  • Switch to Avensis 2003-2008

Hello, I am currently driving a BMW E39 540 and need now a reliable combination. My BMW has now 150tkm and I would like to sell it. This year it went up again in the insurance. I no longer need the 286hp and the fuel consumption is with an average of 15 liters exactly as high as the spare parts prices if you want to keep the decent in shot. Besides, I have two dogs that find no place in the soda. That’s why I want to give it away now. I am the Ave nsis Kombi as a new car test drive and found it really great. I liked it better then the Passat or the Honda. That’s why I would like to ask the owners of a Avensis Kombi how satisfied you are with the car. Also I am still unsure about the motorization. I don’t know if I prefer to take the 2 liter petrol or the 2.2 D-4D diesel. I would also be interested in the diesel with regard to the difference between the 150 and the 177hp Diesel is, apart from the power? Which engine is the better one? Here it would be great if you can tell me the advantages and disadvantages or experiences. Every year the AGR valve cleans doesn’t matter to me. But what about the rest? The looked-on vehicles have a mileage of between 120- and 170tkm. What about the transmissions? Are the automatic transmissions still recommended at above-mentioned mileage? Are the transmissions rather plagued by failures or can one without far away I would also like to know if the automatic transmission has predetermined an oil-change interval by the manufacturer or if it is like BMW, a “lifetime” filling which should be changed nevertheless and relatively cumbersomely all 60tkm?! I am not technically unsavory and always repair even larger repairs myself. However, I know that there are children’s diseases with every model. In the E39 there are even many that occur again and again, even if What does the Avensis look like? What do I have to pay special attention to and what goes into the money with the model? What does the reliability look like and where do you get problems with the TÜV? Would I be happy if the Avensis drivers spoke.

  • Avensis dcat cooling water loss

Hello Forengemeinde, have recently a problem with cooling water loss on my Avensis 2.2dcat ( year 2007, 165000km ). After about 500 km I have to tip on it again and again well. Was therefore already with Toyota. A first visual test has revealed that both the ZK and the water pump are dense. Nevertheless, the first diagnosis of the master was probably the ZKD torn. To determine this one must probably expose the engine, because it could also be a crack somewhere the ( But if everything is dry, how is it supposed to work ?? ). Curiously, the phenomenon of the associated increased engine temperature (does something above normal, never into the upper third or the red area ) occurs only partially. Up to speed 120 nothing happens at all, since the temperature is as it should be. If I drive faster, so from speed 140, the needle sometimes (not always ) wanders slightly above normal. But this problem does not always occur, The engine temperature indicator stopped in the normal range. Question: If the ZKD would be the ZKD, the needle would have to move permanently towards the red area or not? And wouldn’t white smoke have to come out of the exhaust? Shouldn’t there be residues on the oil filling nozzle in the case of cracked ZKD? A workmate who himself bolts to everything that wheels has meant that it might be just the termostat that you could chmal ” hangs ” because also the power of the heater is very different. Sometimes I don’t get the place warm and on the other hand heats the properly. About suggestions and tips I would be very grateful… MfG

  • Avensis T25, straight, track?!

Hello Avensis driver. For over a year now I’ve had my Avensis 2.4 station wagon. I’ve always found that it doesn’t exactly steer very directly and can be brought out of the train especially on the motorway by a little side wind. I’ve been driving from Bern to Munich and back again in the last few weeks and have also given a bit more gas on the German motorways than here in the alpine country. So at 180 km/h I have to concentrate around the box still on the S It’s not like I’ve never driven so fast before…… but driving with the Avensis over 200 (which also needs a little patience) is no longer funny! It feels like bike tires are mounted in the front! The garage thinks there is no game in the steering system, they have looked at all this (well, they always say). Now I would be interested if anyone else has made similar infarctions with the Avensis. Thank you, thank you!!

  • Vespotted injection nozzles at D4D ?

Question to all D4D drivers: Ever heard of problems with clogged injection nozzles ? My Avensis Verso (88,000 km) had, shortly after I had fuelled on a cheap tank for 20 EUR diesel, suddenly power loss: a few km later only felt 20 HP was available and the maintenance control lamp stood up. Immediately to the TOYOTA dealer, who read the error code: constipation in the caft material filter up to injection pump area (so in the kind). r 8.000 km a new filter catch built! So again a new pure and the tank with brand sprite full, one should trust the judgement of the master that the fuel was probably contaminated … And look, after another 5 km driving distance in Schleicher-operation came by itself life again into the turbo and stops so far (+450 km). My friendly hint to the gas station operator, that there might be something wrong with the diesel, he of course denied. More still- he reported that there is a known problem with clogged injection nozzles at Toyota. But I have never heard of it or read it ! Greetings aVANsis

  • T25 Avensis recall

Moinsen together, am somewhat surprised 🙂 Found a letter from Toyota Germany in my mailbox! They really want to renew my almost 18 year old car, what:-) It’s about driver side airbag, recall action. In the letter stands my license plate and chassis number. I want to get in touch with a Toyota contract workshop, say the find it already crass, that Toyota for such an old car still wants to carry out a recall action, respect . Ha will you also get to write one like that?

  • Gearboxes can almost not be switched

Servus together, after the drama is done with the broken drive shaft, there’s a new problem. My wife called me, is just in front of the job and doesn’t bring in any gear! Then it tried to switch again a few times, and everything went again! However, 5th and reverse went not in. I drove to her and found that about 0.5 liters of transmission oil was missing. I filled in again with the drive shaft repeater as much as ran out I didn’t find a leak on the transmission or shaft, but the felt under the engine cover is oily below. We filled up oil and drove home, but as I said, 5th went very hard in and backwards not at all. I then looked at the rod from the transmission cable train, the rubber from the rear transmission train was on the shaft from the lever, which put the rod into the belt. The rubber sleeve in the rope drawer is twisted, not the rubber sleeve on the shaft. I thought, great, that’s why the fifth one doesn’t go in so hard and backwards at all. Then I disassembled everything and made it walkable and greased and built it together again. Now it’s like this, that goes in 3 and 5 and backwards, but not 1, 2 and 4. I’m still getting quite crazy, what could this be about now. Gang lever bars under the cuff in the interior seems i.o. Ka nn it be that the whole rope train is emptied out, my wife also said, the reverse has always been heavy/hacky pure…..am perplexed. Thanks for your tips Christoph1000

  • No drivage

Greetings to God, my wife has a breakdown today. Her T25 Kombi BJ 2004 with 105 tkm doesn’t drive anymore. Engine runs, clutch output lever on gear housing moves even when you climb on the clutch, gears can also be inserted, stay locked in, just drive does not. If you put in a gear and turn off the engine and release clutch, you can push it as if empty gear was in it. If someone has a tip where to start looking, I can start from if it’s just the clutch, I’d still fix it, or if it’s the gearbox, that’s a knock-out criterion, or if it’s something else….. Thanks for the answer Christoph1000

  • Immobilizer or starter?

Moin , have a question about my Avensis T25 1.8 gasoline bj.05 This morning I wanted to drive to work and there jumped no more So the starter doesn’t turn . BATTERY MEETING OKAY ,STARTHILFE HAS NOT ANYTHING THE starter doesn’t turn … Unfortunately no way to push . Had to work . But with an OBD gets error read error message B2799 control unit The car drove yesterday quite normally without any problems . Unfortunately I only have a key for the car. Key seems to be okay. Now to my question, if the immobiliser is defective or key is not recognized at Toyota the driver still turns? Had a problem with an Opel immobiliser, since keys were not recognized, but it was so that the starter turned nevertheless but the car did not start. Can someone help me thanks and greeting Snop77

  • Error code P 2002 ?? at avensis T25

Hello to the experts here, have the following problem and some questions : My Avensis is year 2007, 2,2 dcat, 177 hp, 120,000km on the clock. Yesterday the following lamps went to the display: VSC and TRC OFF. So today to the dealer who gave me a gruesome diagnosis (so expensive ). Exhaust gas system works under standard which means that the cat should be in the bucket, water pump leaks, injectors must probably be changed. In order to go quite safely then time-consuming test drives must be over Now my questions: What does this error code P 2002 mean? Can I somehow determine if the injectors are in the bucket? (in driving mode I confessed I had an abrupt power consumption, the car only went up to 2200U/min… car turned out…a few seconds waited…new started and the power hole had disappeared…the dealer said that was the No. tlaufprogramm have been due to the error message ). And again another question : how long is actually a dealer selling a greytruck in the warranty obligation…6 or 12 months ? Already thank you for the help. asparagus eater

  • Avensis (T22) Cooling water boils in the balancing tank

Hello! It’s about an Avensis 2.0TD T22 yesterday after a 10 KM drive it had to find out that water vapor from the engine compartment is visible on the right side. After opening the bonnet I saw and heard that the cooling water is blowing in the balance tank. The compensation tank has crumbled a bit at the top, because it is quite porous at this point. At this point also this water vapor has leaked out. I’m pretty sure that this hole in front of some Now I would like to know if the fault of the hole (as big as a 2 EURO coin, right next to the filling plug) or of another fault will lie in the cooling circuit? Can someone “please” help me further. THANK YOU in advance, Greeting Frank
