Hello dear W123 fans and helpers have now also switched from a W210/W124 to a W123. Currently I have a 200D with 393,000KM on the clock. Unfortunately, the otherwise reliable vehicle is no longer reliable. At the moment he starts very badly (only with full battery) when he slow organt I can get me wound organs until the doctor comes. With full battery when he turns faster he usually comes quite fast. When he is on then he runs first unround and wants to go out immediately. To accept gas he does quite badly, after half a minute the engine then runs round. But he does not do any pains with it. Further problem, if he then runs times, the tank must not be under half, or quarter full. Otherwise with full load e.g. he and the engine does not pull more, as if someone would pull the handbrake at once. If the tank is half full or above, the problem is gone. So I am currently tormented over. Have the tank sieve in suspicion, and diesel filter, can confirm it or something else.

W123 as everyday car / wheel search
Hello! As a forum newcomer I would like to introduce myself first. I am 30 years old, come from the Lower Rhine and recently bought me a W123 200d and sold my comparatively boring Passat 2.0tdi. My 123er should serve me as a everyday car, even as a long-distance vehicle. He should do his services for me all year round. Only with snow or salt on the road he is allowed to rest. I let myself be told by the “old people” that there is no more solid engine and that he should be good for long distances even after more than thirty years. This purchase has moved me to join you. Maybe I can also attach my dangerous half-knowledge in one place or another. As a counterpart to my Benz I drive a Kawasaki Ninja Zx6r. If I violate any form of forum rules, you may forgive me – I am a forum girl. My Benz is by the way in the original state and should remain as far as possible. Only one set of old and suitable alufelgens (z.b. BBS, Rhyme, Rhyme, etc.) would like to fly around.

230CE Coupé – What do you think?
Good morning. I would like to look at the days – from the first glance – a semi-maintained 230CE coupé from 1984 (fabric seats, automatic). The car has its 160,000km on the speedo, which should also match with the checkbook. The whole history should be understandable. However, the doors, threshold and the area around the sliding roof worry me a bit. So I just attached the “problems” and would ask for your opinion. 9,000 EUR for the car I feel a bit too ambitious. But maybe I also have a wrong assessment of the market value. Would I be pleased about your comments and comments.

W123 280 TE – Engine damage: which replacement engine is alternative (newer generic or diesel)
Hello, I own a W123 280 TE. This was rebuilt in 2000 from several vehicles. Carrosserie, interior equipment in absolute good condition. The engine had licked oil, I had it now for the exchange of all seals in the workshop. Now it was established that the engine probably has a bigger, damage. I play with the thought to invest in an exchange engine, as the rest of the vehicle is as said absolutely worthy of maintenance. My question also in knowledge of the high fuel consumption of the 280 engine: – Can one convert from the petroler to diesel: if yes: has someone experience with it: which engine, cost? – Could one also integrate in the 123er engines of the new generation ? if yes: which ? Cost? Thank you I would be pleased if only answers to the topic were made and no fundamental discussion about such an exchange comes up…

W123 200 does not start
Dear community, I have a problem. I’m 21 years old and try to get a buddy to a 123er. It’s a W123 200 from 1978 with 94hp. The vehicle was 10-12 years old and I got it for little money. 3 weeks ago we renewed fuel lines, made oil changes etc. and in the end the car to run. First the car ran in idle, but the engine went out, at least at the beginning again. This week we wanted to continue with gearboxes, brakes etc. and have got stuck that the Mercedes no longer starts. The fuel comes to the carburetor and then probably no longer into the intake tract. Well, we both have little idea of carburetors and have first expanded, cleaned and re-installed it. Unfortunately, the good guy still doesn’t jump on. Does any of you have any idea what that might be, or what you have to pay attention to? We’re guessless. It’s a Stromberg 175 CD. Thank you and a nice weekend greeting fabikol

W115 seat leather has stains, how do you get them out?
Happy good evening dear old-timer friends! With my W115 my previous owner had car tires stored on the seats (this criminal). Now I have the problem that there are black spots and I absolutely can’t clean them away. I’m also not sure whether it’s genuine leather or artificial leather. Does someone happen to know how or if you get such stains out in the leather? I added a photo so you can see what I mean. THANK YOU!!!

123er 230CE, ? Condition with photos
Hello, there is a 123er 230 CE from 1985 for sale, 170,000 km. Another good year TÜV. Unfortunately it was closed out for half a year. Disk inside wet (sliding roof leaks), seats, steering wheel etc starts to mold. Otherwise see pictures. Can such a car be worthwhile at all or where is one located there price? Or rather let it be?
