Hello together, I bought a nice and practical Carina Sportwagon on the weekend, with everything around it (even heater). Had informed me about this car here before extensively, great forum here. Is a Japanese, has zero rust, completely dry, all maintenance work done (including brakes), battery new, climate maintained, only 112000 km, top in shot, however red (you can not have everything). Unfortunately, the car is only low in pollutants E2. In the papers I have thisbzgl. Encryption 14, which is tax-equivalent to Euro 1 🙁 On the Internet are offered mini-cats, also for the carina, but with different strengths. So that I take the right diameter: does someone know here which diameter the exhaust system of the Carina E Sportwagon 1.6 4E-FA Bj. 11/94 has? Thanks for information!

Sales advice Avensis
Hello Toyota friends, I might like to buy a Toyota Avensis Kombi and have a few questions or want to hear some opinions. Since I could not yet call a Toyota my own, I don’t know about the specific advantages and disadvantages either. So far I drive a BMW of 3, but am dissatisfied for a variety of reasons and want to change. Which gasoline can you recommend (1.8 or 2.0)? Should also be suitable for the motorway. f To convert gas? Are there other things I urgently need to pay attention to? The upper limit for the purchase is 20,000 euros. Thank you already in advance. Greeting André

Avensis or Opel Insignia
Hi you!!! Come actually from another forum (Insignia)… The Opel Insignia not only beats quite high waves there, but also gets from the car newspapers (even from the VW sponsored car picture) almost only good reviews. Since I think this here many former Opel drivers would be curious to hear your opinion and if there is maybe one or the other, he thinks to fetch soon again a German car from Rüsselsheim… Also otherwise I am curious about eu re opinions (is boring to read only the opinion of opelfans)…so just give it a try… Thank you…GRUß

Avensis T22 D4D diesel particulate filter DPF
Hello, someone knows a supplier for diesel particle filters for a Avensis T22 D4D bj. 2002, 81kw ? I have been looking for a long time in DE but found nothing. There are in Austria 2 providers , Remus + diesel particle filters.at, but apparently no attempt to extend this to DE because the bureaucratic hurdles/costs in DE are probably too high , although the values are reached . For the successor the T25 with the actually identical machine , 1CD-FTV , 81kw , there is a in DE. Also for the RAV with the same machine there is something according to Toyota . But the 2001/2002 Corolla /Avensis D4D drivers are apparently somehow the Gearschten. Technically probably no problem but on the part of Toyota probably not profitable enough, that I call forward looking customer care / binding. Nothing is impossible, thanks Toyota ! If there is not soon something falls also the subsidy flat, sometimes apart from that the Vorkat now also after 5 years must be changed, this is If a DPF had been available in 2007 then it would have already been mounted, I have been looking for a manufacturer/provider for about 1 year. (Our box has just tired 47t KM on it, very cleverly this bureaucrat regulation 5years or 80000km, a prescribed function test would have been intelligent, but that would probably have required too much, which official mold already has so much brains). If nevertheless someone had a tip to relate a DPF can give I would be grateful. Otherwise the box will go away soon + ” save your money, never buy a Koyota, times of best service and quality are gone ” becomes the motto. BG waig

Avensis a buying tip?
Hello, we are currently looking for a new vehicle for our family (2 adults + 2 children). My restrictions would be gasoline and cheap in maintenance. In addition to the Opel Astra, Skoda Octavia and Passat we have come to the Toyota Avensis. Now I wanted to ask about your experiences: 1) Do you think the Avensis Limo is sufficient for a 4-person household (combi would be too expensive)? 2) Is Toyota cheap in terms of operating costs (workshop costs etc.)? Like others like VW or Audi? 3) Would the 1.8 liters be sufficient and how much you think this will consume “real”? 4) Are the engines, etc. (about BJ 2005) fully developed? 5) Are there special years of construction that you should buy or from which year of construction should be our new old Avensis from your point of view? We are looking for a cheap, solid and mature car! With little problems! You would help us very much. We are currently a little car-damaged. in the future our savings box in the apartment and not in our parking lot stand. Thank you and greetings BOP

Avensis D4-D-Cat, engine problems
Hello, driving an Avensis D4-D Cat as a station wagon for about 1 year. From day 1 (new vehicle) I noticed that the engine was running in high idle for far too long after cold start. When rolling off before the traffic light the idle speed was increased to 1,200 rpm – and that happened regularly until long after the actual cold start phase. Several attempts to fix the error failed. The problem was not new to the Toyota people at all, as I learned. But nobody knew what to do. In consultation with Toyota Germany, for example, a fuel line was renewed. The latest software version was supposed to be played up, but it already had. When I wanted to return the vehicle – after all, the apparatus used around ten liters and for that one actually does not buy a diesel – another attempt was carried out by a new master. He just came fresh from Mitsubishi and knew the problem because it occurred more frequently with them. This master was not too shy. The car ran excellently for a long time. However, it was never a saver’s miracle. I rarely came under 8 liters – despite the mostly quiet driving method. Thus, the Avensis consumes about 2 liters more than comparable VW/Audi with 170 hp. This is also known at Toyota. Shortly before the first inspection, the well-known problem was announced again and should be solved in the future. In addition, the EGR valve was renewed. Unfortunately without success. Only after reaching the 6th partial stroke on the cooling water thermometer it is warm enough for the engine to be able to do without the speed increase to 1,200 in the stand. Result: He needs now more than one liter. Also the complaint with repeated verification did not do anything. Unfortunately, the ‘smart master’ no longer exists and he obviously has his intention to know how The new master now even claims that this is state of the art with the engine, although the engine has run quite differently in the meantime. But maybe I only dreamed it. Maybe someone can tell the new master how to fix the error. Would I be pleased. M. O.
