  • Is the checkbook maintenance still worth it for my Starlet P9?

Hello dear Toyota forum, I’m new here and have a specific question at once: Does my Starlet (P9) year 1998 with almost 70,000 km the annual inspection/checkbook care still pay? So far I have always had the car, which I bought in 2002 with 12000 km, maintained checkbook. Meanwhile I drive – because of the good traffic connection – but only about 5000-6000 km a year. To me the question now arises, if and what is in the maintenance book, whether ev. unnecessary costs and repair should you just change oil and wait until repairs occur? Or does someone know a good free Toyota workshop in Berlin, which really only does what needs to be done? Best regards and thanks already Alexander

  • New used aygo for grandma

Hi together, My grandma is looking for a new used in size aygo. Should have 5 doors, be economical, inconspicuous and will be driven up to 5000 km a year, rather less. Evtl 4 times a year about 100km/1 way highway otherwise only city traffic. That has gone up to now twingo and it soon falls apart ( previous owner has dealt with it atrociously). She would have liked Bluetooth and beepser or camera. We have found an aygo nearby from the dealer. 20tkm Ez 2014 Far b Display with Bluetooth and return camera Mountain driving assistant Good condition 5 years warranty Inspections 4 pieces cost only material Yesterday made a test drive and he drove well. A few stains (shrinks, stains, scratches in 2 rims) he has fixed them but to the rims. Winter bikes are no longer there. The dealer wanted 8000 for it. Are now so that they take over the registration, fix the damage except on the rims, again properly prepare, Inspection and new TÜV make. Then they have still winter-ripened on aluminum wheels, cost 420, they would take over half. Makes then 8200€. Do you find the price fair? I don’t want to haggle, but it still seems a bit expensive to me. In addition, the kick catcher was exchanged in front (allegedly less damage) and it is an accident car. Is there still room for room if you pay cash or is that no matter because of the low interest rates (so it went recently at Audi)? What price would you find appropriate? Thank you and greetings

  • Yaris vs Aygo – Purchase decision

Hey you! at the moment I have the decision to lease either an aygo cool or a yaris 1.0 sol, whereby the yaris, as far as the rate is concerned, is still 20 euro a month cheaper! my girlfriend would drive the car and therefore only to work (10 km easy distance) and possibly to go shopping. unfortunately I am not at all clear which of the two I favor… what would you do? lg

  • New 1.33-litre engine at Yaris 2009

Hello, I have planned for a long time to buy my first Toyota – and a Yaris – soon. Actually I am interested in a 1-2 year old car, but the new 1.33-litre engine from model year 2009 seems to me also quite interesting… So I would be happy if someone could write some enlightening words about some of my numerous questions here. I have no idea, for example, how robust such a start-stop automatic is t. Can any of you assess this? Can you assume that such a thing would entail an increased maintenance requirement? Or is this already a sophisticated technology that works completely smoothly? Since it is a completely new engine: Do you think that one has to reckon with children’s diseases? And when should the new Yaris actually be available in Germany? Unfortunately, my previous research did not provide reliable insights. and price list? And a test report? Best regards, Stephan

  • Special actions related to the scrapping premium/environmental premium?

Hello, from some manufacturers (Fiat etc.) there are now quite interesting special promotions, in which there are again particularly good extra discounts, if you give off your end-of-life vehicle for scrapping premium. But what about Toyota? Have I missed something – or is there so far no reaction to this premium program?? And what does VW do in this context? Are VW and Toyota “too fine” for such promotions? Or just very slow? Or do they not have it in this context? Obeit?

  • Spark plug change at Yaris

Servus with each other, since my girlfriend’s father had previously believed that one does not have to change spark plugs with a Yaris, because “the Yaris instead of spark plugs has spark coils” *wechlol*, now after over 90,000km finally a change is necessary, especially since we want to drive with the box on Thursday on vacation. Now the question is: What a key width do I need for the spark plugs? I myself come from the VW camp, there are big ones for the old cars (Golf II & III) and kl one for the newer 16V engines (I don’t know the key width by heart). I can get the keys briefly at work and then make the change. The question now is: Does this fit the Yaris candles? Is a Yaris of the first generation, BJ 2000 with a 50 kW/68 hp motor (which is really lame). Perhaps also someone can tell me which spark plugs I need for the box. Thank you for your answers, lg, Toby

  • Toyota Yaris gear shift

Hello, have a question: With my new Toyota Yaris go 1. the gears really hard. You have to “reindon” the gears properly. I hope you understand what I mean 🙂 And 2. the Toyo jerks at the gear change (1st to 3rd gear). Is that also with you or do I do something wrong? At my old car has not jerked anything… Thank you for your help!!! Greetings Sil

  • Set Automatic Daylight Saving Time

Hello, my Crossi (2024) does not automatically change the time to daylight saving time, although the automatic time setting is enabled. WiFi and Bluetooth are also enabled, yet no correct daylight saving time. Do you have to set the time manually to daylight saving time? Is there a trick for the daylight saving time to set automatically? Thanks for a tip.

  • Question about the engine 1.0 VVT-i

Hello Toyota Forum, at Opel I know almost every part number by heart but from Toyota I have as much knowledge as from astrophysics. My wife drives a 1.0 with 69 hp from 2010 with currently something about 75,000 km. The engine seems to be relatively inconspicuous, at least you read little about it. We have the problem that he rattles and rattles at irregular intervals after starting. Sometimes not for days, then 2 or 3 times and then not for days. After a few Ki When it sounded particularly bad (or when I was driving with it myself, woman didn’t hear anything because quote: “The radio was on” I made an oil change with 0W30 (according to Liqui Moly oil sign). Before 5W30 was in. This brings us to the 1st problem: According to the Internet, 3.1 liters + 0.2 liters of oil filter capacity come in, but after 3 liters it was with the Max marking and out came only 2 liters. Of course too little but just at the Min marking. in which maybe Toyota at 60,000 km has not filled in too little, since I could not detect any oil consumption before, it only has to be checked with lammed. But what does Toyota say about oil content, oil quality and change interval? After that the engine ran a little quieter and more economical but the sporadic and irregular rattles still makes it. Is there anything else to consider with the engine? Must e.g. the valve play be checked? Any other vulnerabilities? Just exclude it now, because it has so little down and really gets a relatively sensitive oil change after 15,000 km (as I always pushed on it). Driving profile is rather city area but no short distances, everything so at least 15 km to 20 km per ride and lots of green wave. Greetings

  • Summer time in relation to EV share

A perhaps somewhat curious observation: I switched my 2024 Yaris to summer time on Sunday in the menu. Since then, the EV share (automatically by system, not manually by EV button) has gone up noticeably. The last months, even during the high temperatures a few weeks ago, the EV share according to the display was at most by 50%, now after the conversion at once again at 80%. The consumption according to on-board computer declined from just under 4 liters to 3.4 liters. And no, that’s NOT April’s joke. If that’s not a big coincidence that the system on the same routes and at unchanged temperatures at once changes the EV share significantly upwards due to any changed factors that I didn’t recognize, it can actually only be due to the switch to summer time. However, that would be an almost curious thing in fact. Should the system actually be aware during the summer time m I was also surprised that despite 20° in March, the car often ran the burner, while last autumn the EV share was so high in the same circumstances.
