decompose to replace the folding mechanism? Have I looked at various videos and there it was shown that a small pen (which is visible to the left with keys opened to the left) has to be removed. Now this pen plan is installed in the plastic! Before I go to the friendly one now, I am looking forward to suggestions what can be done. Does anyone have experiences with new cases here? The radio key body is probably also ide ntisch with a Golf VI. If you have good experiences with a new case, then which one? Looking forward to hearing from the community how to get the pen out or other suggestions?

  • Maintenance-free timing belt of the up!

Hello together, right in advance: I know that the up! has a “maintenance-free” timing belt. I also know that starting from 210,000km every 30,000km a visual examination should take place just this. I have googled myself to death and searched here at MT, but not found much… My up! is now six years old, next year he will be seven. So this is so slowly the age in which “classical” timing belts should be checked for age symptoms and possibly replaced. Have you ever made or had a visual inspection of his up! timing belt? Is there practical experience on the subject? Thank you! and greeting… schmitzKatze1!

  • Garmin Drive 61 with which holder on maps and more Dok?

I have an up in view that has the maps and more dok. EZ June 2019. Since I don’t need the on-board computer and do not want to plug my phone into the holder every time, I thought to myself, since I still have a new Garmin Drive 61, I can mount this. Question would be, is there a holder for? Is there always power on the USB can on the dok, or only when the ignition is on? Thank you. Greetings

  • VW up does not start

Hello I bought myself in January 24 a VW Up Beats Built 2017,60tkm with 75 hp. Actually a very nice car. But since a few days a start is not possible. Error message in the display, ESC error and tire pressure control currently not available. Let the car read from a friend, with the result the engine control unit is not reachable. fuses all checked, all i.o.The car is always overnight in the garage, so a marten damage is excluded, are also battery is also okay. A friendly car mechanic asked for advice, with the tip to control the relays under the steering wheel. I did that, built out and checked for circuit and passage. Also all in order. Again a advice obtained from another car mechanic, who then found a circuit diagram at Bosch. He then said I should check the relay with the number 645 in the relay carrier on the right in the upper row if e This relay is responsible for the power supply for the mstg. So Relai out and tested the whole time with the multimeter, and she because the voltage that should make the relay to attract is only 1.3 V. It would have to be at least 12 V so that the relay is switched on. So put a bridge in and the car starts again, without any errors.A round driving on the yard is noticed the bending light not funktio and of course start stop also me, because of the brittle Relai. Again error memory read out, no errors present. Now I am of course again at a point where I don’t know any further. Mass connect all tested. Why do not come there 12 V to,so that the Relai is switched on. Has the ignition switch done something with it, or even the on-board power control unit, because the fog lights do not work. I am eager for reactions and answers.

  • VW up! or competition

Hi, until recently I had bought a VW Polo 55 PS Bj 2003-for 2000 € 18 months ago-now I had 14 days ago a follow-up breakdown-(kilometre level 180400 km)ADAC came and said engine damage workshop has confirmed-new engine should cost 4000 € incl. wages-I signed off. also before that I had used various VW Golf II and III. now I will soon be 50 years old—to crown it should be a fairly newer(1-5 years).I drive 80% short distances in and around Hambu rg, the widest would be Sylt or Harz (alternative track) Sound is not so important to me-my hearing(since birth damaged both sides) has greatly decreased am rather a sufficient driver, but speed meter I need! how is then chassis and engine to be evaluated during the up ? I favor the 90 hp TSI engine on the highway/road I want to have ridepass(i.e. no fear of overtaking) so visually I like the VW up!-even if it comes relatively spartan therefore it looks very spacious g front and tidy, case room goes ok air conditioning I don’t need(never had ), although I don’t have a carport/garage. how is the normal heating blower? where is the manufactured? Competition:Vw brother seat Mii or Skoda Citigo not really or ? Kia Pikanto, Hyundai i10,Renault clio

  • Optimal adjustment of the air conditioning, I’m always cold in the up

Hello, I’ve had my new up since yesterday. I’m also very satisfied with it, only the air conditioning makes me manage something, because I’ve only had air conditioning automation for a long time. The problem: I don’t want the windows to be fogged, so it’s best to always run the manual air conditioning system, or ? (so AC turned on), but I’m always cold, no matter what I do. Is this a defect or do something wrong with the controllers ? Here’s another photo.

  • what difference at 60 to 75hp?

Meal. My brother drives the 75hp Seat Mii and I the 60hp Up. Gradually you are a bit annoyed by the few power (previously 125hp in the Audi A4 Avant) and played with the thought of what it looks like to change the 75hp to get here and there a bit more untorted on the highway over the mountains. Now, however, the question asked me, what is actually different about the 75hp engine than on the 60hp? The engine itself should be the same, just like the brake system. make a change quite easily from 60hp to 75hp?

  • Light switch “car” position – useless?

The light sensor switches on the dipped light in every tunnel, in the case of rain, parking garages. I would also be glad to have an indication in the speedometer whether the dipped light is on or not! It is annoying. No, then I prefer to switch on the dipped light manually when it rains, gets dark etc. Then I also know whether the dipped light is on or not. The frequent on and off when setting “car” also means that the light bulbs are broken faster. The rain sensor and the bend light work perfectly even if you turn on the dipped light manually. What are your opinions/experiences about this?
