  • Question about maintenance and service Checks / check booklet

Hi guys, I’m not the car expert yet and therefore I’m looking for help here in the forum regarding actually necessary maintenance and precautionary repairs/parts exchange. To the car: I have an end-2015 Avensis with meanwhile 50,000 km on the clock (diesel 143 hp, 6 gear manual transmission). I made a 40,000 km service in HH Bergedorf in mid-2018 and for this about 420 € gross moaned (last service in the warranty period) and do not want to repeat this! The rest was pure nonsense (sample ride, clear sightings fill in. I made the washing water especially brim full before, nevertheless they took a few euros. They then said that they had to test the washing machine, I was mega sour). Apart from the price, I didn’t like the service at all: I got my car with new advertisement on the license plate (not with car dealership), all belts were plugged in, the ventilation system was This is how you give the car back to a customer, PRIMA! Since I don’t have a chance at such high prices, I wanted to ask what you actually have to do the next 50,000 km. As I said, now it has 50,000 km down. I had an oil change made via Groupon at 44,000 km in Jan. 2020 (approx.50 €). Now to the main questions of the necessary maintenance points: According to the service booklet: – The fuel filter should probably be at 60 Tkm. – Air conditioning filter every 20 Tkm (Is that the interior air filter behind the glove compartment?) – Cooling liquid at 160 Tkm –> still lasts – Clutch liquid 120 Tkm –> also lasts When should I change the brake fluid (we changed in mid-2018)? Since the car now has 50,000 km down, the last oil change was before about 6,000 km, now only the fuel filter at 60 Tkm and possibly then also the air conditioning filter on me, or have ic h forget something elementary? When should you change the brake fluid and when should you have the next oil change? Greetings! the Chris

  • AVENSIS: BUILDING RECOMMENDATION or rather not?

Hello you hard-working Avensis drivers 🙂 I took a lot of time the last day to search through all the posts in this forum and to look at if my questions have been posted. I am new here and think I have found the right platform. Now to my question: I’ve looked into the new Avensis (150hp automatic-comb) and was positively surprised how interesting the price-performance ratio of Toyota was designed. I’m a year old. elanger Audi driver and also very satisfied up to now, however, I find it difficult to buy a “new/used” Audi, because I can’t quite understand the price logic of Audi (adventure!!). Therefore my tendency to Avensis. – Can you recommend the Avensis to me or what are your experiences with the car? – is there perhaps also someone who has changed the warehouses? – what about the rumor that Toyota has incorporated considerable qualitative deficiencies the last Years due to the high production volumes? – what should I pay attention to when buying or which motorization is ideal or sufficient for the combination? – the design (outside) is criticized as boring, what do you say about it? Would be very grateful for a mood picture or your opinion and experience!!! Greetings from the south Dario27 🙂

  • Visible and measurable different tyre width, despite the same tyre size (summer winter tyres)

Hello dear Toyota municipality, my Theama can actually accommodate in rims and tires, actually has nothing to do with Toyota in the actual sense. But because it is my Toyota T27, on which these rim tire combinations are attached, I ask you first of all after your opinion. Here you see the pictures of two different rim tire combinations. The tire sizes are both identical! Summer, like winter! Summer tires 225 45/18 and winter tires 225 45/18. M The pictures show that the two tyres are somewhat different in size. The summer tyres look wider and lower, the winter tyres look narrower and higher, although they have the same size. They are really different! The summer tyres are wider and the winter tyres are narrower. How can they be??? They are the same tire sizes! The rims for the summer tyres have a size of: 8.5×18 ET42. The winter rims have a size v on: 8×18 ET42. Can the 0.5 less wide of the winter rim make so much difference that it is optically and also measured so much difference??? Maybe someone has an idea. Thanks for your opinions.

  • This is where connoisseurs are in demand!

Hello, unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately my beloved Toyota Avensis ́99 2.0 Beziner 240tkm now gives the trip to Africa. Too bad, but it is not worth it anymore. How never had repairs and now everything seems to be broken. Now a new car of this size has to come, only which one? And now the connoisseurs are in demand!! My demands are longevity, reliability, reasonable viewing price, no susceptibility for annoying and expensive repairs, rust-free (no garage) It must be a diesel and should have about 100kw. It is still important to know that I have an annual driving performance of 50,000km and own a caravan. To the previous selection are the 1-3 year old: Avensis Mazda6 Skoda Oktavia VW Passat and I am completely overwhelmed, because every hander says that his car is the best. what do you think, with which model do I have the best chances to drive for a long time without having trouble? Or do you have another good tip? T thank you to the helpful connoisseurs hida

  • Wheels ! Size comparison and optical effect of the T27

Rims! Sizes comparison and optical effect of the T27 Hello to everyone! I wanted to have some information about the optical effect on different rims on the T27. Have now a 7Jx17H2 rim on the Avensis with an ET 40 Wanted to convert now to an 8.0Jx18EH2+ ET45. Now the ET increases by 5 mm, right? Compared to the ET 40 the ET45 rim is 5 mm denser clean. At the same time the 18 inch rim is 25.4 mm wider than the 17 inch rim Accordingly the 18 inch rims should be Should Felge then be 20,4 mm further out than the 17 inch rim, right? Is that comparable to the 20 inch track plates on the 17 inch rim? I thank you for your help

  • Avensis as an EU car ?

I’ve been looking for a new car for 2 months. And it could be an avensis if I get a positive feedback here among connoisseurs. Currently, the prices for Avensis as a Euro car are unbeatable. Since we drive “only” about 10-12 Tkm per year, the decision this time was made on a 1.8 petrol with manual gearbox in the version “Premium”. My questions: 1. What is the 1.8 engine ? Does it often have any problems ? Are you generally satisfied with your avensis. Would you be it recommend ? 2. What disadvantages do I have when buying a Euro car (from Denmark). With which German version is “Premium” comparable? Would you be grateful for advice.

  • Prices and statements from theToyota dealership ?

Hello, At our Avensis the alternator failed. When I looked at it and measured the voltage I noticed that it probably pushed oil out of the control cover. Anyway, the alternator is quite sloppy. At Toyota they suggested to me only to have the Lima replaced, because allegedly extremely many Toyotas, with this engine, have this error and that is quasi normal, so not bad. I unfortunately got a bit stunned, since the Lima just on What do you think about this statement from Toyota and how long will the new Lima be doing this? On the other hand, the replacement of the Lima is to cost 720€. The full program including the sealing of the tax cover and the new Lima is to cost 1600€. Are these prices ok? On the estimate there is a overhauled Lima for 435€ (without tax). I looked in the net once and saw the alternator for much less money. I have also seen in various forums that this should cost only 450-550€. However, the entries are partly quite old. About a few opinions, advice I would like to. Thank you
