  • what a slope the Prius can handle with the reverse gear

A question for all interested parties. Which slope can actually cope with the reverse course of Prius III. But I did not find anything in the book. Would be interesting, since the reverse course is actually only electrically driven. Also tomorrow in the workshop you will ask. Maybe one of you will know here. Thank you

  • Prius III? Never again!

I have a big problem with my Toyota Prius: it consumes about 26% more than indicated. I have never reached the 3.9l after more than 10,000 driven, 5.3l are the norm with me. I have already been reprimanded three times and have been told by the dealer with a smile in my face that I should have a Dekra consumer report for more than 1000 euros. I think: actually, the low consumption is a guaranteed feature for me. Why a burden of proof here I can’t understand it. Toyota is now taking responsibility and, for me, the Prius is an eco-fake that I can’t advise anyone to. Due to the company’s impossible communication behavior in terms of concealed defects, my vehicle has also lost thousands of euros in value in 6 months. I also demanded compensation from Toyota here, but I didn’t even get an answer. I therefore turned to a US law firm that via S ammel lawsuit in the US state of Alabama claims damages against Toyota. Too bad that these measures are not provided for in Germany, but I was assured that my case in the US can lead to damages in principle. I gladly make the brief available to other Toyota victims. My conclusion: Toyota has seriously damaged me as a buyer, deceived me in terms of defects and more than disappointed in terms of consumption. Testimonials like Heike Makatsch and many others raise expectations that the product Prius does not meet. I can only strongly advise against buying a Prius III due to the experience gained. Perhaps there is an expert or test engineer here in the forum who can help me in terms of consumption reports, yet only one thing wants to do: get rid of the vehicle and never have anything to do with Toyota.

  • Now I regret…

…to have bought a Prius…nothing is impossible with Toyota. What was not possible with my Audi, Mercedes, BMW-Mini…etc., – in forty years experience gathers – here everything is cumulative. Brakes…Lighting…Fahrwerk…Stossabsorbers…Stabilizers…everything defective….with a new car (sic!) Three months I have the vehicle…only trouble…the great customer service only when selling…now only long and stupid faces…shoulder shrug…again Toyota? Only if above I’m so disappointed… would never buy any more Japan vehicle…but my Haybusa is top…it’s not Japan…but my Prius is shit…sorry Rainer

  • Prius III accelerator clamps?

Hello, have the Prius III for two weeks. The driving is also a lot of fun. So gradually you get to know the car. According to the manual and salesman you should drive the first 300 km comfortably, from 300 km you can also push on the tube which is stupid with this car but the first tank filling is just fun money. At the motorway driveway I gave so from 30km/h full throttle (to the stop) on the last 2cm gas path cracked something in the pedals I scared myself and went from this runte r. Unfortunately, the box was still full for about 1-2 seconds. This happens irregularly for me. At first I thought that the floor mat would have slipped under it and then give in (which causes cracking) but I can’t imagine that. Besides, it only cracks when the engine is on and not always. The bigger problem is that the car then shoots at full throttle like stupid through the area. Dealer has no idea, sometimes come by, well. The hotline “The colleague of course there was no answer and I am sure there is no Mr. Schmitz either. Should the box have a kickdown so this is not mentioned in the manual. What now? Greeting Peter

  • real consumption at high speeds

Hello to all Prius drivers! I would like to ask you a question. I understand that the hybrid drive in the city has great advantages. But what is on the highway? If you drive at a constant speed, you can never charge the batteries, but still carry the whole weight of the batteries. So let’s answer 3 questions, which I would like to answer honestly and unbeautifully. 1. What does a Prius consume when you ride on the highway in normal car traffic without being an obstacle, al 150 km/h 2. What does a Prius consume if you set the cruise control constant at the electronically limited top speed (170 or 180 km/h) 3. Is it possible to remove the electronic limitation of the top speed according to the software? Thank you, AudiV6

  • Prius II Passes “Hybrid Crash Test”

The answer to this question was a first crash test by Dekra and “Auto Bild” with a hybrid car. The accident researchers sent a three-year-old Toyota Prius Hybrid II with a speedometer of 124 000 kilometres onto the track at the Dekra Crash Center Neumünster. According to the American FMVSS standard – a corresponding European standard is not yet available – the hybrid car hit the frontal front with a speed of just under 50 km/h. The conclusion of test manager Peter Rücker: “The Toyota Prius is also a solid car in terms of accident safety of the electrical system.

  • Prius 3 – LED passing beam

Servus together! Just had the pleasure of driving the new Prius sample and I’m really thrilled. The 3 Series is a lot better than the 2 Series. What would interest me, what do the LED Ablellender look like? I’d prefer a comparison of the light cone or the light intensity between the halogen and the LED light. According to the Toyota dealer (the boss personally) every car dealer has received the Prius Life with comfort package up to now –> in white! :-). Too bad, actually, would have liked the Exe also seen. Is there possibly something vivid about LED headlights??? Greeting! Sebastian

  • Noise at the Prius Plus

Hello together , we drive the Prius Plus since September 2012 , naturally a great car however it bothers us that the car makes us when driving squeaking to grinding noises. After 500 m approx the noise is gone again and makes itself not noticeable even during the ride. If the car after a ride stood a short time and you drive then the whole goes from the front again. The car was therefore already in the Wérkstatt; however, you could find nothing and w r then of the opinion that this noise would be caused by flight rust which sets itself off very quickly with a Hybried vehicle. Supposedly one also sent a fax to Toyota directly but since one has not yet received any such error messages of other Prius Plus holders or from other sites. So we took this statement with the flight rust first so. But now that it is so cold and wet this noise seems louder and more often to occur. We have the impression. Now we have the car because of it again in the workshop where the master told us immediately that he will find with high probability also this time nothing, but one would overtake everything again. Does one of you also have a similar problem with his Prius Plus and what can we legally make whom now still find no mistake and this corrosive noise continues to occur ? Thanks and LG Heike

  • Consumption Prius vs BMW M3

Hi Folks, on a non-public legal station there was a (naturally more effective, but also really more interesting) consumption comparison between Prius and BMW M3 in the motor magazine “Grip”. My realization: Are you on the move faster the Prius doesn’t help you at all… In the “faster” mode the Toyota “drys” of course. Can you compare that? Or does a Prius owner now also have an M3 for the faster moments in life under the Carport? Can a Prius Driver now still rubi I’m not afraid of speeds above 299 km/h on good asphalt, but I’m also used to the humble deceleration orgy of a “duck”. Which one should you take?

  • Toyota Prius II -100,000 km continuous test at ams

Hello, strangely enough you don’t hear anything from the Prius friends about the overall very positive ams-permanent test! 2nd place (after the Golfl 2.0 TDI) in the ams-Mängel-index-list. You can agree with the ams-critic regarding the inspection and oil-change intervals of only 15,000 km. This is now really completely out. Otherwise you can see that with the facelift in March 2006 various criticism points have fallen away. (the ams-Prius comes from December 2004) From my own “experience” I can say the following: During an intensive test drive in spring 2004 I didn’t like the vehicle at all. With another test after the facelift I hardly recognized the Prius II again. We ordered one and hope that it will be delivered in the next 8 days. The 1st place of the golf really amazes me. For me this “smells” somehow strange. Not only because VW products otherwise do not stand out at the ADAC or at the TÜV with a great reliability. especially after the super-catastrophic car image-permanent test of the Touran. But what is it so beautiful: Pekunia non olet! Burri
