2 years ago we leased a Lexus 400h as a car enthusiast – that there are sometimes problems with such an innovation carrier was clear to us and did not disturb us. A pure insolence is however the service: every buyer of a 2,000EUR-Toyota used car is probably better served. After a multiple total collapse of the starter battery due to software problems it took on average 36 hours until the towing of the car and 24h until a rental car could have been taken… you could have got start help and “then you have to drive a few hours by car until the battery is recharged!!!” ORIGINALTON of the Lexus dealer of AUTO SAXE in LEPIZIG. Seen from this the buyer of a 70TEUR car rarely have time to drive “a few hours” through the area again this time the battery was simply not chargeable. For 2x times in 12 months. The begging for towing and to hire a car lasts at Lexus Leipzig About 12 phone calls plus 36 hours waiting for help – who believes Lexus is really poor. My recommendation: Porsche Cayenne Diesel, Mercedes E-Class. Never again Lexus.

Accident-free bought ?
Hello , I’ve had a problem with my car since last week where I don’t know exactly what to do now. I bought my accident-free IS last year in August from a dealer who confirmed to me tiresome and several times that the car is accident-free. So I checked the vehicle and I noticed that the rear left door had a paint nose , so I asked the seller where that was , he said that the door was repainted because of a “cracker” but we In the purchase contract it was held that the rear side was “repainted” to the left… That’s not really tragic now I had thought that the car was still relatively new and a few kilometers on it can be that already. Later I found out after about 6 months when I wanted to raise the winter tires that the shock bar does not fit properly and did not push a bit (not firmly) so that at the left rear fender the corner of the shock bar raissed so I checked the vehicle and found with a layer thickness meter that the rear left door (as mentioned on demand) was painted in addition to the whole rear side part inc. roof column and how it looks like also the rear shock bar that I can not measure. This can be done with the purchase contract where is left painted still possibly agree the corner at the bottom of the fender I don’t like it at all ! I then pulled the bumper at the corner a little bit and was able to find out that the area where the holder of the pessack is fixed was spatted and that there is already rusty… the question is now what exactly should do now ? it is worth it now to have an expert report done ? I mean that the seller had already deceived me with regard to “repainted” but then spatled and also not only the door but the whole back side which he had written but wisely in the purchase contract, after I asked the with the door I was not aware that with the door the whole back side was meant… I mean actually only say I would not have bought the vehicle if I had known that the whole back side was painted and a part was leased … Is it therefore worth it to go to the lawyer ? thank you

Battle of the Giants π
GS vs 5er vs E-ClassAuto Zeitung One nicer than the other Even though the E-Class won the test, I am surprised how well the GS cut off in the conclusion. Because Japanese people have been particularly hard at the Autozeitung…

Test drive with IS 220d and its competitors
Hello, so, today was the day when I was able to test the Lexus IS 220d SPORT with a short translation against its competitors (not quite suitable for the thread – but at least I wanted to make it known). The significance of a 30 min. drive per vehicle is also small. However, the idea of Lexus is already very good. A4: The Audi with its old PD engine really gave itself the most powerful, of course, therefore also the roughest and loudest. Haptics in the interior ok, but not h Only with ingredients such as exclusive leather and piano varnish is something out of it. The interior is anyway Μantiqued and does not keep up with the TT or A 6 for a long time. The car would therefore simply not be in question for me, since it does not appeal to me for reasons of choice (I drive e.g. the E46 touring also for opt. reasons, since I don Μt like Lim. and the coupes with the respective engine are quite rare). I don Μt want to discuss the topic of front or rear drive here further. E90: as a precondition The E90, however, is too sober and cool in the interior, only the combination with white leather and piano lacquer would be a compromise π The car was quite difficult to drive, because it had only 1500 km on the hump. Downstairs tied up and blessed with not much suit, as well as quite grim. However, last year I had an E91 of which I was quite enthusiastic, quiet, d The I-Drive is a matter of taste. Circuit as always a poem, so the gears and the car feels solid. Lexus iS: Opulent equipped, this Alcantara cut of the seats would not be my case, but if then volleys preferred choice. Starting ok, not as vehemently as with the Audi, but also a slightly haply circuit and a slight Bonanza effect (too soft suspension?). Driving noises only very discreetly perceptible, as well as the engine – above rclasse like! A car for the long distance, very quiet, powerful, excellent music system! Very playful and technized displays on the entire dashboard (but I like it!). At the front you sit great, also quite low, but at the back quite high. The chassis was actually similarly polishy as the old Spfwk. at the E46, that of the E90 is far more comfortable. Wouldn’t bother me, because the overall comfort is really good. The all-round view is etws less good than in the competition. In my view, the selectable wheel size is limited to the 18″ version – otherwise there is nothing left in the wheelhouse – analogous to the E90. The trunk is a grey one. Deep and thereby small, cave-like access without a transferable rear bench – but in fact also forfeitable with the diameter of the load hatch, since you have to borrow another car for bulky objects…The trunk is not as high-quality as d The M.L. music system is the highest quality I’ve ever met in the Car Hifi area. The touchscreen is very luxuriantly dimensioned and includes the most varied possibilities. For a nice weekend in front of the house or in the garage is definitely taken care of, you want to try out all the functions or even master them… The only drawback in the interior: the sometimes cheap large series Toyota levers and switches. Whether keyless Z ugang systems with start-stop button are now functional and necessary everyone may decide for themselves. In short: a positive conclusion with the Lexus. So it remains to me only to keep in mind that I found another potential candidate in the car purchase in 11 months next to the E91, a signum from Opel and the Alfa 159. The technical games are already very tempting and with full equipment the car costs just over 40 Tβ¬, since my choice E91 would be far from…

2009 Lexus RX
http://www.thecarconnection.com/…/…s_RX_Spied.S178.A13214.html?… We’ve seen a few cobbled-up test mules in recent weeks, wearing a chopped up / modified body of a current Lexus RX. But this is actually an early prototype of the new crossover, which is why nearby every inch is covered up. The RX will be undergoing a major update for the 2009 model year, with production beginning in late December of 2008, towards an on-sale date of early spring of 2009. The new RX will measure slightly larger than the outgoing model. It will still offer a 3.5-liter V-6, but we’re expecting a new six-speed transmission to go along with the V-6. A 400-horsepower hybrid powerplant is expected to follow in 2010 or 2011. ********************************************************* Gruss, Mathis

IS 250 long-haul economy
Hello, who cares: the efficiency of the engine from IS 250 (2.5Ltr 6 Zyl., 208hp), in conjunction with the automatic, is m. E. exemplary! In 5 days of last week I cycled to Sweden and back 2,638 km, except for a few km only highways. After fuelling 472,9 Ltr Super were consumed: corresponds to 8,3Ltr/100km!!! A very good value, the consumption in the individual tank sections: 8,4-9,0-7,9-8,1-8,7!! Possibly doubtable, this was not a savings trip, for The distances are too large. Dangers were according to StVO, in case of lack of speed control 160-180 km/h. Regulation highway in Denmark: 130 km/h, Sweden 110 km/h. In case of performance, smooth running and economic efficiency, nothing remains with me. The above values are significantly better than with comparable German products. What more do you want? Greeting

Is Lexus a brand with style?
Hello Lexusfreunde, A few weeks ago my wife and I visited the Lexus dealer in Munich to take a test ride with the Lexus RX400h as agreed. I already reported on the experiences we could make with the vehicle, today the style is on. After we had gone through the light-flooded ambience of the sales room and had registered us the friendly lady at the counter, we were greeted by the responsible seller. A person in whom – w the characteristics of the English substatement were incarnated in the course of the day as well as the ability to listen, to understand and to argue objectively. We found these abilities all the more remarkable because I did not save with consistent criticism after the test drive. Because in no case did I want to miss the amenities I am used to from my Citroen in the future. And the loss list was long. The friendly welcome in this house ended with my message β or I should say better β with our promise that we will come to the successor of the RX 400h in 2009. Oh, what an abyss is opening when I turn to the German Nobel brand “Mercedes”! I have been driving my Mercedes SLK for eight years now β and every time I bring the roadster to the inspection, the lady at the counter asks me: “Truck or car?” For me it is incomprehensible anyway, like the Mercedes brand with its Mischa When I came with my brand-new Citroen C5 to my Upper Bavaria dealer to activate the emergency call function, the addressed stumpy man suddenly turns around at the counter and yells at the workshop with 120 phon: “DU SEPP, WIA KEEPS WITH THE NOTRUFKNOPF? What’s completely impossible with the Mercedes dealer, because he would irritate her: “Truck or car?” “??? β No, SLK!” The Citroen dealer would shock her: “DU SEPP, WIA GIVES THE INSPECTION?” What are your experiences? β Is Lexus a brand with style? Greeting, HIPPODAMOS

New Lexus IS, something’s missing…
Allegedly, the new Lexus IS has NO foldable seats! Only a narrow reach! Even at an extra cost there should be nothing! So I’m starting to get away from the car again… I don’t need a combo (which will not exist anyway as IS), but sometimes you need a little more space. I only think about what I’ve been transporting in the recent past: a larger plant, an ironing board (the example also came from Lexusforum, apparently from practice). *g*), a small (120x70cm) desk, … with foldable seats, this is also not a major transport problem in a limousine. But please don’t bring any arguments like “does not use a sports limousine” etc. – I’m really a bit shocked… after all Lexus wants to get out big with the vehicle here in Europe. Because of me Lexus should rather have dispensed with the distance radar and a feature that every Daihatsu Cuore or Fiat Panda has as standard on board What do you think about that? mfG – linn
